seth rogen really showed in this movie that he is capable of playing a different character than the generic "seth rogen character" that he always plays. This movie was refreshingly different and seth rogen acted so well i forgot it was seth rogen at some points. The trailer was misleading though, it doesn't point out the characters mental illness or the fact that this movie is extremely dark.

I could tell that Seth didn't executive produce nor write this movie like some of the projects he has done because throughout the movie something was missing. Unlike most Seth Rogen movies where he gets in his zone of outlandish comedy with an edge of sophistication, this movie just didn't have it. The plot was very realsitic, and the mall aspect was okay, but overall I'll give this movie a C. Danny Mcbrides special appearance helped this movie quite a bit.

I LOVED this movie, it's been a long time since the world's gotten a comedy like this.

There are offensive parts in the movie but that's what I found refreshing- that it didn't give two s**ts about doing it.

And with the comparisons of this and Paul Blart, both were made in the SAME TIME, only Paul Blart was straight-up-rushed to the theaters.

No, I don't go to female comedies because Female Comedy, in general, sucks. Female comedians are NOT funny, and most of them only talk about their Periods and shit. Most male comedians aren't really funny, either.

Comedy, whether it's stand-up or movies or whatever, needs to be universal in order for it to work and I don't know how many women can work that universal appeal to be successful. It's not that easy to pull off for any sex.

I give "Observe and Report" a 7 out of 10. It was okay.

Plus, "Paul Blart" was admittedly stupid, so everyone just kind of went along with it. "Observe and Report" is kind of serious (rated 'R', and includes male nudity), despite it's marketing campaign, so you don't feel as loose in watching it and you don't see as much of a comedy, even though it's about a Mall Cop. But "Observe and Report" is a MUCH better movie, though.

Plus, "Observe and Report" has more comeptition, including Hannah Montana. It really should've came out in March.

I'd give the movie a 7/10, bordering on 7.5. I've seen it twice and enjoyed it even more the second time. I'm a writer/actor as well, as Seth Rogen's work really influences a lot of the shit I do. I think the movies he writes, like SUPERBAD and PINEAPPLE EXPRESS, were better but as far as his performance as an actor, he really took it to the next level with this.

The movie made a mockery of some guy who seems to be autistic and is bi-polar. HE f'n SHOT A GUY and it was suppose to be funny. Then no one called an ambulance and he took the guy to the police station SHOT..... His drunk mom was comical in the beginning, but then they tried to make a serious moment into something funny and it was just horrible. I dunno, i guess it was rated R for a reason, but it was like south park, only without you expecting it to be that way.
