  • for towing heavy loads is the manuel transmission better then a automantic transmission

  • Comment removed

  • Nice video. Not so crazy on the HD looking dodges but overall a nice looking truck. I'm happy with my 2011 Ford f350. Tows stuff like a dream. Also sounds like your a Canadian!

  • Beutiful interior, to bad I'm only 13, what's the milage on that

  • Get that bitch on the free way and hammer the throttle ! lol jk nice truck man

  • thats because you drove the 1920 model ball sucking fords.

  • how much was it

  • wer do u live

  • I towed 17,436 pounds with my dodge 3500 dually. It didn't shit itself either.

  • hahahah i love this vid am a dodge fan and i had a 5.7 hemi its a nice engine i towed about 7K and it went to 2k RPM and it was moving in idle my and my dad were lol like crazy he was like i love to see a ford do this so was i. but we did a 0 to 80 MPH up hell and we past this guy in a ford f250 and he look at us passing him. and i do love the turbo in those but i more of a V8 music guy so

  • My dream truck exept in black white or dark grey exactly like yours

  • Hey you failed to make a full stop at the stop signs! Shame on you! LOL

  • @AlabamaCrackerHonkey Those were both yield signs :P

  • Very nice truck you have there by the way I would trade my 6.0 for that culminate any day you seem like a nice person no foul language every time some one comments

  • @Ranger0024 Thanks.

  • My truck is far from stock my egr won't ever go out I have delete kit for it and I have sct tune from innovative diesel I am making 785 torque on rear tires and was spinning on drums at that I have arp head studs and aftermarket copper head gaskets but none of that would be needed had Ford used a cummins I should not have to Build my own engine to last and there was different turbo charges on some years if I remember correct some were 12 vains some 10 vains I have the ten making 42 psi

  • Got to love the cummins but I have pulled my dump trailer at 16,000 including trailer with my Ford 6.0 but I do have the later 2006 engine much better than 03-05 6.0 I would love it if Ford would run a cummins that's what I would have but for now my last 7.3 went 400,000 and still runs every day I will make a video of the 7.3 soon when I am back at the work shop but I have my upgraded 6.0 on my channel

  • @Ranger0024 when you towed with your 6.0L are you able to get up to speed within reasonable time? Also as far as i know all the ford 6.0l's from 03-06 were the exact same and all just as faulty. They did NOT change anything on them except the head gasket. Your time will come. Your EGR or valve will fail, you will lose coolant out your exhaust pipe (white smoke), then you'll over-heat and crack a head/gasket and be looking at a $6000 repair.

  • @MrCraigmire123 well.. if that happened to me i would swap in a cummins.. but i got a little 07 f250 and they did alot more for the engine reliability.. they also added some power.. i got a banks ram air and my truck will tow 8500+ without sweating it too much.. and remember.. your comparing an 05 to a 2010/2011.. not exactly fair is it?.. don't get me wrong it a great vid and great truck.. but don't diss a decent engine

  • i switched over to a dodge ram 2500 and loved it my old ford would shit it self pulling my 28 ft tag along

  • thats the way to go and what kind of oil i got an 09 ram 1500 hemi and i changed the oil and got shitty ass mpg its upsetting used to get around 21mpg frw but now lucky to get 16mpg any ideas?

  • @dodgeperformance1 use mobil 1 REGULAR oil, also be sure to use a mopar oil filter. People at the stores will tell you aftermarket filters are better but in some cases they dont fit properly. I think for gas you use 5w30? should say on ur oil cap. when ur using regular oil do your oil change religiously every 5k max. Let me know how it went.

  • @MrCraigmire123 it takes 5w20 and yea im about to do the oil change this week or next week thanks again

  • @MrCraigmire123 What MPG do you get Empty & towing!

  • @Ryd3r22 highway i can get about 18 - 19 mpg but towing varies. i recently towed 6100kg in my dump trailer, that's 13 500lbs. the tires were flared out. that's also not including the weight of trailer. in total i think i was towing almost 17 000lbs i was getting 10 MPG :P still had plenty of power to get up to speed.

  • @MrCraigmire123 Thats actually not bad MPG for modern diesel's. My dads work got a brand new 2011 ford 1 ton Powerstroke a while ago and he said its rediculous, they had to go on a service call with it and on HWY with a roughly 800LB packer in the box they got like 13MPG. Im a dodge fan & when Im older(im 15) I hope to get a cummins wheelchair accessable(search goshichi 4x4 on YT to see what I mean)

  • @Ryd3r22 you sure you want a 1 ton truck to drive around in man? They're not a nice drive. i get sick of driving my dodge some times. Feel every bump in the road and almost hit ur head on the roof. Also everything in a diesel truck is almost twice as expensive as a gas truck. Brake pads, rotors, lube jobs all take about twice as much oil, coolant w/e. Light duty trucks are not all they're worked up to be in terms of comfort and getting from A-B.

  • @MrCraigmire123 well who knows thats along time till I'll be able to afford a truck & conversion lol!

  • vidyooooo ^^ this is in canada

  • nice truck .....but my 7.3 just does me fine

  • My dream truck is th 2011 dodge ram 3500 longhorn ed. look it up it's awesome.

  • @redneck4runneroutlaw yeah dude, my too!

  • @redneck4runneroutlaw dang that is mine two i do hope that one day we both get one that is even newer

  • How does it do on gas?

  • @CWittek508 18-20 on hwy and 12-15 on normal street.

  • @MrCraigmire123 the lower the gearing, day 4.11 in my chevy, the higher the rev. I get to bout 4000 rpms on a 4 speed tranny in fourth gear going 60. But In my newer chevy with 3.07 I'm only pushing up to 2000 with overdrive off.

  • u just left calgary bobcat lol,,,

  • Awesome!! Dodge for life!!

  • great video, i love Dodge

  • How well does the truck perform like on road off road , have u had any major problems with it

  • that trailer probably weighs more than the trailer

  • when you're speeding up, it sounds like my 2010 ram 1500 quad towing my 6,100 pound travel trailer, except i need to speed up ALOT slower, it takes me aboout 10-20 seconds to get it up to 60, i can get it up faster, but i dont wanna hurt the engine, and i agree: "im hapy to be a dodge driver" me too!

  • Hey thanks for all the help, and info I ended up going with a ram 3500 6.7cummins dually slt,it should arrive at the dealer some time this week. Thanks again

  • @heathdspain Right on man. You will not regret your choice. I love my truck. Been very happy with it. Oh and hey, maybe try this out; Try the first oil change with synthetic, then the 2nd oil change with regular oil. i am not joking, when i used to have synthetic i got way worse fuel mileage. talk to your service adviser and make sure it wont void the warranty though. it shouldnt. it's usualy on vehicles that have 75 000kms on it of just regular or synthetic and then u switch to the other.

  • @MrCraigmire123 if this truck had the manual you would not have any weak transmission problems.

  • @MrCraigmire123 Hey dude, I was just wondering what engine that Ford had in it you were using to tow that Bobcat before. I couldn't hear what you said in the video so I figured I would ask. Was the Ford gas or diesel ? And what size engine ?

  • @cappy032 2004 F-250 6.0L diesel. Worst diesel truck made in the last 30 years. Big problems with that truck. the 6.4L diesel was not much better.

  • @heathdspain do a video of it.

  • @heathdspain do a video

  • Hey very sweet truck ,what was the sticker price? ive been wanting to trade in my 1500 for a 2500 6.7,but 44,000 give or take seems aa lot for a pickup.Nice bobcat too.

  • @heathdspain hey, thanks for the complement. I live in canada. When i price out a ram 2500 SLT mega cab on dodge.ca it shows starting price at $30 000, but by the time you are done getting all the options including the diesel you're looking at about $52 000+ and easily more. Im interested to know what you would be using your truck for. Every average day driving i would not recommend the diesel at all.

  • @MrCraigmire123 well ive been wanting to retire soon and have been looking at a 34 ft 5th wheel and also have a horse trailer ,but the 1500 will tow it fine.

  • @heathdspain well a 34 foot trailer is quite large. i dont know how much weight you are towing, but if you're towing anything around 7000lbs and then the weight of the trailer i would recommend the diesel. another thing i would suggest with that kind of weight; Make sure you get 4:1 gearing or the 3:93. Do not listen to what the sales men at dodge say. when im towing what you see here in this video, my truck has to work. Heck for a 34ft trailer i'd even recommend a dually.

  • @MrCraigmire123 just priced one out at the dealer SLT megacab 2500 with a cummins 45g's out the door all said and done. They are pretty much clearing them out right now. I'm in ontario too.

  • @bcatz454 you getting a dodge cummins? right on man. whatever you do though, get it geared out properly. I love my gearing. If u get lets say a 3:55 gear ratio even with it being a diesel, when u go to tow something ever it's gonna struggle depending on the weight. i got 4:1 in mine and if im going up a hill and needing to gain some speed im revving 2900 rpm. A 3:55 you'd be red lining and not gaining speed.

  • @MrCraigmire123 Oh yeah, gearings not anything new to me. They come with 4.10 gearing as the lowest gear. You also need to the gearing in order to get max towing weight. I made the mistake of getting the highest gearing in the 08 ram I have right now but she will be replaced by a cummins in the next month or so.

  • happy to be a dodge driver ;)

  • I am a die hard Cummins guy but the new ford and duramax do have a more towing cap. Is dodge falling behind?? maybe but its not that the Cummins doesnt have the power its that dodge needs to step it up in the tranny department. Either way thats a sharp truck you have there!! wish i could afford one!! thanks for the vid, enjoy!

    Chris

  • @charazin22 Dodge needs to come out with a "ton-and-a-half" to compete with the F-450. I know they have a 4500 Ram, but it's still only a chassis cab. They need a Ram 4500 with a standard bed, the Cummins is a medium duty engine, why not make a medium duty truck for it? Ford really had a good idea with the F450, for guys who want to legally tow more than 21 or 22 thousand pounds but still have a pickup truck, that's the only option. Now, a Cummins in an F450...

  • @DuckwalkSupreme the cummins does have a medium duty truck it goes into. it goes into ford f-650's and f-750's. Check it out on the ford website and click under commercial. i think a ram 3500 SRW (single rear wheel) is a 1 ton, and 1.5 ton is a DRW(dual rear wheel) 3500. but yeah, you're right i think next step up from a DRW 3500 is just a chassis 4500. im not seeing one on their website.

  • @MrCraigmire123 Yeah, but those aren't really pickup trucks, I was thinking basically a Dodge version of the F-450. Something a little beefier than a 3500, but still a pickup. And I'm pretty sure a DRW 3500 is still technically a 1-ton, even if it's payload is higher, I think 1-ton, 3/4 ton and such just refers to the frame and suspension and their weight limitations.

  • @DuckwalkSupreme The Morton Building Co. in town here has a 2010 Ram 5500. It is a cab and chassis truck but would that be considered a ton and a half?

  • @charazin22 I think a 5500 would be a 2 ton, but those don't come from the factory with a truck bed, do they?

  • @charazin22 the brand new 2011 6.7 cummins beats them all, cause they make them now with 800lbs of torque and unmatched towing

  • @steriods4champions Unfortunately you can only get that 800 number if you get the automatic.

  • hey man like your videos like u said u had a ford and it woulnt tow for shit u got that right i had a 2008 f250. you couldnt tow for shit with it then i trade it in for a 2010 dodge ram3500 6.5 cumming Heavy Duty but with the Dually. i would say i would tell every one get a dodge over a ford or chevy any time keep up th good work man

  • @stdudly01 Thanks

  • good im happy for you and your gay truck just keep your ass in canada EH

  • thanks for the video. been typically a ford guy, but when it comes to diesel, a I6 will out torque a V8 anyday. same goes for gas engines, thats why i'd prefer the dodge. love how quiet they are now too. i guess that isn't so great for the rednecks haha.

  • cool video... what kid of MPG you getting with that kind of load? Also, I looked at the Ford F350 with the new 6.7 and it spooked me away to know that this was their 4th diesel engine in 10 years, and all made in house... no history. I went with the Chevy, but the Dodge was a close 2nd choice.

  • @CE750 towing that kind of load around town, this winter I've seen my fuel economy read almost 28l/100km so that would be like 10-12 MPG. all i gotta say is this dodge uses half the fuel my ford 6.0L did. my snow removal route, every time i drove to it last year and got home i'd go through almost half a tank with the ford. my dodge, i can do it in 1/4 a tank and i can leave it idling all day on the cold days like -30 Celsius. why start and stop the truck every hour or 2 in -30 weather.

  • @MrCraigmire123 can you do a little update walkaround, and just wondering but since you tow a lot did you consider the standard cummins diesel?

  • @Ryd3r22 what do you mean an update walk around? about the standard trans; i dont know how to drive stick. i have never had the opportunity in my life to learn it. i am sure it would be better but its hard enough towing a load and trying to drink coffee at the same time as it is ;P Winter roads can be quite slippery.

  • @MrCraigmire123 just a video of the truck and stuff, you said you were buying new fender flairs possibly and wondering how they look.

  • @MrCraigmire123 also does your truck have a dpf delete?

  • @Ryd3r22 no DPF delete. and i have not got new fender flares yet.

  • cool video... what kid of MPG you getting with that kind of load?

  • safe bet with the dodge, but i have to say ive towed with the lml duramax and been in the truck with a 6.7 they seemed to have power up the ass. my friend has an 08 cummins and i like the way the over all truck feels pulling over the ford. but like you said the reliability on the new 6.7 fords is unknown. i kknow the 6.0's are a joke i asked my buddys uncle what year his ford was he said like 04 first of the 6.0s all proud and i was like those were the ones notorious for problems dude.

  • @FORDGTFANATIC Thanks for the comment. Yeah the 2007-2010 era, the cummins has the lowest amount of torque/hp but i did not really pay attention to those statistics. - My reason why is because supposedly the ford 6.0L was right on par with hp/torque in the 2003-2006 era of trucks, and believe you me, It definatly wasnt. Every single light i got stopped at, and had to get up to speed again, that 6.0L would just cry. That's why the head gasket blew or head cracked on it lol :P

  • @FORDGTFANATIC the new ford 6.7s are amazing my dad owns one and itll out tow any dodge or chevy........ive got a 6.0 and ill honestly say when they run theyll out tow anything this guys crazy ive pulled eaisly 20,000 on a gooseneck and i cant feel shit behind it mines been a good 6.0 itll kick a cummins or dmax in the nuts

  • @badassouthernboy care to make a video of your 6.0Leaker kicking a cummins ass or a dmax. Also i'd like to see it even try to tow 20 000lbs. Get a 14' dump trailer with 1.5 feet extra high side wall extensions and load it almost to the top with top with dirt/sod and show me it towing that weight. Cuz that's what i did and it could barely climb a hill. There was so much weight on it my fifth wheel hitch reciever was cracking. i thought it was going to break. Ford = built tough, but No power.

  • @MrCraigmire123 next time i put a big load on it i will for sure ive had it hooked into a 35 ft dump with sides that were 6.5 ft high it was a heavy duty trailer they used in huricain katrina for clean up and briught it back home from mississippi empty it weighed 19,800 and i had PLENTY of power i just had major stress on the frame

  • Do you Live In BC? I Live in BC and Im the same way. I have an 05 5.9 and its pulls like nothings there. One thing you should do to your truck is get rid of the DPF. It restricts airflow and when your towing, the truck will heat up alot faster than It should. Id say you should do that, and then get a MBRP 4" exhaust, take off the CAT, and leave the muffler and get either an Intake or a K&N air Filter.

  • @MotoX179 thanks for the tip. yeah once my truck goes off warranty (like 3 years from now heh) ill do the whole 9 yards and get the EGR system removed along with the DPF and put a bully dog chip in it.

  • @MrCraigmire123 I wouldnt wait for the warranty to go. Id do the EGR DPF immediatly, and dont do a programmer.

  • @MotoX179 Removing it is foolish. Just leave it alone. You will just void the warranty.

  • @studpuppy69 If you leave the DPF on, the truck will heat up really fast when towing in heat and in my case mountains. The cummins doesent really need a warranty, because the motors are proven superior in the diesel pickup world. Toss the DPF, throw a good 4"-5" exhaust on it, do the EGR delete, and youll be good to go. Believe me, my buddy did the same to his truck, and It ran cooler, had a bit more power and It pulled nicer. Also, put a K&N airfilter or a CAI on it.

  • You can't compare it to a 6.0 powerstroke they were crap lol.

7.3 is the only good powerstroke ever made and it was a good one at that

  • fucking sick truck. mopar or nocar

  • @BMXer053pc Thanks

  • ya and dodge is the only one that doesn't need urea injection!Gotta think about that.

  • And did you get an SLT??

  • @gooddriver22 yeah SLT package. love it. I'll never buy leather seats again.

  • why does your speedo look like its in km/h?

  • @Treddtruck yeah, it's in kilometers. i live in canada

  • @MrCraigmire123

    Calgary???? Looks allot like Calgary

  • Comment removed

  • You in Calgary??

  • Well, I will agree with you on the ride part..I guess Fords idea of putting bricks between the axles is not paying off..lol But, just to be clear I am NOT at all mocking your rig, its down right beautiful! I just dont happen to be a Dodge "fan". Everyone has there taste in trucks, but I do wanna say, Dodge is the ONLY H.D truck to still offer a manual trans on there diesels (i drive an '11 Ram 3500, Cummins 6spd man with 4:10's for work). And that is awesome!

  • I drive an '11 Ram 3500 for work...but I am not at all happy to drive that thing...lol

  • @strumem90 i really dont know how you can say that man. For a 1 tonne truck, they drive Very nice. Way nicer than fords do. in my truck i can actually drink a coffee while driving. if i tried to drink coffee in my ford, it would not be long before i'd have coffee all over my lap.

  • @MrCraigmire123 what is that chrome i see in the box? a tool box?

  • @Ryd3r22 yeah, it's a tool box/slip tank. Pretty handy. I wished there was a bit more tool box room though. Holds about 90 liters of diesel.

  • @MrCraigmire123 /? so like half is tool box hlf is fuel tank?

  • @MrCraigmire123 your toolbox/slip tank, do you use it too hold fuel for your bobcat or for more truck fuel? and what brand is it

  • @Ryd3r22 the brand of the slip tank is "Taylor wings", and i use it more for the bobcat.

  • @MrCraigmire123 also are those the aluminum rims?

  • Nice truck.

  • Can't even hear the engine from the cab.....christ I almost go def with the 02 cummins. Nice fucking truck man....definitely jealous. Where in canada?

  • my fathers 04 dodge ram 5.9l feels like its got unlimited power

  • How come you didn't go with a manual? Does it seem like the Automatic can pull it's own? Do you go over any Mountain passes regularly?

  • @DieselnDrums No, i do not drive over mountain passes regularly. I have towed uphill with my truck, and there was plenty of power to gain speed.

  • @MrCraigmire123 very beatiful truck? what kind of chrome strips are those around the wheel wells and any idea were i can get them?(like a website)

  • @Ryd3r22 i couldnt tell you. I just bought them from a store called "Auto Truck Depot" In calgary where i live. They were the cheapest one's. For a dodge ram, i'd recommend Bushwacker Pocket style fender flares. They're more expensive but man they look great. Im going to get bushwacker flares soon because these one's allow dirt and rocks to kick up the side of the body a bit. Also they do not guard the wheel well that good either. i would NOT recommend them

  • Check out my towing video. Dodge diesel issues 2010 6.7L Cummings submitted by hardhatsafety's

  • @hardhatsafety hi, i saw your video. Geez dont know what's wrong with your truck man? O.o Atleast you Actually tow with your truck. So many people with big ass diesel trucks these days and never even hooked anything up tp the hitch of it.

  • @MrCraigmire123 Well, I will agree with you on the ride part..I guess Fords idea of putting bricks between the axles is not paying off..lol But, just to be clear I am NOT at all mocking your rig, its down right beautiful!

  • @strumem90 make a video of how it looks after new flares

  • Hey Mrcraig, my ford a 2006, f-250 Crew Cab Long bed with stock 20's, with the 6.0 powerstroke. Been a good truck so far, but ive always loved the low end those cummins provide, but i feel highway pulling the ford out shines the cummins, BUT thats just My opinion. Obviously i like dodges too, otherwise i wouldnt be looking here hehe

    Keep the vids coming bud

  • @xlandjsilvers I had to get rid of my 2004 f-250 because i over worked it. Coolant/white smoke started coming out the exhaust pipe. The automotive shop i took it to put on a new EGR cooler. What they should've done is just done an EGR system delete, and that would have only cost $500, the new EGR cooler cost $1500 or so. $3000 by the time all the repairs were done. anyways i was still losing coolant so figured it had a cracked head or head gasket. best quote i had to fix it was $7000.

  • very nice and clear vid man!

you should make one demonstrating the eshaust brake!!!

  • @TAZxKING good idea. i will do that. although it might be a couple of months before i tow with my truck again.

  • No, I am asking what the check gauges light was for in this video. It looked like the check gauges light was on.

  • @Imahab i think that's the tow/haul light.

  • Was your "check gauges" light on? Do you remember what was wrong at the time?

  • @Imahab are you asking what was wrong with the 6.0L ford i had before?

  • Nice truck man, im in a 6.0 Liter ford Now, and honestly love it. Sorry yours was a turd, as they seem to be hit and miss with those. Tows my 7000 lb boat like a dream aswell. Congrats on your new truck!

  • @xlandjsilvers what kind of ford 6.0L do you have?

  • @MrCraigmire123 Hey bud, mine is a 2006, 3/4 ton crew cab long bed with stock 20's.
