  • outrageous*

  • You can get it for a dime now lol... a 1964 dime is worth almost 3 bucks.. but that just goes to show how ourageous times have gotten since the time you made this video

  • ron paul yall

  • Shit now Im going to look for old quarters

  • back in 1930 it was lol

  • ummm.....so how do u get free gas?

  • So can i sell an old quarter to a gold and silver shop?

  • @woweasyguides yes. or on ebay or craigslist or whatever.

  • Well done my friend.. Well done. :)

  • AKA inflation.

  • dude! we got like tonage of these dam coins texas and therer still worth A QUATER

  • 2.50 for a 1964 silver quarter?

    More like 30 dollars now.

  • @billehnize um no. A 1964 silver quarter is worth $6.17 today. It was worth around $2.50 when I made this video several years ago.

  • @billehnize not that high yet but it will

Silver have to be around $170/oz. to be worth $30 a piece.

  • @billehnize Where did you see a silver quarter for sale for $30?

  • why am i watching this i dont even have a car xD

  • HAHAHA I HAVE ONE QUARTER LIKE THAT!!!!

  • its just a jump to the left..

  • @juggalosak Yea! first person in all the years this video has been up to comment on the Rocky Horror reference.

  • @MystryBox lol

  • 1985 World Series Royals won.

  • those are IMPOSSIBLE to find... no one lets those go by..

  • @CMTGproductions back when I made the video they were easier to find. Now not so much.

  • I hate you.. dont know why yet but I do

  • @bignastygnome maybe you're intimidated by my stunning good looks? lol

  • @MystryBox lol I dont think that's it. Maybe your voice..hhhmm. Makes me want to knock all the books behind you down

  • @bignastygnome sounds like a psychological problem. You should get that checked ;)

  • @MystryBox I wish I can take that old quarter and stick it in a broken vending machine

  • he made this on my birth day!

  • I hate to say this, but what does the government do according to the constitution anymore? They don't even read the bills before they pass them so anything that requires approval from the government is bogus. They're liars and cheats. :(

But if you figured out a way to make money off of them, Congrats! :) but keep your head down cause they'll take you down in 2 sec's flat.

  • you sir are a complete idiot that is trying to sound smart. a quarter is a quarter and always has been. p.s.-you should NEVER say bling again, it just makes you sound like a bigger dork

  • what on earth are you talking about money being worth less? it's worth .25 now and it was worth .25 back then... or are you eager to tell me that back then people paid 2.50 for a quarter? no, they didnt, it was worth exactly .25, they just changed the metal

  • @Schimml0rd It's the VALUE of "25 cents" has changed. What 25 cents will buy. Seriously, if you wake up tomorrow and there was a hyperinflation and it suddenly took $1000 to buy a loaf of bread (and that has happened many times in history) are you going to explain to everyone how money is still just money and a dollar is still a dollar?

  • @MystryBox yeah, i know what you are talking about but inflation has nothing to do with the material the coins are made of. Back in the days every money-unit (?) was worth more (.25, .50, 1, 2, 5, 10, 20, 50, ...), and not because they changed the paper it is printed on.

  • in the 60s it was silver now its copper cause the goverment has the silver an they tell u what it worth

  • @Schimml0rd he isnt talking about the monetary value of the quarter. Coins were made of different metals. he is refering to the price of the silver in todays market. as every one that watches the economy knows now days silver and gold prices have gone up. and as far as monetary value... the more money thats printed drops the every day value..... not to mention price hikes i.e. a quarter no longer buys a pack of gum. no im not being a d-bag as everyone will say.... i am simply offering info

  • @Schimml0rd you're a retard or you're trolling. I can't tell.

  • @Schimml0rd shame your not a coin collector!

  • @Schimml0rd wow... sad! close your eyes for too much longer and you'll lose all ability to see at all

  • @Schimml0rd Inflation, genius.

  • not "worth less".......but WORTHLESS!!!

  • amen. very informative :-)

  • The US dollar isn't worth so much less as much as silver is currently worth so much more. He is incorrect. Our money was never intended to have intrinsic value. In 1965, the silver in the quarter was never worth a quarter at the time just like the metal in our quarters today aren't worth a quarter. Some time in the future, that metal will eventually be worth more than a quarter even through modest inflation. Start thinking people.

  • @greersome why don't you read the constitution and see how it defines our money. It doesn't do any good to try to think when you have your basic facts so wrong.

  • As a paraplegic it is cheaper to hire someone to shop than to put wear on my chair. It is cheaper to spring for the bus than to ride. Same reason. Besides, if I make a big deal out of being strapped down, they won't bother charging me. Also, if I *DON'T make them strap me down (on a familiar route), they'll return the favor by assuming I have a monthly pass.

  • Uhh, the Federal Reserve is not "the government" nor is it even a government agency. Rather, the Federal Reserve is a bunch of rich men who appointed one another to an independent committee that was originally set up by the government (but is no longer affiliated with the government). It is THEY who create the money and it is THEY who decide its "value"!

  • this is what Ron Paul is trying tell everyone.. if you want your money to actually be worth something we have to end the fed.. Ron Paul is the only one that understands this

  • SO, who buys these quarters? You aren't allowed to melt them down.

  • @etonks you wouldn't want to melt them down. Why turn a defined weight of silver guaranteed by the US government with a well known value into a melted blob that would then have to be essayed by experts to know its value? Just sell the coin to coin shops, people on ebay or craigslist, or whoever. There are plenty of people buying.

  • @MystryBox OooOOoooh!! Thank you. You learn something new everyday! :)

  • So, where do I get a gallon of gas for 25 cents?

  • @armydude441 anywhere you want. Just make sure your "25 cents" are in the form of a pre-1965 (silver) quarter.

  • Great video. I don't think you could've broken it down into more simplistic terms.

  • we fudged ourselves when we stopped backing every dollar with bullion....

  • @deadcell85

It became impossible, because after WWII the Europeans traded us their reserves of gold for dollars, with the guarantee we would trade back if they ever wanted. Eventually, trade grew to such a level and both sides of the Atlantic became so wealthy that we could no longer honor our promise to back everything up in gold while still having enough dollars for people to trade with while also not slashing the value of the dollar and causing massive inflation.

  • @deadcell85 amen

  • @zeroFrightGaming

It's not funny, vote Ron Paul 2012

  • isn't it ironic that real coinage is change you can believe in?

  • your an idiot

  • @MrSocial06 why is it that the dolts on youtube that call me an idiot don't ever seem to know when to use "you're" instead of "your."

  • @MystryBox I like your good use of grammar. :P

  • @MrSocial06 Kid, take some grammar classes.

  • @MrSocial06 i am intrigued to know why

  • @MrSocial06 If he is an idiot then I'd like to hear your explanation of inflation. It seem only logical that if you print more money without increases assets backing it, that you're only stretching the dollar and making it inherently worth less. For example if I have a dollar worth of gold and I print a dollar bill to represent that asset and then the next day I print another dollar, but still only have the same amount of gold - then really that dollar is only worth 50c.

  • @MrSocial06 No....he KNOWS what he's talking about, only NOW (10-13-11) this same pre '65 Quarter is worth $5.71!!

Silver has more than DOUBLED since this video was made and it is only going to go HIGHER! Research this for yourself and you'll see that....HE....is not the idiot here!!!!

  • @eyewarnedyou That's more than a gallon of gas at today's prices.

  • Every time the Federal Reserve prints more money (for instance the recent bailouts) the money in your pocket becomes devalued. Vote Ron Paul! END THE FED!!!!

  • im from ireland and found one on the ground in maths class

  • Ron Paul 2012! Look at the inflation of the dollar

  • Lolololololol.

    Very philosphical.LOL

I do agree with you and how socialist government will print out money for entitlments to devalue our country to AA+.,

Not to mention the dollar in your pocket is getting "smaller" every day.

  • you guys have it good anyway, in the uk its costs us $2.19 for a litre which is $9.96 a gallon, quit your moaning

  • @SamJonesMediaHUD it's not the gas that is expensive, it's the taxes on the gas. You get free healthcare (and other services) that I assume those taxes pay for. Quit your moaning.

  • @MystryBox

Wrong, here in Canada, the only tax is the Provincal sales tax for gas. We have it worse than you americans. And don't even try to counter me, because I just asked my father who is in the gas industry.

  • @Lolwut67 well we don't have subsidies here for gas so it's just market rates. perhaps you should ask your all-knowing dad why your gas is so expensive then.

  • @MystryBox a failing healthcare..... most americans from what ive heard get healthcare on their jobs plus isnt obama bringing healthcare to america? we also have to play bloomin road tax on top of the fuel, and i know you are going to say well that helps keeps the roads in order, buuuuuut our roads are appalling outside the major cities. the UK is one of the most taxed countries, nearly everything is taxed, you live the easy life, quit your moaning!

  • @SamJonesMediaHUD sure, it's an easy life here in the US. As long as you don't get sick.

  • @MystryBox you get sick here, they make stuff up so you dont get the actual treatment you need cos it would cost too much

  • @SamJonesMediaHUD I guess it sucks everywhere :(

  • remember whenever gas was $1.97?

    That was great.

  • I dug into my pocket to see what date I had on my quarters. I actually have 1 dated 1965. And a splendid year it was indeed. My birth year hahaha

    But not pre :-(

Such is life, a year late and $6.35 short

  • That's 3 min and 6 sec I'll never get back regardless of what year it is...

  • @MrAsphaltSquadron yeah, go back to the kitten videos... mine require actual thought.

  • BULLSHIT MY DAD TOLD ME WHENHE WAS A KID HE COSTED ONLY 20 CENTS A GALLON AND HES 36!!

  • @MrJuggaloguy my dad had to walk to school every day in the snow... up hill... Both ways.

  • @MystryBox lmao, I was a good student it was down hill all the way ;)

  • @MystryBox I walk to school everyday, even during the harsh winters here in Minnesota lets see I walk to school, I go home during noon, go back to school, then go back home = 44minutes not bad for a day...

  • @MystryBox yyear mine had to do that year round and is still doing it

  • @MrJuggaloguy that was the 80's retard it was more then my dad is 46 and he said gas was about 25cents a gallon

  • @MrJuggaloguy Your dad lied.

  • @MrJuggaloguy you RETARD. Are you actually trying to say that gas cost $0.20 cents per gallon in 1995?? Im from canada and in 1995, gas was around $0.53 cents per LITRE. Thats more than $1.50 for one gallon, so tell me how he managed to pay $1.30 less than the average price?

  • faggot,

  • huh. i never thought of it like that. i have about 8 or 9 silver quarters valued around 6.25. but i wont trade them. lol.

  • Very good video. Even though most people are too stupid or uninterested to appreciate the point you are making. And that is explained by our dumbed down educational system. Americans are dumber than ever, because they're trained to be.

  • very nice info bro. thanks for this clip.

    ignore trolls

  • Dude your totally reading of a page! who hired u?!?! I bet it was OBAMA!

  • @TheTyson5

    umm not likely

  • press 2 realy fast two watch him shine the quarter

  • gas here in Canada is over $4.00 per gallon($1.36.9 per liter) wish i could get gas for 2 bucks a gallon lol

  • wow it took you over 3 mins to explain a simple phenomenon?

  • @unitaper whatever it was I did, it seems nearly a million people have seen it now. I guess I did ok.

  • holy! it seems like inflation has gotten a hold of your playback time too. back in the sixties this three minute video would have taken 45 seconds to watch because it has about 45 seconds of information within it. but someone has mysteriously inflated it with a bunch of dead time and useless words.

  • first tell us gas is in liquid state or gaseous state?

  • Comment removed

  • Comment removed

  • yeah well our "gas" prices are over $9 a gallon!

  • @monsterelectronic it's because you touch yourself at night.

  • @moobie1010 fuck you.

  • I have two of those quarters, they slam and sound different, they feel different too. Hard to find.

  • @50908 yeah, they were easier to find when they were only worth like 80 cents. Now the silver in them is worth over $7 and it's tough to find them.

  • I could only wish I saw this video back in 2007...I would have turned most of my money into gold and silver (which I finaly did in mid 2009 after watching other similar videos in youtube)

  • Thank you well put try to explain this to other people about how money is inflated but they just don't get it :/

  • Tottaly makes sense!

  • So uh,, where can i find these "valuable quarters"????????

  • @BigGucci you dont need quarters you can also get 1oz. coins on ebay

  • It's true we need to get all the gumballs while we still can and use them as money instead

  • nooooooooo more gumballs... gotta get um all

  • so where do i get gas at $2.00 a gallon?

  • @jkranos112 go back in time to 2007 when this video was made, lol.

Oh, and a silver quarter will still by a gallon of gas even at today's prices... with a lot of change left over.

  • @jkranos112 Well first you'd need a time machine to take you back to 2007 when this video was made.

  • @1775novten so where do i get a time machine?

  • @jkranos112 haha, who knows brother. If we could figure that out then gas prices wouldn't even be a worry. Luckily I've horded a lot of silver coins and hopefully the gov won't attempt to confiscate them like they did with gold in the 30s.

  • HOLD MA DICK! SHIT THIS WAS INFORMATIVE

  • like if your wathing this in 2011 when now gas can be 5 dollars a gallon

  • That silver quarter is worth $7.16 today and you could get 2 gallons of gas with it, pretty soon I think it will buy much more.

  • the gas in my area is over $10.00 D:

  • @ckay1100 Where the hell do you live??

  • @ilikemonkeysss In the U.S.

  • @ckay1100 That's a pretty broad area there bud.

  • I shall not show this to my bro in law. We got him out of being paranoid about this shit. And yeah this guy has a points I been knowing since I was in 9th grade pshh. Give the immigrants papers so they can work and pay taxes, they will also spend money, thus more making the cycle work. Spend more money = more jobs= more money spent = more money circulating.

  • @vikvik16 every fiat currency in history has died and usually in less than several decades. So one day your brother will be right, it's just nobody knows when. We've been on pure fiat since the 70's... and the clock is ticking.

  • That quarter is worth $2.92 now

  • Boy, so many of these comments are so ignorant, this guy is smart and giving you the truth that the Gov't is ripping us all off and 99.9999% of the people out there are too stupid to even notice it.

  • @StyleeDP people get the government they deserve.

  • @MystryBox well u cant say that about everyone i hate this country i hope we get taken over and destroyed cause your right we do deserve for letting the government push us around all this time... but now its to late they have put us so far in debt that every new generation bein born in america will be slaves... thank the niggers and obama and bush. they all suck

  • And if u really wanna chane america u have to get rid of every politician and replace them. becuase whoever is running the whitehouse now are crimanalsand the only way we can be destryed is from the inside. i would make one state for the blacks to have so we could stop paying for the welfare housing and schools and food and start putting money back into our country instead of giving it all way to the millions of black send them back to africa and watch our country climb out of the gutter.

  • Silver just hit $40/oz...Why didnt i follow my instincts and buy silver in 2007 instead of just starting 6 mths ago. It will be in the 3 digit within the next 2 years. Bernanke "Gold is not money, central banks hold it from tradition" Hahahahah

Gold and silver will be used as barter in the future, then the dollar can be used as toilet paper when it wont even be able to buy real toilet paper. The comments on here reflect the ignorant masses than just cant scratch the surface and search deeper

  • @vincentca2004 better yet why didn't you buy in 2003 when it was $4 and change?

  • I really didn't want to know about what money is made of, I just wanted to know how to get a fuching gallon of gas for a quarter, thanks for nothing

  • Comment removed

  • @hyquStarOfDavid if you want to STEAL gas take the nozzle put your mouth around it and suck it, as that's all your doing

(or give the clerk a bj)

  • Gosh most of the people leaving comments are Retarded. Here is the breakdown of what he is saying back when money was printed/stamped the money was a universal trade system It was worth something but the government wanted to make it a standard amount Gram ounce Etc.. paper is much the same concept if you think about it, it is the bridge between coinage > Real metal value =Dollar promise to be redeemed for silver/gold and stock worth nothing. what he means if is 1/h and milk costs 10 What then?

  • this guy dont know shit !!!!! i took my old ass quarter to the bank than to a jewlery store and they both laughed at me

  • @adamevanzapata a bank will only give you change for a quarter. A jewelry store won't know what to do either unless they deal in precious metals. Take it to a coin store or sell it on ebay or craigslist.

  • @adamevanzapata you're smart...

  • I guess you do learn something everyday. XD

So now I'm gonna bring this up at dinner and it'll sound like I'm smart XD

  • our government has got to big

  • Okay I clicked on this video because I wanted to know some easy way to get gas, not this BS about quarters and more BS.

  • was paper money more expensive back then to?

  • @jcoronet2000 paper money used to be basically a receipt exchangeable for particular amounts of gold/silver. So back when its value was tied to an actual commodity, it had the value of that commodity. Now it's just a piece of paper.

  • complaining about gas prices?

you don't realise that gas in america relative to europe is so much fricking cheaper

because of your government gas subsides.

not the money becoming worth less because the value of your national curency is more based on ssupply and demand factors of production, manufacturing, imports and exports.

  • @onekilo we don't have gas subsides in the US, we're actually taxed on gas. However we have lower taxes on gas than you (or rather you have higher taxes on gas). However we also don't have things like universal healthcare that I presume your higher taxes buys you.

  • @yodafan82 quarters (and dimes and half dollars, and dollar coins) marked 1964 and earlier are made of silver. Quarters made later are made a cheap base metals including copper.

  • my grandma just gave me 30 1960 quarters for 5 dollars... thats a 196 dollar profit... fuck yea best gma eva

  • i said 1985 before he even said that that waz weird

  • lol geek fight

  • I found a coin in my room from 1807

  • @1thornburg hopefully for you it's gold.

  • @1thornburg :OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

  • ur on crack

  • one word for ya. Taxes, the mayjority of your gas is taxes bud. gas before taxes IS below a dollar. look it up ;)

  • ah..someone can think thank you..lol

most ppl are stupid...cattle and will die the same

  • @Int you've altered arguments in mid stream. You are now arguing your new thesis. Unlike yours, here is a fact-based: The dollar is devalued AND that does NOT account for the price of fuel. When one sets the price of certain goods artificially, it NECESSARILY CAUSES inflation. You are pretending "inflation just happens". No, inflation occurs when critical goods go up in price. "Futures" markets are artificially increasing fuel cost, CAUSING inflation. OUCH, that hurt!

  • Wrong. Inflation does not add up based upon the myth you are pedaling. Gas prices fluctuate by double digit percentages in a matter of months, yet bread does not. If inflation were the culprit, EVERYTHING would have moved up in price, after taking out transportation costs. You think you're bright, but I suspect you are repeating what you've heard, and it's quite "cute" but wrong. Another indicator is the distribution of wealth. The rich are getting richer, the rest are not. Not inflation.

  • @kenfo0 I don't know what planet you live on, but here bread and everything else has gone up the last several decades. The dollar has lost over 85% of its purchasing power in my lifetime alone based on the government's own data (google cpi calculator and see the numbers for yourself). Since the financial crisis in 2008 inflation has accelerated drastically--look at any commodity index you want... soybeans, wheat, whatevever. They're all up double digits in a matter of a few months. WAKE UP

  • @MystryBox I live on planet earth, a-hole. if you did the math, you'd see that the price of goods has skyrocketed since 2004 BECAUSE OF THE COST TO TRANSPORT THEM, ie fuel prices YOU MORON. I HATE stupid, loud-mouthed a-holes like you who hear something and repeat it w/o checking.Generic soda at my store has been 78cents for 5 yrs. Just went up to $1. If it were devaluation of the dollar, it would be far more expensive.

  • @kenfo0 ok, so silver has skyrocketed in a few months because the price to transport it? The price of soybeans is up 70% because the cost to transport it (which is a cost still to be paid AFTER you purchase at these new higher prices)? You don't know what the fark you're talking about.

  • @MystryBox Next, you hear nonsense like gas prices are going up because of decreased production in the gulf (not because of "general inflation" as you claimed) due to SCARY HURRICANES! oooOOOoooo!. Only problem is, the gulf produces less than 9% of US oil, yet the price of gas will jump over 10% over night, while not coming down for weeks. The price is up because OIL FUTURES are being made up. "We found out oil might be scarce in 6 months, so let's raise the price now". FRAUD.

  • @kenfo0 You are a bloody moron, "The Circle Of Inflation" and the Chain of Supply and Demand has definitly affected gas prices. Yes your are true that the rich are getting richer and the poor just keep getting poorer and the middle class eventually will be considered poor as well. But, the Demand for gas is so heavy and we the people are so dependant on gasoline and oil products today that they could charge 10k for a gallon and we would buy it. EVERYTHING HAS moved up in price dipshit! Food, gas
