Listen closely and you can hear the similarities to classical music. Death metal may not be the first thing to come to mind when you hear death metal. But classical music is the traditional root to heavy/death metal. They share the complexity of notation in the sense that it is musical genius. Death metal is by far todays classical. I think Kreator, Morbid Saint, Sarcofago, Blasphemy, and Slaughter Lord influenced Angel Corpse just as old Morbid Angel.

Black thrash also encompasses Nifelheim and Impiety. Good stuff.

Production's way too dry on this album. Could have saved it. I very much enjoy Angel Corpse and the "back end" of the music, the rhythm, it is largely missing in the way the treble overrides everything.
