Yeah, whalesharks truly are gentle giants. It's quite tragic that something so big can be so helpless in the face of human greed. But all is not lost...even the smallest person can make a difference...next time you see someone eating a shark meal, give them a little reminder of how it may have ended up on their bowl.
Yeah, I love them too! Being in their presence just makes one humble...the sheer size of it! :) That's actually a baby whaleshark...can you imagine how large the mother could be?
great videography and editing... where did you spot these gentle giants? and also, which videocam did you use? how about the software you used to edit? it's really good...
Forgot whether I replied to ya....thot I did. Anywayz, thanks for ya comments. I spotted this creature at one of the Anambas oilrigs. Set up : Sony TRV900E with Stingray housing, edited using Adobe Premiere on a home set-up. :)
Thanks! That was exactly the feeling I got when I dived with the whaleshark in these waters. They are gentle giants...well, in this case, I hope she gets to become one.
Thanks! I think the encounter between this whaleshark and the diver is beautiful too! I too miss whalesharks as I haven't been diving for a while now. Would love to get back into the waters again!
That's me with the Kiss Rebreather.

I think that big fellas had a rough life. Did you notice that one of his fins had been cut shorter on his right side.
He probably survived a shark or killer whale attack at some point in his lifetime.
