While I love Halle Berry she was no where near as good as Michelle Pfiefer as catwoman. I don't see why they even made a movie with catwoman as the main character and there is no batman. Anyway, I stopped watching batman after Micheal Keaton wasn't in it until the The Dark Knight rolled around. This was is still my favorite Batman movie out of all of them.
Marion Cotillard would be epic as Catwoman, she posses that sexy but oddly sinister look (her role in Inception), but I hope Anne Hathaway does well. Helena Bonham Carter would rock the ish out of Catwoman but she might be a little older than they're going for.

This is the only Catwoman that is original. It had less action because it focuses on the Penguin, Batman and Catwoman. Berry's movie was all about Catwoman but it never came close to Pfeiffer's rawness

@JMetalify Jack Nicholson was a chubby old man when he played the Joker when in the comics he's a skinny young man. There was room for improvement for Nolan as far as the Joker is concerned.
Catwoman is a different story. Nolan's style doesn't leave much room for the level of artistic freedom required to portray the Catwoman character anywhere near as good Burton's incarnartion. Catwoman is too much of a diva to really fit in Nolan's gritty realism. I just don't see that anywhere in Hathaway.

@TeamEdTheHyena I'm not everybody. I just disagree with parts of his vision on Batman. I'm all for keeping Batman dark and serious, it's just that Nolan's idea of presenting it as realistic as possible to a point where he changes the character backgrounds is something i don't always agree with. I'm sure that Bane's 'venom' is gonna be turned into anabolic steroids. Which is ok, but i think the AA game shows that Batman can be a bit more fantasy and still be as dark, gritty and serious as Nolan's
@Rousalaine I think the problem with Bane is that you can't really tell his story without telling the four part 'Venom' storyline from the 'Legends Of The Dark Knight' comics where Bruce Wayne becomes hooked on the 'Venom' drug first. A movie doesn't give you that much time to tell that whole storyline, so Nolan is going to have to find a way to condense the story.
@TeamEdTheHyena Ledger was nowhere near as good as Nicholson. Ledger played the role of the Joker, Nicholson WAS the joker. I don't understand how so many people think Ledger's performance was anything other than ordinary.

Michelle Pfeifer is THE Catwoman. Halle might be an ok actor, but doesn't hold a candle to Michelle's performance. Halle's catwoman was in a cheap suit, bad script & mediocre performance at best. She (Michelle) approached it from a psychological stand point, Hallie just wanted money and the tittle of the next Catwoman. No one will ever top Michelle, she gave her character inner conflict, human vulnerability and lets face it...she ooozes sex in every scene!!!

She was playing a different character named Patience Phillips, so hers doesn't count. As for Michelle, Selina Kyle is not a blonde, ditzy character. Michelle could have at least dyed her hair dark for the role. Kate Beckinsale looks more like the raven-haired Selina Kyle. I'm undecided about Anne Hathaway.
@44excalibur Weeell, Pfeiffer's Catwoman lives in Tim Burton's mind, which is a lovely place to visit. She does not, however, live in the DC universe. Nor does the Jack Nicholson Joker, or Danny Devito Penguin. They are Burtonized. That doesn't mean they're not badass. It just means they're very different.
@TimDraketheRedRobin Well, that's my point. Burton is like Picasso, painting his Batman in very abstract, subjective ways. Nolan is more Rembrandt, painting Batman closer within the lines of the comics. But Pfeiffer still could have dyed her hair. Same thing goes for Val Kilmer in Batman Forever. Bruce and Selina are many things, but blonde is not one of them. :)

I'm all for keeping Batman dark and serious, it's just that Nolan's idea of presenting it as realistic as possible to a point where he changes the character backgrounds is something i don't always agree with. I'm sure that Bane's 'venom' is gonna be turned into anabolic steroids. Which is ok, but i think the AA game shows that Batman can be a bit more fantasy and still be as dark, gritty and serious as Nolan's

@Rousalaine I think the problem with Bane is that you can't really tell his story without telling the four part 'Venom' storyline from the 'Legends Of The Dark Knight' comics where Bruce Wayne becomes hooked on the 'Venom' drug first. A movie doesn't give you that much time to tell that whole storyline, so Nolan is going to have to find a way to condense the story.

@TeamEdTheHyena Ledger was nowhere near as good as Nicholson. Ledger played the role of the Joker, Nicholson WAS the joker. I don't understand how so many people think Ledger's performance was anything other than ordinary.

@MeddleOnline Yeah but whom will be the new version of catwoman. MIchelle Pfeiffer was a great catwoman, but funny we forget the ones before her in the TV series. Lee Meriweather was great, Eartha Kitt R.I.P was even better but nobody would or even could compare to Julie Newmar. Now there is an original.

That is just stupidity, and it would ruin the authenticity of Nolan's Batman films, even though the authenticity was a little shattered by Katie Holmes being replaced. I don't see too many actresses capable of acting as Catwoman in the next Batman movie, but out of the ones that come to mind, I REALLY hope Eva Green will be the next Catwoman. While it'd be admittedly different from Michelle's amazing performance, I have no doubt Eva would be amazing too. <3

And, for those of you who are blind, deaf and dumb, halle barry was the worst catwoman ever in one of the worst movies ever. michelle pfeiffer was the closest there was to a good catwoman, but she played too crazy. Selena kyle was a very intelligeant and calculating socialite who comitted theft to fund wild cat species preservation. She wasnt some psycho in a suit. in any case, two of actresses your listing are now too old to play the part.

Michelle Pfeifer is THE Catwoman. Halle might be an ok actor, but doesn't hold a candle to Michelle's performance. Halle's catwoman was in a cheap suit, bad script & mediocre performance at best. She (Michelle) approached it from a psychological stand point, Hallie just wanted money and the tittle of the next Catwoman. No one will ever top Michelle, she gave her character inner conflict, human vulnerability and lets face it...she ooozes sex in every scene!!!

@cjguy50....I totally agree. Halle could've been a great woman. I just don't know what happened. I didn't like the director's 'vision'. Halle definitely has the 'look' to play Catwoman but...the movie was just off. Michelle's Catwoman performance was superior. Michelle was slightly unhinged and somewhat deranged young woman. *laugh* Halle was a woman who fought crime who thought herself a 'cat'. Anne Hathaway as 'Catwoman'? I don't like the idea but I'm suspending judgement.

@cjguy50 I wish people would stop comparing Halle Berry's Catwoman to Michelle Pfeiffer's. Michelle was playing the actual character of Selina Kyle from the comics, and Halle was not. She was playing a different character named Patience Phillips, so hers doesn't count. As for Michelle, Selina Kyle is not a blonde, ditzy character. Michelle could have at least dyed her hair dark for the role. Kate Beckinsale looks more like the raven-haired Selina Kyle. I'm undecided about Anne Hathaway.

@44excalibur Weeell, Pfeiffer's Catwoman lives in Tim Burton's mind, which is a lovely place to visit. She does not, however, live in the DC universe. Nor does the Jack Nicholson Joker, or Danny Devito Penguin. They are Burtonized. That doesn't mean they're not badass. It just means they're very different.

@TimDraketheRedRobin Well, that's my point. Burton is like Picasso, painting his Batman in very abstract, subjective ways. Nolan is more Rembrandt, painting Batman closer within the lines of the comics. But Pfeiffer still could have dyed her hair. Same thing goes for Val Kilmer in Batman Forever. Bruce and Selina are many things, but blonde is not one of them. :)
