I just said I was disappointed. If YOU like it, that's fine with me. But you'll have to admit that Muse definitely changed (which is ok in the first place). In my point of view they changed from extraordinary to ordinary. But that's purely subjective as you said.

It's funny that you would say that. When I first heard this I thought it sounded like a cross between Depeche Mode and something that Timbaland would have produced.

I'm not disappointed with it though. I see it as a evolution in their music. It feels as if they are trying to find a new sound that still defines them but also leads the way.

The only thing that is so strange about it is that is has a little too much of an 80's synth sound to it at times which will take some getting used to.

i just finished listening to the whole album for the third time and i think is beautifully wrote and extremely adventurous just like each new album they release. The lyrics and the drums to this album are a particular highlight for me and Exogenesis is my favourite part of the album. However i do miss some of the edge their previous albums have had with songs like KoC and New born and Stockholm Syndrome. So for me this is Muse 's worst album yet. Despite the fact i still love it!! 8/10 for me

Where is the bass line for most of this song?

Its better than 90% of the stuff in the charts, but it is nothing on the awesome older muse songs like Supermassive black hole, time is running out, map of the problematique, stokholme syndrome, knights and loads more incredible songs.

I reckon Muse wanted to try some new beats and music styles, because in the DVD that came with The Resistance they were talking about how this has some sort of Timbaland themes in it, while still having Matt's singing to be of Muse's own style, just my opinion xD
