The question I have is this: why is the cross of Christ efficacious for our salvation? I have read some of the greatest theologians of the Church with reference to this question and none of them have provided a good answer. Anselm, Aquinas, Calvin, et cetera, all leave a lot to be desired. Why is it that God the Father required the death of an innocent victim in order to pay the price for my sins? That is not justice! It is not loving either: love just forgives, it doesn't demand repayment.
@jather123 u see without the shedding of blood there is no forgiveness of sins. God is righteous and just in all his ways. and because of this God cannot just pat you on the back and forgive you your sins without a form of payment for those sins. So if Jesus Christ had not died for us God would not be able to forgive us because if he did his righteousness and justice would be challenged. But since Jesus Christ died on the cross for our sins God is able to forgive us our sins.
i was at this crusade every night in sheffield . i was only 17 and working for him . i had the chance one night to meet him . and i did and he took hold of my hand and said god bless ya .......... and i felt the love god gave him ...... i will never forget meeting him ....... god bless you billy
