@FRSFreeState Hi, as a Brit and a follower of US recent history and the Presidency, I agree. He was and remains a true humanitarian and his Presidency was marked by unforseeable and unsurmountable domestic and international issues of such copmlexity, they compromised his standing, unfairly, with the electorate. The only thing that I can criticise him for regarding Executive decision making, is the formation and arming of the Mujahideen some 6 months BEFORE the USSR invaded Afgahnistan.

It would be an eye opener to find out Carter actually supported Khomeini. Cause there is a lot of documentation out there in which the exact opposite is propogated.
