  • Superb video!

  • @theJetWork Thanks very much theJetWork I am pleased you liked the #AirbusA318 at London City thank you for your kind words.

  • @bananamanuk You have composed a most beautiful and wholly informative video bananamanuk. I live in the flight-path (take off) of LCA (Hertfordshire) and, on numerous occasions, was surprised to see the A318 fly overhead in that self same flight path. At first, I assumed it was an airspace 'change-about' given the amount of miltary aircraft (Apache heli's too) traversing the flight path; but now I know its a scheduled flight. Thank you for your vid bananamanuk. Best wishes. Ebs.

  • @Ebsteins31653 Hello Ebsteins31653 I am very grateful for your articulate and kind comment about my video of the British Airways #Airbus A318 at London City Airport. I believe this flight is now twice daily although it's been a while since I have been to LCY - I was told off for filming last time... typical Britain! Once again, my sincere thanks.

  • Sublime video, great quality! Excellent work man! :D

  • @florbor007 Hello florbor007 thank you very much, what a nice comment. I'm really grateful for the support it means a lot to me. Thank you for watching #Airbus #A318 at London City Airport and moreover for taking the time to post your comment.

  • You really do have the best aviation vids on YT! So fascinating LCY - NYC! Outstanding & brilliant capture!!! WOW!!

  • @matthiashaenni You are very kind indeed! thank you very much for your support and encouragement, I really appreciate it. I'm glad you liked the #Airbus A318 at #London City Airport. Best wishes.

  • Great vid. I can't believe an A318 is used for flights to New York - no doubt they refuel in Shannon.

  • @cirymarr Hi thanks for watching my video showing BA A318 takeoff at London City. You're right the A318 makes a fuel stop at Shannon on the way out, it also allows passengers to use preclearance at US Customs so they don't need to queue when arriving in NYC.

  • They fly this to New York and use the old BA Concorde flight bumbers...This plane stops in Ireland going westward.

  • @AccessAir Hello AccessAir that's right, the #British Airways #London City flights to New York operate via Shannon on the outbound leg and make use of the pre-clearance facility there making it easier to transit US immigration. Return leg is direct. THanks for watching.

  • And again a fantastic video from you mate! You are a master on this! Keep up the GREAT work :D

  • @ollo1982 Thanks a lot for your kind words about my video of British Airways A318 @LondonCity I'm glad you liked it.

  • loose the writing on the screen it is just narcissism and it obscures the picture.

  • @ABigOneLikeDaddys Thank you for your comment. There is nothing vain or self loving / egotistical about the logo on screen; it is there to stop people posting my work as their own which has happened a few times now.

  • @bananamanuk

    Dear Banana.,

The correct way to protect your so-called interests is to address the copiers with a writ from the court.

    .

Your doing what you do does nothing to protect yourself it only makes you live a compromised life.

Any viewer's life is compromised, too, by having to view the polluted work.

    .

    Cheers.

    from,

    del-boy.

  • @ABigOneLikeDaddys I do not feel I am living a compromised life as a result of my work. You are the first person to suggest their life is compromised by the on screen logo. I wonder, you must have great difficulty watching television since virtually every TV channel has this "pollution", do you write and inform those channels about how they are compromising their viewers lives?

  • @superbroombroom Hi thanks for watching my London City Airport video of the #airbus A318. The aircraft have to be especially certified to operate at LCY, I recall a couple of years ago Aer Arann became the first operator to get the ATR72 certified, then the Embraers had to do the same. As LCY is a STOL airport (short takeoff and landing) I would imagine the training reflects this.

  • hard to beleve that the a318 goes to america

  • @tracey967 thanks for watching my #londoncity video. This A318 makes a stop on the outward journey at Shannon and then continues, this also allows for use of Ireland's pre-US Customs clearance facility. The return leg is direct due to favourable winds. Thanks for your comment. #aviationvideos

  • @bananamanuk I understood the stop-over was actually due to the shorter runway at London City meaning the jet was unable to take off with sufficient fuel for the full journey?

  • @haydnjames Hello Haydnjames, yes you are quite right, the A318 cannot take a full fuel load at LCY due to the runway length, that is the actual reason for the SNN stopover. I wasn't explicity clear before, I just meant that BA have taken advantage of the SNN US customs pre-clearance facility. Thanks for watching.

  • @tracey967 lol i think the same!!^^

  • The reason why it stops off at Shannon is because a fully-fuelled A318 is unable to take-off at London City airport due to the short runway. Its not a problem on the inbound as nearly all the fuel is burnt prior to landing!

  • That is A LOT of airplane landing in ones backyard....yes! As a replacement for Concorde, BA came up with a nice product. There is literally acres of room for the premium cabin passenger.

  • @hotelgulf718 thanks for watching my @LONDONCITY video these new A318 look good from the outside but i imagine they are amazing inside with a ticket price to match of course. thanks for your comment

  • Remarkable little airplane. So Cool.

  • @hotelgulf It's the baby airbus, but for a little plane, it' looks very big at LCY :-) thanks for watching

  • what's the one at 0:13?

  • @wagwagwigwam That was an Embraer 175. Thanks for watching, hope that helps.

  • This tiny Bus is packing some power!

  • @repsollenny Hi repsollenny, yeah the A318 certainly has some power; it only has 32 seats so probably much lighter than others, impressive to see at a small airport like LCY

  • You are ALLRIGHT..man..!!!

  • Hey bananaman from UK; ....With that camerawork; you cannot be allowed to be sitting around the house..Get out there and film more stuff for us..!! Great work buddy..!!!

  • @mogutty Hi mogutty, thanks a lot for your comment, I'm pleased you liked the video and took time to comment. I'll try and get some more videos uploaded soon - once my head swell has subsided :-)

  • Superb quality vid! Amazing work! Thumb up for that!

  • @matthiashaenni Thanks very much for your kind comment. I really appreciate that.

  • I wouldn't trust this aircraft going to JFK..

Not a fan of any airbus aircraft, but lovely quality on the video..

    You definitely need a tripod..

By the way, did you see the amount of rudder he had to use, what were the winds at the time?

  • @deanow2007 Hi deanow2007 thanks for your message. This aircraft must be ETOPS qualified to fly transatlantic so that wouldn't be an issue, it's got 32 seats so much lighter than a standard configured aircraft in that respect. I'm not sure what the wind speeds were on this day but it was a pretty miserable and wet day!

  • @deanow2007 it goes to jfk via shannon in ireland. it uses shannon as a refueling stop. i should know i live near shannon airport. i see this aircraft landing every day

  • on the website it says there is a stopover on this flight where is it?

  • @Yotube12376 Hello Yotube12376 sorry for the slow reply, have ben away from PC. The stopover on the BA transatlantic flight from LCY is in Shannon on the west coast of Ireland. It's only on the outward leg, allows to top up with fuel and for passengers to use US Customs facilities so when arrive at JFK they go through domestic arrivals. No refuel required on return due to jetstream.

  • That's the way to travel to Kennedy.

  • @bagelboi66 Yeah I'd have to agree there.. the only thing is the need to save a lot of pennies to afford it though!

  • wow i dindt knew that vln flyed into LCY

  • i cant stand how short that plane is

  • @Tcook96 Not sure how to respond to that Tcook96, I guess each to their own. The plane is short because its the smallest of the Airbus family, admittedly it looks dumpy but i doubt anything bigger would be able to land at London City Airport.

  • @bananamanuk i just like the a320 & a321 alot better haha. they look better

  • Really nice video

I come to the uk every summer to Coventry

I always ask my parents if the could take me to go plane spotting at heathrow and London city

  • @mrfanclub747 Thanks mrfanclub747... if you go to Coventry every summer you may be better off visiting Manchester or Birmingham you get a good variety at those airports and they would be a bit closer.

  • its an erj-175

  • Does anybody know the type of plane it is at 0.15, with the BA colours

  • @trvwatson Hello trvwatson, the plane is an Embraer 175, I think BA also now have the larger 195 also operating from LCY

  • @trvwatson definitely an embraer

  • Nice video, whats it like over on the walkway, is it very busy with walkers etc?

  • @MrPhotographyUK Hi MrPhotograpyUK thanks for your comment. I'm not sure which walkway you mean; over on the airport itself, where the short stay parking is, there is a covered walkway I've been there once and it wasn't very busy although security were there logging the car no within minutes. The side I filmed this was the Royal Albert Docks it can get fairly busy there, but nothing like a high-street just families and ppl walking dogs etc. hope that helps

  • 14 sec to fly ... awsome1

  • @dvincego hi there dvincego thanks for posting your comment, it's an impressive takeoff

  • ABSOLUTE DISGRACE, the flight number that is (001)... When Concorde last flew BA vowed never to use the historic flight number ever again. Did they hope people would simply forget their promise? Unbelievable, destroying their heritage in the name of profit.

  • @cheesemaster1000 hello cheesemaster1000, thanks for taking time to comment, you clearly hold strong views surrounding the use of Concorde's flight numbers. Two things come to my mind, 1 is how likely it that most of the general public will think these are concordes flight numbers, 2, even if they did, is BA not trying to give a sense of exclusivity by re-using them? I'm not saying I disagree wit your comment.

  • A318 series only certified with CFM engines

  • @FireInTheSkies Thanks for your insight FireInTheSkies and for taking time to post it here.

  • @bananamanuk No worries, I work at LCY on the Embraer so I've been inside the A318 flightdeck! Very nice indeed, more roomy than the Embraers thats for sure.

  • @FireInTheSkies Take a look at my video of circuits at Prestwick in one of our Embraer 190s!!

  • GREAT vid

  • @matthiashaenni Thanks a lot matthiashaenni I am pleased you enjoyed.

  • @greengoblin200 Hi greengoblin200, they promote this as a premium service and the ticket prices confirm that! I think this service is probably almost entirely used by business people who's business' pay for the trips.

  • @rb211747 haha, thanks very much for taking time to comment rb211747, I'm pleased you liked the quality.

  • @bananamanuk so why didnt BA use IAE engines n their a318's? they use IAE engines on almost all of their a320-family planes except a318's.. i wonder why?

  • @seaboo143 hi seaboo143, sorry that's a question i cannot answer however hopefully someone else will. Thanks for posting your question.

  • Great im Faving!

  • @megaplanefan thanks, glad you like the vid.

  • The A318 was going to New York :D , great , 5*****

  • I love the Aer Arann ATR =))

I had the pleasure to have a few flights with this great airline.

    Anyway, great vid =)) 5*

  • Hi mturrini thanks a lot for your commet. Stay tuned to my channel because I have plans to upload a new Aer Arann video soon, I've been trying to capture some shots of the Celtic Rings livery before they disappear.

  • are they getting rid of it ?? :(

  • @roryj123ok Hello rory123ok, thanks for your comment. I've not heard anything about BA getting rid of this service, as far as I know it was performing well for them and recently there was speculation about adding services...

  • @bananamanuk i meant getting rid of the celtic rings

  • @Aviationnation10 Hi aviationnation10 they've painted over the 4 aircraft that had the celtic rings for the Aer Lingus Regional work, or at least are scheduled to, I think EI-REO was first then REL, REM leaving REP which I last saw at LCY on 7th March. They are supposed to be getting in additional aircraft to cover but unclear what livery they'll be painted in.

  • Awesome quality video! I love watching this! Do you have any other videos?

  • Hello mke312,thanks for your comment, I'm pleased you liked the video and the HD quality. Yes I have over 20 other videos here on Youtube please take a look at my channel. I'm about to start backing up some of my footage to dvd as well. Stay tuned to my channel for more videos this year!

  • The BA Embraers are much more interesting, I prefer to see those. ;-) Still a great video!

  • Firts time that I see these little A318 in BA colors. I was wondered that it's flying form

London City. So nice vid and nice music 5*

  • Very kind frequentairbusflyer, your vids are excellent so thanks for your comment.

  • i've got nothing against BA (they are one of my favorite airlines') but why do they operate the A318 from london city to new york JFK? if u dont believe me it says on the BA fleet website:S

  • Hi Marmalade624 thanks for commenting. I can't really comment on the commercial reasons for BA operating the route, but from an aviation point of view, it's very impressive to watch a larger airliner operating on a short runway. Thanks again

  • What I meant was, such a tiny plane, such a long flight! Thanks for your detailed reply anyways:-)

  • Excellent! What camera do you have?

  • Hello TheAviationSpotter97 thanks for your comment, really pleased you liked the video. I use a Sony HDRFX7

  • no probs your videos are best i have seen on youtube:)please keep them coming:)
