@MeestaBojangles ,IF YOU NOTICE ON THE PLAY ,THE LINEMAN GOT BEAT SO BAD ON THE PLAY THAT HE ENDED UP IN THE BACKFIELD SO FAST THAT AARON BROOKS THOUGHT HE WAS DEUCE MCCALLISTER ,THATS WHY HE THREW THE BALL, CUZ HE THOUGHT HE WAS A RUNNING BACK ,LINEMAN ARE NOT USUALLY SPOTTED THAT FAR BACK IN THE BACKFIELD ,IT CAUSED CONFUSION FOR BROOKS
@MeestaBojangles what the fuck dude? aaron brooks was a boss. and marshawn lynch? fucking kidding me man i know youve seen that shit against the saints. youre a fuckin dumbasss
@sanjuancapistranorap Aaron brooks was a boss cmon!!!!! the same guy that orchestrated the Backwars spiral pass LOL man stop doing drugs!!!!!! And Lynch is good though one of the main reason's the seahawks won ova the Saints but he aint no Barry Sanders that run was a result of bad tackeling.
The Saints were on a roll that year until Brooks got hit on a play and his shoulder seemed alot different after that hit I believe it was John Lynch or Derrick Brooks that put that hit on him,Saints fans know what I'm talking about and they quickly rush Brooks back in that season and it messed everything up that year. Not to mention all the good defensive players we had lost like Sammy Knight Le'roy Glover and Joe Johnson that broke my heart when we lost those guys.
in the 2000 season Jim Haslett helped the Saints have their 1st playofff win. from 2002-2004 the Saints missed the playoffs due to tie-breakers.
Including in the 04' season when the Saints beatin' the Panthers in the last game of the season but the Jets lost to the Rams which kept the Saint from going to the playoffs.
2005 season wasn't the Saints fault it was Katrina's fault especially when the Saints had no "home" Stadium.
MAN WAT ARE DA SAINTS ATHLETIC DIRECTOR NOT SEEING!!!? THOSE RETRO UNIFORMS ARE BEAUTIFUL!!! DEY SHOULD WEAR THOSE INSTEAD OF THE UNIFORMS DEY WEAR NOW
The 2002 New Orleans Saints...this Saints team probably pissed me off more than any other Saints teams, which is saying a lot. Started out 9-4, then lost the last three games to teams with sub .500 records to finish 9-7, and, of course, miss the playoffs. This season was a microcosm of the Saints franchise. Until 2009, that is...
@ktrh740 I hear ya, especially considering we went 2-0 against the eventual SB champ Bucs that year. The worst was losing to a 1-13 Cincy team, when I win would've meant playoffs.
Although '04 was prob my most painful. Creep back from 4-8 to go 8-8 with a stunner win in Carolina. All we need is a Jet win over St. Loo. Goes to OT, Jets miss potential game winning FG. Rams end up winning and go to the dance over us. I laid on my floor face down for a solid 10min after that. Sickening.
fuk it we got pierre who runs just like him!!! they are almost like father n son! i love the exploding reggie bush too!!! gotta watch that quick mutha fuka lol he can kill u if ur not careful..i never did like mike bell..even we was doing good...he was too worried about running somone over instead of getting the yards.
yeh iknow....iliked bell..!! iLike bush and Pierre better though...bell always tried to run over people instead of getting the yards..bush is kinda the same..but he is like a bomb ready to explode..kinda like the game vs the cards.
@hxcboy69 Like who, McCray, Fujita, and Bell? I'm not saying those three were horrible, but if I can't bring everybody back, those would be the players I would give up without losing sleep. We signed 21 of the 22 starters from the Super Bowl, what more do you want?
Brooks got screwed by the NFL... He threw for 3,800+ yards twice... Make him a white QB, e/ his talent level, he would still be in the league playing "inconsistently". Fuck the double standard
All yall talkin bad about Aaron Brooks needs 2 stop it, he was inconsistant, but when he was on, he was the man. B honest, if the Saints defense was as good then as it is now, they woulda won more. Check his stats, Aaron did his thing.
I absolutely hate to say it, but you're right. I just wish his attitude had been a lot better. Him laughing his ass off after losing a game that would have secured a Playoff spot REALLY rubs a Saints fan the wrong way!
exactly man. hatin ass white mufuckas can't give a black qb his due... brees is the best n.o. qb but brooks put up some great numbers over the years... but every black qb is disrespected no matter what they do
uh, yeah, my point exactly... McNabb is the least intercepted QB of all time (int./attempts), has taken his team to the SB and several Conf championships (often w/ no running game, throwing 40-50 times a game), but all anyone talks about is getting rid of him... But Philip Rivers, Romo, Hasselback, Carson Palmer, are promoted as superstars... McNabb isn't the best ever and those guys are all good, but the scrutiny on most of them is nowhere near as intense
3 highlights? anyway the best saints 1989-1993. Anyway the Saints of today are officially going to take that role. The new, revamped defense owns and of course the offense is awesome. DOME POTROL.
I wanted to forget this era. Back in the day for me is Bobby Hebert, Eric Martin, Dalton Hillard , and the Dome Patrol. This video other then Duece, Joe Horn and Lewis is forgetable. Aarron Brooks was horrible, as soon as the Saints cut him loose he had one more year with the Raiders and out of the league.
I know the Saints were horrible in that Hasslet era but they've always entertained me... We were always unpredicable.. even we always had loosing season, there is always something in the media about this team. We Have the BEST FANS EVER!!!

Yeah Aaron Brooks did make a lot of crazy mistakes, he just didn't play within though he wasgood QB for the Saints, if he had just stayed focused and stop lackin concentration.
He does throw some some ood deep bomb passes also.
They weren't horrible, they were the epitome of average at this time. From 01-04 they were 32-32, that's about as average as it gets.
Totally agree on the unpredictableness though. One week they'd thrash a contender and the next week they'd lose to the Lions or Browns or some shyte. I'll probably die 10 years before my time because of the early '00's teams from this vid.
The River City Relay followed by Carney's miss sums up the Haslett era in a nutshell. One big tease.
Man thanx for this video i don't watch the saints anymore because they tore that team apart but back then Aaron, Joe, Deuce, Donte', Jerome i loved that team.....wtf is a reggie bush and a drew brees.
i agree that Deuce is better than Reggie cause Reggie is injury prone, but wtf do you mean by saying Drew Brees?? He is way better than Aaron Brooks dude..
Anyways..This was back in the day definetly, probably 2004 era. I remember watchin these guys all the time....lose, but still watched...Brooks, McAlister, Horn, Stallworth, Bentley.......the good "bad" old days....
Are you kidding? This year the Saints are probably the best in the history of the team. Brees is a million times better than Brooks. I do miss Deuce, he was badass back in those days (I think this was 2003, I was in the stands for all of these plays). Reggie is struggling with fumbles, that much is true. If the team uses him as an outside back and short receiver, he's as good as anybody in the league though, just need to stop trying to run it up the middle with him.
i completely agree aaron brooks has to be the worst piece of shit to ever touch a football...they should've made him pay for a ticket to get into the dome
