After u hear jeff buckley.Music no longer remains the same!! No singer looks gud anymore.........only jeff buckley. You want to hear him only him...He makes diehard fans willing to give their life for him in just 5 minutes. He was a singing magician.A Mozart. He reminds me of perfume movie. His voice does the same effect..like a fragrance of million roses...scattered around him..intoxicating n chaining our souls...making us his slaves. n Slaves we r!
his guitar tones are so haunting. not to mention that boyish unyielding spacious voice. i often think of the morning i found jeff buckley. i was 14. he changed my life.
Jeff had a way of "resting" in some of the songs he performed, I think, and it seems very organic in a way, like it just flowed from every part of him. And it's so fantastic to hear him perform this for 6 minutes, and it's not rushed or forced, it just is. Ah, I can't really explain, but I'm sure you get me.
Rest in peace Jeff :')
Nothing left to say..just close your eyes and cry. how i miss him,his music... the world wasn't the right place for him...maybe heaven is. rare talent. one of the best..
god, when i hear this...a voice like an angel...and this emotion...beautiful perfection.
Such an awe-inspiring talent deserves better than cliches.... but I can't help but think that the flame that shines twice as bright, burns half as long.... And how very brightly you shone, Jeff. You will always be missed :)
Grazie a presto
No one has ever, nor perhaps anyone will ever channel music like Jeff did. At least no one that I know of. It's unbelievable. It's like he couldn't die, didn't die.
How does he do it? every performance, he weaves some kind of MAGIC, enchants the audience, and makes me feel each word go straight to my soul, for me HE IS THE MUSIC!
Jeff is the only artist I have ever heard who never does the same song twice live. This guy just let the music flow through him each performance, each song .....something different came out every time and it was always beautiful. One of the few artists in the history of music who was TRULY connected intimately with music
I never knew what TRUE and raw beauty was, until I heard Jeff Buckley's voice, understood his lyrics, was enchanted by his music and was blessed by his soul.
i know no one comes close to this level but i think this album kind of sounds like him: cdbaby.com/cd/branthooks, theres also a full song clip on my channel
@nolicnotrut Folk music ???? Folk music is been written today. Blues and Soul music goes back MUCH more. Guess you need to get an education regarding music.
@nolicnotrut I embrace any 'education', so thank you.
I disagree. If it's been 'written today', it might be in a folk style, but it's NOT folk music until it has entered the communal consciousness through oral transmission.
I take your point about blues, but soul is a relatively recent commercial product.
That does not mean that it's not good. It just needs to gestate for a generation-or-so before it becomes genuine 'folk'.
brilliant. "lilac wine is sweet & heady like my love." (2:26). a mysterious, confusing thing this love to which we are are so drawn. jeff is not just signing lyrics that he's memorized. his performance is dripping with raw emotion dug from deep inside-- the difference between a good performance and a truly memorable performance. I miss your haunting voice and your passion Jeff.
When Jeff Buckley was on muisically he could reach in the heart and minds and any human being alive. The military should go around in Iraq and Afganistan and play some of Jeff Buckley's most beautiful and sensitive songs on speakers. If I heard it I would drop my gun immediately and contemplate the real potential of the human animal....God bless Jeff Buckley, always god bless and my adorable mother.
Whenever he's on stage he improvises everything - I've never seen that in a musician before, even Jimi Hendrix or Page stick to the guidelines but he just sings it and plays it how he wants whenever he wants to - SO talented.
Jeff is a reminder of how unfair life is. Listening to his music is a catch 22 because it's facinatingly beautiful and passionate, almost addictive but his death is so upsetting. Jeff changed my life, he hit the nail on the head, in his music and his beliefs. Fantastic.
isn't that weird that I feel like i know him? He's like my best friend. He always have answers to my problems. He is the one who sings songs to calm me when I cry or feel depressed. I broke up with my girlfriend and he was there for me. I made a mistake and he was there to make me see what I did. How come a dead soul can be this closer than any living being to me?
@poppyheads09 i know what you mean, those types of feelings that you might feel only once in a lifetime are near perfect. i wish i 'understood' how you feel though.
Nina Simone is one of my favourite artists of all time, but I still think Jeff Buckley sings this song better. The emotion in his voice is incomparable! He was an amazing artist and a huge loss to the world of real music.x.x.x R.I.P.
