  • wat a bwoy bad

  • it just hit me..

that dennis brown is the reggae version of james brown...

so clean in there styles... untouchables

  • @bambusoulja Nothing similar between the two. People need to stop comparing Jamaican artists to Americans. Jamaicans can stand on their own.

  • @kwacou ...

Yo bro they have many similar attributes Open your eyes or ears I should say..

The comparing will never end dude ...to compare does not mean to judge..

Most of the early Jamaican music was sampled from American songs and many of the first D.j.s and singers would mimic American styles..

    know your history!

  • Sorry I meant Al Green!!!!!

    seriously I was mistaken

  • @kwacou Yes, of course Jamaicans and Jamaican music can stand on their own. Tthat doesn't mean you can compare musicians from Jamaica, America and elsewhere, or that the artists have not been influenced by each other over the years. It's not a put-down. Bambusoulja is right.

  • 3:32 so sweet

  • who is the engineer there?

  • @Lebowski69 He is Sylvan Morris.

  • He is ranked with Bob Marley, and actually Marley acknowledged him as one of tthe best,,,,love reggea.

    Skank.

  • Never a flat note, This sounds mixed already! He has absolute perfect timing and melodic instinct!! Pure confidence!

  • R.I.P. Brother Dennis Brown. He was Bob Marley favorite singer for a reason!

  • The night D. Brown passed was as huge to me as when Biggie died. Me and my boy from Bermuda were the only two who flipped out in the club when they made the announcement. At a Reggae club no less. Needless to say the people there actually knew nothing about the music.

  • RIP Dennis

  • To me he had the best reggae singing voice period and I was so happy to get to watch him before he did

DENNIS THE MENACE BROWN PRINCE OF REAGGAE MUSIC RIP>>>>>>>> RASTA FARI

  • Such a voice..gone but not forgotten

  • i always love watching live performances no matter the artist is. they need more vids of live or studio performances mos def.

  • personally Dennis Browns voice is the best male vocalist of all time....I mean that...the only person I can think of that comes close...is is the lead singer of jodeci...I think his name is k-ci. As far as being dark complexion...you are exactly right...if you are dark you sometimes dont get the acknowledgement, and acclamation as being outstanding as you should get...

  • Jah bless Denis brown let him shine again.

  • I CANNOT get enough of this KING! JEez, the first time I heard his voice on How Could I Live, I was instantly in love...I am 25 born in us and had been hearing all kinds of reggae music growig up, but I cannot remember hearing this voice as a child, I feel soooo cheated! IGottalot to make up for...

  • im 23 and this my first time seeing this, Wow i am so amazed, im jamaican, i always heard this voice growing up and i finally got to see the magic on youtube, i cant wait to go in the studio, jah bless

  • D.E.B - An inspiration and infuence to future generations of reggae singers myself included..bless up and thanks Dennis..we love you!!

  • Dennis Brown... im feeling ya dread mon..... rude boy ...

    jah bless

  • Riles me to think this man has not had anywhere near his due in the music world!!! If he was in another genre and not a black Jamaican he would be on a par with Jackson/beatles!!

  • @bluemushroomneil with success comes commercialism, this is real music by a real artist.

enjoy it with the rest of us enlightened ones.

  • @bluemushroomneil

dude he is in jamaica just a small island so alot of countries dont hear about him

  • NO GRAMMY..AND THOSE HALF WHITE MARLEY SOFT CORE REGGAE BOYS HAVE MANY....

They cant touch dennis or luciano or sizzla......

  • So True but like they say once you black get back and if ur brown u can stick around. We who are of the darker complexion have to fight really hard in this life but Jah sees and knows.

  • The vibes man in every sense of the word. How can one man touch your soul in such a deep and spiritual way?? RIP Dennis Emmanuel Brown, love always. x

  • This is the voice of a genius, up there with Elvis MJ and Tom Jones. Respect Higher Sir Dennis Brown... thanks for the posting was a real insight into this Beethoven of Jamaican reggae.

  • when music hits u...u feel no pain...theres no other music like rockaz...the foundation shall forever live on

  • Tru that, sometimes it's audio sexx.

What ever, music, it's the pleasure principle.

  • NOBODY can sing like Dennis Emmanuel Brown. I don't care what anyone wants to say about him. He had the most pure singing voice with great range, he could sing anything not just reggae.

  • I 2nd dat....keep it blazin missa brown.RIP.

  • Yeah, agree!!

  • 100% correct Curvesohyeah. I have been saying this for so many years

Dennis Brown is undoubtly the Greatest .

  • YYYYEEESSS!!! U said it best, no exagg...he REALLY can sing anything, he sings black american songs better than the original artist, and he just shits on any cover done by white artists...just truth to me! I LOVE HIM!!!! He makes me cry!

  • @Curvesohyeah you so right! love dis man 4ever!!!!

  • @Curvesohyeah Yes! No one compares to mr Dennis Brown! Such a pure and soulful voice. His voice and music makes you feel so good. When his music comes on, doesn't matter what you're doing, you can't help but groove to the soulful sounds of the great Dennis Brown!

  • that a spliff dumbfucks!

  • ......what the heck rasta's are against smoking cigaretts haha! I know that dennis brown did have drug problems but bob? naw man he only smoked the earth ganja.

  • Strict rastas don't smoke cigarrettes because of the chemicals, and cos it's been proved worst for health than ganja.

BTW, why to smoke and hurt your lungs if you are not getting in meditation or trascendental status, or feeling closer to Jah? Cigarrette as far as I know has not that effect, but only the hurting side :-P

  • Agree, cigs they only prompt early digs.

Enjoy the life, not bury it..

  • bob tried other drugs to big mon.

  • yeah dude i dont ever remember reading or hearing about bob smoking three packs a day or ever developing lung cancer.. either you got some bad info or ur on some serious drugs

  • so sad he ruined his lungs with all of that smoke, drugs crack..just plain Crazy. Drugs have killed and silenced many a voice. I dont care if its percription or recreational..Crack kills..dennis unfortunately could not see this..very sad and tragic./ bob marley smoked three packs of cigarettes a day. of course the lungs gave out and he aquired lung cancer. 3 packs a day? Outragous and crazy..but we all have our vices i guess.

  • bob marley died of cancer at the toe that spread through his body for not receving treatment

  • Sure we all have our vices. The point is: what gives a man the right to judge another man's addictions?

After all was him who lost the voice and the life. What happens is tha people is really selfish and only care about them not being able to hear new songs from the prince. I don't know if that is good or bad...

  • my favourite singer for ever

  • The greatest ever reggae vocalist.

    Chokes me up. R.I.P. Dennis.

  • Rawkin Taim!!!

    Sing it!!

  • Jah people gon keep on Movin. Dennis is with Jah now
