Beautiful. Man, I have such a crush on Lorette and I've never met her. Her version of How It Rained has slayed every single person I've ever played it to. Anybody who can't find beauty in her voice and playing is stone, tone deaf.
My God, pianoman! Thanks for the enlightening comment. There are not enough Portishead and Billy Joel videos to keep you company? "*CAN* sing ;)"? You're not asking for a refund are you? Take your moderate ears elsewhere!
@roastingears Oh I apologize. I should've checked first that you were involved in this stuff yourself, because you guys are known to be veeeeery biased about your own productions, let alone prevent people from viewing a video at best if we're not planning to write rave reviews on here. We'll make an agreement: I WILL take my moderate ears elsewhere, and you promise to do the same with your bias. A perfect deal!
Biased is a slim-minded description. Portishead vocals are just fine. Vocals here suit me fine, too. You appear incapable of making a deal. First you complain about vocals, then you wanna shake hands? I haven't checked, but perhaps your comments are not encouraged on Portishead postings either. Go start a fire on a Billy Joel video.
if you would have "checked first" you would have also noticed that this here was prior to portishead - although nobody needs a comepition anyway - so just chill
i was at the alex chilton warehouse party where this video was previewed. evryone knew lorette as the tough hellcat. they saw this and you could've heard a pin drop. so cool. not to mention alex actually did the best heartfelt show i ever saw him do.
she and the hellcats would open for him and then the girls would go go dance onstage when tav played-they were very young and talented-it was at the s o b house in little rock arkansas-i was impressed to say the least...tooth
I had never seen this but it does remind me I had a crash on Lorette for a long time. Part Oshun, part Frida, part Japanese... She is sheer elegance. Shame I didn´t manage to interview her for my zine.
I must correct you.Thats the Panther Burns.Tav got the name from my exhusband, who passed the plantation on the highway down in Mississippi. Both of them thought it was an interesting name.
I guess she must have the cramps.

I don't think Loretta was ever tough. When she was living with Tav, she never said boo to anybody.

Beautiful. This should be the theme to a future Bond film.

Of course she dated the equally elegant Mr. Falco...

I am curious what you boys think a date is.
