  • this is one of my faverite and intese movies" I got the angrenline rush when I watched this for the first time.

  • 2:56 BLOWJOB lmao

  • i hate non colored movies

  • Clearly the biggest budget of any Twilight Zone episode ever! ;)

  • aw gee i havent wached twilight zone in forever! thanks!

  • Those Are Apes ?

  • one of my faverite movies of all time;

  • who knows the name of the instrument or a sound that plays few seconds at the very beginning of the clip ?

  • this was made in the state of utah, near or in the greate salt lake.

  • @Gaara39823 The humans traveled into an alternate universe

  • @Gaara39823 Yea its the future. watch the new Rise of The Planet of the Apes trailer. Its a new movie that will explain how the apes managed to gain control over earth.

  • At 2:56 a man gets a bj by two other men breifly.haha

  • why is this B/W?

  • Very nice re-framing. Space Hospital has its own vision of how the apes take over...

  • One of the best FUC**** movie scores ever! Goldsmith must have been listening to some Stravinsky when he composed this score.

  • I have know idea what it says.

  • Yeah, yeah I get what you were doing, but this is dumb. This is the product of what happens when someone gets bored with a dvd ripper and a copy of windows movie maker. If you want o do a homage to Twilight Zone then get out a camera and put in the work.

  • @pljames82 You so don't get it. Rod actually began it as a short story format. This is also a great example of how editing can tell a story in a different way. You loose 30 IQ points (Sorry...that's the rules, I didn't make em up).

  • y the fuck is it in black and white ?

  • @fgypsy45 Because its a homage to twilight zone kid.

  • @fgypsy45 Your a fuckin retard...

  • @fgypsy45 i guess you dont know who rod serling is either

  • @THEADAYINTHEVALLEY1 is that what u bother people about on the net jesus christ

  • If you have to ask this question then your IQ is lowered 50 points automatically (Sorry...that's the rules).

  • At least I get to see some parts of the movie. I havent seen this in years.

  • Serling's narration was taken from "Elegy"

  • awsom movie

  • Watch the black dude get killed first... They always do..... Uhhh did....

  • 2:55 - 2:58 gay moment.

  • Outstanding job, nice splicing..you are talented!

  • hmm i watched this movie 2years ago and there were a colored version, wellwell i have to be lucky with this one here:(

  • first movie i saw in US with my first friend in US, frank.

  • i had to do my makeup before this lol i did it all black!

  • So was this before the POTA movie?

  • @NorthStar20121

No, this doesn't predate POTA, it's all scenes from the movie whittled down to episode length.

The original screenplay was written by Rod Serling, and this is just a fun way to see the movie as if it were a Twilight Zone episode.

  • @Holdenon3 ah cheers, i didnt know that

  • This is very clever and very useful thank you.

  • I need to see battle for planet of the apes please upload soon!!

  • missing something

  • This is not the tower of terror u idiot.

  • heyokamagazine - What drugs are you taking?

  • don't know about you guys but the first thing i would do on what i believed to be an alien planet would not be getting naked with two other dudes!

  • Damn black-white, ahh well this 'll do

  • this is so good, I've watched it a few times already, you really did a great job editing this, it actually looks and sounds like a lost episode from TZ, and you managed to get the entire PLanet of the Apes story, very nice

  • KILLER MONKEYS

  • this video is so interesting to watch.

  • I like the B&W look and the full framing of the image from scope to 4:3.

5:58 "We got off at the wrong stop."

"Your suppose to be the optimums Landon? Look on the bright side. If this is the best they got around here in 6 months we’ll be running this planet."

Still this is a chilling film and works just as good today as it did around late 1968, right up to the final end where Taylor had the last joke played on him.

"Damn you. oh god damn you all to hell"

  • at least someone is making some sense

  • When was this made? Is it an unaired episode or something? I don't see much info on it when I Google it.

  • @AsiaPhoenix2008 It's a mash up, combination of original PoTA and TZ intro.

  • Planet Of The Apes did seem like a two hour episode of The Twilight Zone. Rod Serling did cowrite the story. Jerry Goldsmith who did the musical score to many episodes of the series also was involved with the movie as its composer. Great movie during its time. Aged well like wine. An all time sci fi classic. Not even Tim Burton could do a version that could top the original film from 1968.

  • @Lurvy1963

    I strongly concur.

  • This is not the beginning...something is cut. There was a woman astronaut with them, but she was dead. Water is coming in and they are jumping out of the ship.

  • @whiskeyify

yeh dude i remember something like that to or maybe i dream t it I'm not real sure now so don't take me as gospel.

  • I am in the Twilight Zone is this a mock up episode using the movie as footage.=?

  • wow, I saw all five of the movies at the drive-in (as they came out), but I did not know it came from here.

  • This. Is. F'ing. Brilliant. Nice cut.

  • Imagine a world where the Twilight Zone was around today with Morgan Freeman as the narrator and J.J. Abrams as the writer and Michael Giacchino as the composer. Wouldn't be truly an awe inspiring epic? It would be completely new stories and not just tributes to the originals. It would make people think and be intrigued by the mystery and possibilities of the unknown dangers of human nature, the paranormal, futuristic and disturbing events with morals. Anybody think this would be a cool idea?

  • máximo............

  • oh. i forgot. Rod Sterling wrote the screen

play for Planet of the Apes!

  • the planet of the apes movie franchise was one of the greatest ever made a long with Jurassic Park, and lord of the rings. then they made that new movie which was bull crap

  • First Twilight Zone episode (in spirit) was the movie "It's a Wonderful Life."

  • They should keep making more twlight zone shows, it was a great sci fi show and it helped educate the people of para normal activities. We should all be suspicious of foreign invaders, or something alien. Twlight zone was that tool we used to gain this information.

  • I give you plus comment because there's no way you were serious.

  • wow you really are lacking in some significant tv history

  • @dragonair854 i don't think the Twilight Zone change to color until the revival in the 80s

  • Comment removed

  • @landosalemchainsaw I think the last episode of the original Twilight Zone (the Dollhouse in the museum episode) I think that was in color..... .but this ain't that ep lol....

  • @snozberries I know but i was saying that if it was a twilight zone ep it would be in B&W

  • i consider planet of the apes twilight zone 157.

  • Great movie.. I loved the TV show as well

  • those men at the beginning look like apes themselves

  • Ummm no, they where white.

  • wow the movie was made really good... but i know its just youtube with bad quality

  • The lake and the waterfall where they go for a swim is the same one they used in Lost in Space's 3rd season episode Hunters Moon for the chase sequence.

  • Once I saw it on full colour..surprising end....

    :-)

  • Why dont upload it without the black and white?

  • Yes, Rod Serling co-wrote the screenplay for the original "Planet of the Apes" movie, and provided the twist ending. The novel, upon which the ending is based, did not have the twist, and Pierre Boulle, who wrote the book, later said he wished he had provided such a twist. Parts of the movie were condensed, and converted into black-and-white, in an effort to re-imagine it, as an original Twilight Zone episode. I think it is a great idea, and was very well done. Five stars!

  • @Teflon65 The book didn't have the same twist at the ending, but it had an entirely different twist. In my opinion the book is even more heart-wrenching in how it pulls the rug out from under the main character's feet.

  • why there is no color?

  • its made in 1968

  • okay people were all aware this is actually a movie but its an editing job and quite a good one!

    good job man! :P

  • Rod Serling wrote the screenplay for Planet Of The Apes. No wonder it plays like a Twilight Zone episode!

  • The original draft was written by Michael Wilson.

  • This is from the movie.

  • haha, this is part of the 1968 movie, douche bags

  • Hay, I remember this film being in color. I also remember that it was its own movie -in other words, not an episode of Twilight Zone.

  • song is twilight zone right?

  • 2:57 just looks weird lol

  • lol this is the shit version of planet of the apes i wasted 5 pound on this

  • u lost five pounds while watching this clip?? what did u do...?

  • "Pounds" is the English currency system. Or were you just making a joke?

  • No pounds is also American weight. And he seems American.

  • @whooperpooper86 i think he's referencing the joke from mr.deeds

  • @whooperpooper86 probably masturbated

  • I always knew Rod's involvment...Wow, this is truly beautifully executed.

    Dr. J.J.

    Toronto

  • Brilliant job of editing!!

  • I love the twilight zone series.....brings back memories....lol even though I wasn't even born when it was first on tv lol. I love the fact that the Hollywood Tower Hotel in Disney theme parks are inspired by this. Awesome.

  • way to mash up 2 classics into one pile

  • great just great^()^

  • So is the movie based on this episode? Just wondering

  • No, not based on a "Twilight Zone" episode. Rod Serling (Mister "Twilight Zone" himself!) wrote the scrrenplay for the original 1968 version of "Planet of the Apes!" Ergo, the 'twist' ending.

    Brilliant!

  • Actually the movie is based on a French novel: La planète des singes (The Planet of the Apes).

  • yes that is true but it was "loosely" based on the novel, if you actually read it you will notice many differences such as the ending, the book had a twist but it was a very different one from the movie

  • Sorry. I should have said loosely. But you are right. (:

  • AWESOME!

  • i think this is a shortened version
