  • best yell EVER !!

  • "SIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIILENCE!!!!!!!!!!!!! *screech*"

  • that part is epic, best yelling ever

  • I would pay good money to learn how to make the noise Zero Mostel produces at 1:42!

  • I am about to say the sooth!

  • Buster Keaton, one of the all-time greats.

  • LOL parden me young woman.

  • oh what a lovely baby

  • Buster was a fine looking man when he was young.

  • Zero Mostel and Buster Keaton in the same scene ... classic!

  • Well said. I had never heard Buster speak until I saw this film. A true genius. And Zero Mostel was not too shabby either. Phil Silvers in this as well, they can't make them like that anymore.

  • Ah, the great Buster Keaton. This was his final film, he was deathly ill with cancer during the filming of Forum.. Yet he still performed his own stunts. What a guy!

  • If I could ever recreate the shriek Mostel makes at 1:41, then I could die a happy man

  • ur damn right:) me too

  • "I AM ABOUT TO SAY THE SOOTH!!!"

    LOL

I love the part where he speaks gibbeish (1:24) and all over Rome, people just look up ROFL!

  • best scene in the whole movie! :D

  • "a fine big boy, and a strange little boy"

    LMAO

  • "Parden me young woman." AHAHAHAHA lol :P

  • oops I spelled Pardon wrong lol :)

  • This film has the unique distinction of capturing some of the greatest actors of a previous generation (Buster Keaton), popular actors in their prime (Zero Mostel, Phil Silvers) and actors who went on to become great (Michael Crawford).

And also: one of the funniest things ever. Gusto the Body Snatcher is my favorite part.

  • You look at Crawford's character here as the comedic teen Hero, then look at the dark Phantom: You would not believe it's the same person!

  • Is that

"Where can we find someone dead?"

    "The body snatcher?"

"He owes me a favour! But he died yesterday"

  • "...what about his body?"

    "Somebody snatched it!"

  • haa. I love this movie (and the play). :D

  • "SIENCE! Eaaah!"

  • 1:57

  • Is that Buster Keaton?

  • Yep, in his last film. Pretty good way to go out, I'd say.

  • Best musical ever!

  • "You are in need of a soothsayer!"

    "How did you know?"

    "I'd be a fine soothsayer if I didn't"

  • A fine big boy....and a strange little boy

  • This movie is good in a different way. History of the World is more modern gags, but Funny Thing totally captures the hilarity of Roman Life during the Imperial Era and doesn't have too much glamor sine Rome was one of the dirtiest cities in the world and a cultural melting pot of cultures.

  • And a strange little boy! Funny as hell, i love zero mostel...rest of film not so hot

  • haha i love zero mostel!

  • i love that little shriek that zero makes at 1:41

  • LOL

    I love this...

    A strange little boy

  • This is such a great movie.

How many geese in a gaggle? 7 at least. 7!

  • and a strange little boy!

another good one like this is the scene from The History of the World where they're in Rome, i think

Oedipus: Give to Oedipus! Hey Josephus!

    Josephus: Hey, motherfucker!
