  • these are from the sonatas and partitas for solo violin

  • Heard Parkening in person once. Heard Segovia in person once. Both were simply amazing.

  • Love Bach, Love John Williams. would really like to see this live. I love to see the masters play their instruments.

  • It's sad that every single youtube video with music has kids bashing each others taste back and forth.

I really, really enjoy John Williams' playing and had the honor to watch him perform last year. It was incredible. I also watched Motley Crue and Poison a few months later. Had a blast.

  • @jesselllll

This is what Internet is in dire need: tolerance.

  • Sorry, maybe a dumb question, but is this the John Williams who wrote the James Bond theme?

  • @JCMcGee: no that's another John Williams. I thought it was the same person too.

  • ole, ole y olé, john, viva la guitarra y viva tu

  • most guitar players sound like shit but if i hear bream or williams i dont think so

  • @googlekopfkind ???? I must ask... do you play a musical instrument?

  • reading comments on youtube will just make you sad for humanity.

  • @zendouble hah eitheravoid them entirely or prepare for the worst

  • Beautiful. Why do people talk such shite to eachother in the comments? Shut up and listen bitches! You know who I'm talking to ;)

  • Dude, this guy fuckin rawks. But I'd like to see him play night train. Slash would own this bitch. GnR 4ever

  • @717rch who's slash!?... sounds like that icy brainfreezer drink for kids.

  • @CT2507 slash don't freeze brains. he melts them. hasta!

  • @717rch not much of a choice then is there?... either melt or freeze. its still kidsstuff. only a kid would go by such a name.

  • Imádom ahogyan John Williams gitározik, ahogyan játssza Bach lant darabjait. Ő ebben a legjobb, legalábbis számomra. Lenyűgöző...

  • HAHAHA people argue about anything!

  • yah

    reminds me of segovia

    old school

  • Is fine, not the best: wanna hear razor-bleeding-sharp perfection? Listen to young Segovia '27-39 recordings, on Manuel Ramirez/catgut strings... He is the real monster player nobody could come close to..

  • perfect an light like a bird..one of the best Bach's "Gavotte.." performances i ever heard.

@petersuki - just shut up and learn to listen

  • Wonderful played.

Dont like the comment of petersuki. No one knows how Bach and musicians of that time played. Even not the tempo or basic questions like this.

So please if you comment, only with enough foreknowledge.

I think hes one of the best, after Bream. (But thats my own taste)

  • @wolb4182 actually, we know ALOT about how they played. and we know ALOT about the tempo specifically, because they even described it with things like molto adagio, andante, allegra, presto etc

  • @goodha2

ALOT ISN'T A WORD YOU JACKASS.

  • @Samoriah pardon me, "much".

    my point remains.

  • @Samoriah Nope, it's a big furry creature :3.

  • @Sticky1254

Oh wow, thanks for reminding me I made such an immature comment. I'm embarrased :o

Oh well, at least you brought me back to this video. I love the gavotte so much.

  • @Samoriah fukkin faggit

  • @goodha2 did you say "allegra"? It's "allegro"

  • @natbrain fag

  • @717rch where did you come from? Just mind your own business okay. And this was 3 months ago...

  • @goodha2 Uh no... those markings didn't specify tempo at all. They specified the mood of the piece. Something marked "grave" isn't going to be played at 32 BPM or something. There are tons of things we don't know about Bach and many of the things we "do know" are educated assumptions.

  • @NimbleTurtle13 correct, and he misses the point at how just knowing how fast someone plays a piece doesn't give much info on how they play it. He says "we know ALOT about how they played", he says tempo after, but just saying "presto" doesn't give much info. How's the mood? Do they play staccato, or legato? How are the dynamics? What was the style? There are so many more things along with tempo, and you are correct about what you are saying about those markings.

  • Love it. thank you

  • This is my favorite and the most beautiful of the lute suites IMO.

  • lovely, pure....just don't know what to say...

  • Awesome.

    Thanks for posting, 5*****/Fav.

  • Astonishment

  • Wonderful. Simply extraordinary. Thanks for posting. Please we would like more of John Williams playing Bach.
