Accord has Twin Cam and more torque from start, Civic single cam and lower gearing, the Accord is also 100kgs or so heavier than the Civic even if the Lass was in the the Accord it would still outrun the civic. Flat out on a long run the Accord would leave the Civic for dead as it has a lower drag factor which helps is slice cleaner thru the air.

There is something in design of that Civic that makes this car so unique... He is so authentic... When you see that car in traffic, a 100 meters away coming to you, you know it can only be Honda and nothing else. One of the best, and most original car of all times.

I like the ball bottom shifter and the instrument panel in the Civic better than the US model. One big error in this drag race - there is a passenger in the Civic! Low-torque cars lose a lot of power when you add 100-200 lbs.

well, obviously the 2 door civic is going to be lighter than the 4 door accord.. even tho accord has a bit bigger engine, they both had passengers in their cars at one point which weighed down the car.. in a civic, 1 passenger can make all the difference.. acceleration would be a lot slower... but i've had 4 other people in my civic and i was still able to clock 165km/h..
