Nice breakdown. I could tell you were trying to think through each part of that lick to slow it down, but it actually worked out well. Could here it real-time, then slow down a chunk, then real-time plus the next chunk, then slow down, etc.etc. Helps get the rhythm embedded in the lesson. Thanks for the lesson!
I have just about got this down except for the struming part there is a few parts to it you left out and it would really help if you could go a little more in depth also there is some runs in there that are hard to follow that you didnt go over
Thanks for the comment and question. I'm still putting the dvd together. When it's finished I'll put up a short demo of it here on youtube. Have a great day!
Hello, thanks for the comment. You've peaked my curiosity. Have you played with Doyle before or have you just been studying his style. I would be interested to know the story. By the way, great videos on your channel. We have the same taste.
I've not played with him but I remember standing backstage at a festival one time when they were getting ready to go on stage. Jamie Dailey was in the group at that time and I heard him talking to a guy about the style of guitar that Doyle requires. He played the rhythm that he plays on just about every mid to fast tempo song they do. After that I went home and started listening to the CDs that I have of them and trying to play that rhythm myself. Now when I play guitar thats what I try to play.
I wish I coudl play the one you make! Just sharing thoughts: A totally underrated guitar is the Guild D-16M (gloss mahogany) of roughly 1985-88. Something like the Martin D-15 except an even brighter sound. Everyone should try an all mahogany guitar!
That's really useful. I love that lick, but it's a bit hard to follow beginning to end. If you could slow it down once through, or post a tab, that would be really helpful. Keep up the good work.
Nice. Not exactly Jimmy Martin rythum but good. I also use my thumb and finger picks to rythum and pick. Definetly not enuogh good rythum players in the world. Real nice.
