I love Marcy Playground! I noticed the guitar riff dont get me wrong sounds a little bit like come as you are by Nirvana another band i admire....anybody else kinda notice that?
@Psichotica7 yeah, seems like people kinda broke away a little bit after all that classed based pompous old fashioned crap... but it's really just curbing back in that direction, though this time the bitch is materialistic horseshit and labeling.
3 people cried wolf hoping for some sort of twilight transformation into a man-boy monster but instead just got raped by a great Dane, who by some corrupt science impregnated the victims regardless of gender which ended in C sections and ugly ass babies which the voters didn't have the cash to support so they ended up suffocating the dog children and consequently were arrested.. so as a result they decided to dislike this from prison.. I..dont think i did it right..
@fossilbox1991 omg that Nirvana 'Come As You Are' riff goes as far back as 'Eighties' by Killing Joke and 'Life Goes On' by The Damned.. it's so bizarre how often this riff has been done!!! check it out!!!
@losingmyreligion6767 Cool I had never heard of either of these bands up to now. I just checked them both out and they're both great. Amazing morning music! :D
@superstrumer yeah, bro! real grungey trippy shit. its the best. if you want good depression music, check out the frontman of screaming trees mark lanegan's solo work. its just as grungey, but with some super blues influences and really dark lyrics. i dig it, you will too.
The key, my friend, is to THINK 90's, PLAY 90's music! That's what I do...Funny thing; I'm a part time asst. manager @ Spencer's and my employees who are still in hs, love it when I play my 90s Alternative Rock compilaton CD when it is MY shift.
Although, I did get a complaint from a customer b/c Lady Gaga or Bieber wasn't "played"...My answer: "It's 90's Retro" Day. :o)
@WAIATA4U haha, but hey thats exactly what i do, all i listen to is 90s music, because i grew up listening to that, and todays music isnt even close to being as good as the 90's music!!
I love thsi band! I heard the sex and candy song and was like ok and then this song came out and i bought the album. It has become one of my absolute favorites. Every song is great and the ending is sique.

this song has been stuck in my head for all of today, so i made a deal with myself to learn it on guitar. so before i went to bed, i picked up my guitar and spent 4 and a half seconds learning it. sometimes the best riffs are the simplest ones.
@JMorr1029 HA HA , you have the timing right on I tried it on guitar,, 4 +one half secs did it!! and I wasn't a fan so I had never consciously heard this before..
@JMorr1029 HA HA , you have the timing right on I tried it on guitar,, 4 +one half secs did it!! and I wasn't a fan so I had never consciously heard this before..
@sparky30k That's the beautiful thing...when the melody is upbeat and the lyrics are depressing, or vice versa. Like Opium...very melancholy melody, seemingly happy lyrics, but obviously somewhat sarcastic ("I'm just gagging on all the alright")
@PhillyBlunt6988 trust me i know that song like the back of my hand. same notes, but its changed a little bit. all im saying is that they're highly influenced by nirvana. its not a bad thing.
I noticed there is one person who marked dislike. How? I mean you can't not like Marcy Playground. I mean it can be not your kind of muse, but you can't dislike it. Give me thumbs up if you agree.
its funny how many bands are influenced by music they dont play, but thats part of the musicsal collaberation. pantera grew up listening to black sabbath and some 80's buttrock, but do they sound anything like 80's buttrock, NO. but you might here some of the influence in their music.
