Cornette was the man, nobody had mike skills like the Louisville Lip, he lived and breathed Pro Wrestling. And the Midnight Express was always fun to watch
@dbsr111 I cheered for the MX and Cornette at a house show in Cincinnati in 1988-89. Stan and Bobby saw me about six rows back and laughed and pointed at me. Always loved Jim's work.
@RayNDeere That's an awesome memory. I love how Stan cracks up when Cornette drops that line about a driving across Ethiopia with a bucket of chicken.
Just scary on how much talent WCW HAD BACK IN THE DAY.They had World and US Tag champs and so many tag teams.Today they have to put singles wrestlers together to form the majority of the tag teams
@danteras23 I agree 200% with you, and Eaton had a great movelist, he could do anything. Leg drop from the top rope, suplexes, neckbreakers, stiff punches...He was awesome. And Lane was great too. What a team.
In every promo that Jim Cornette cuts, you can see that Lane and Eaton and even Bubba (RIP Ray Traylor) are struggling to keep a straight face while Cornette is going off. I bet they fell on the floor laughing when they went backstage.
There was nothing better than the interviews segments on World Championship Wrestling. Flair and the Four Horsemen, Cornette, Dusty Rhodes, the Road Warriors...great personalities
Stan Lane lost it there, they kept straight faces up to that line, which gave me an all out belly laugh. As they were leaving, Bobby Eaton started laughing too
Cornette is one of the best mouth pieces, "your an expert on everything that smells like a horse." and his Mother's butler Thurston to carry the money.
Wrestling needs managers, great tag teams, and women who can wrestle

Cornette rules at promos.

@popcur That it why I admire Conette not just as manager or booker, but as a promoter in the biggest sense of the word.
