Hi guys, I made a new channel where I upload time lapse videos every day. It will make me very happy if you can check them out and subscribe as time lapse videos are very hard to shoot and edit. Please like this comment to support me and my channel!!
Ugh so it just takes the pictures and you have to manually make the time lapse? Wished it just snapped picture every 5 secs then automatically joined them into a video file
It was one photo every 5 seconds and then merged in After Effects (allowing widescreen export). I cant recall the mode to the honest, but just the general timelapse setup. It was stuck onto an external window with power via USB, waterproofed via some duct tape :)
The quality of the video is so good and you chose such a good place to film, and where better than a Royal Mail warehouse is it? Hahaha. The red and yellow all look so cool
@jojoko1997 Hey u need to convert the GoPro film in a widescreen mode, that was what I did.. if u want to see the result of my GoPro Vid please visit my channel! If u got some more questions please send me a message, and I will respond! :)
@steezyjack3 Hey I use Quicktime player 7 pro, it's free if u got a Mac, but if u want to download it to PC u have to buy it on apple.com for 20$.... I got one GoPro Timelapse video on my channel where i'm using the Quicktime player 7 pro software, please check it out! ;) Good Luck!
That's the difference of GoPro night timelapse with a DSLR night time lapse. You won't see vehicle tail lights streak but in DSLR since you can set the shutter speed you can see the tail light streak which is a very nice effect in night timelapse.
@Z4cr0 To make a timelapse u need to set the GoPro to take one image per 2/4/6/8 or 10 sec. I would recomend u to use one image per 2 sec. U will need Quicktime player pro 7 to make the timelapse after taking all the images, wich costs 20$.. :P I got one GoPro Timelapse video on my channel where i'm using the Quicktime player 7 pro software, please check it out! ;) Good Luck!
I recorded some video at night on a road that is actually fairly lit but the footage came out very dark and unusable. Are there night settings I have to set it to? Anyone know a tutorial or anything that will help me out for night shots? I am using the hero hd model. Not sure if it is the "2" or not.
if i were to place a go pro and make a time-lapse video, how would you suggest me hold the camera??? should i tie it to a post or what else should i do? what did u do in this video???? also, without charging the go pro while making this video, how long would it last until it would go out of battery??? please answer these questions. thanks...
hi @smithee11!, What was your workflow in editing/color correction? Because the night shot look very good, i took some last week with the GoPro and they definitely don't look that good.
I am surprised how clear it is at the night. Is there anyway you can test how dark it can still maintain the quality and upload ? I would be glad to see that.
Excellent idea using the usb charger while filiming. You could then plug it in to ac or use a powerpack with batteries if you were in the field filming. I will do this. Thank you!
Its was captured using a 16Gb card, one image every 10 seconds. Powered via an iphone USB charger (i drilled a hole in the case and the sealed it with waterproof tape). The exposure was centre weighted i seem to recall, all aperture etc was auto - I'm impressed how well the camera copes with the light changes.
Did you have to change any settings as you went from day to night? How much control does the Go Pro allow in terms of aperture and shutter speed? I am planning on getting one. mainly to produce time lapses while driving.
I've been thinking of getting a camera and my choices seem to be down to the Drift HD170 and the GoPro HD Hero. One project I want to do with it is a time lapse of a flight from Eastern USA to Tokyo but it would be about 20 hours of time lapse. The thing I want to know is how long of a time lapse can be done at say one pic every 30 seconds before the battery dies. Do you happen to know?
that is really cool - i have one of these cameras, i would love to use this on a mountain bike video - is it difficult to do - i only know the basics really ?
I used the '5' setting so one shot every 5 seconds and then 25fps - simply loaded the shots into quicktime pro. It was powered by a ipod charger (i drilled a small hole on the case and then sealed it to plug into the Go Pro).. It runs for about 12 hours before the card is full.
Did you do this in the time-lapse PHOTO mode and edit every image into this movie or does the camera have a time-lapse VIDEO mode that you were able to shoot this in?
i was kinda fascinated by that thing in the middle left, during the day its not smoking(??) at all, though at night it starts smoking(??) and becomes yellowish.
Hello its so nice timelapse. I would ask about metering mode which kind mode did you use at night spot or center? I would like try timelapse at night near airport landing and takeoff aircrafts.

the funny thing is that they say we can charged it as we go but we are forced to make holes in the case to be able to do it without leaving the camera unprotected
What's the setting you use for your GoPro? I have a GoPro Hero2 and night quality are just really bad? Maybe Im not using the right setting?
