  • What's the setting you use for your GoPro? I have a GoPro Hero2 and night quality are just really bad? Maybe Im not using the right setting?

  • Auto setting on GoPro?

  • Is that a fire at the very back??

  • Check out my go pro timelapse :)

    youtube.com/watch?v=elR7WfZpSuQ

  • I love this timelapse! Its really well done! Ive done some timelapsing, but not this long and never night footage. I'm gonna trie one like this soon. Keep it up! Meanwhile check out my traveling timelapse through spain. Cheers!

  • How did you get the photos in widescreen..?

  • @0vesen using sony vegas simply go to properties and uncheck maintain aspect ratio. Hope it helped.

  • is it possible to make it the same length (record 12 hours) but make it instead of 5 mins just make it 5 seconds or so?

  • Ugh so it just takes the pictures and you have to manually make the time lapse? Wished it just snapped picture every 5 secs then automatically joined them into a video file

  • thats a really nnice time-laps... but i would like to see it in 1minute or so..

  • Absolutly amazing!!!! What did you do to entertain yourself whilst this was going on?

  • It was one photo every 5 seconds and then merged in After Effects (allowing widescreen export). I cant recall the mode to the honest, but just the general timelapse setup. It was stuck onto an external window with power via USB, waterproofed via some duct tape :)

  • did you take multiple pictures to do this, or did you take a long video?

  • nice video :D

but which mode did you use for this video?

  • Comment removed

  • wich program do you use?

  • The quality of the video is so good and you chose such a good place to film, and where better than a Royal Mail warehouse is it? Hahaha. The red and yellow all look so cool

  • i need to do this in the night sky to find those things up there lol

  • @420choky they're called stars

  • @Kizzwizzz not the stars those things that zip around taking pics of earth lol

  • @420choky satellites then?

  • @Kizzwizzz well lately ive been seeing things fly in the sky .. not planes..

  • Hey great video, I was wondering how you exported it. Cause im having a hard time exporting mine properly.

  • The skeleton housing does NOT allow any USB, HDMI or mic connections.

  • The night is amazing!! Have you spotted the airplanes? :)

    Really nice vid :)

    Happy new year from Hungary!

  • hey can you make a tutorial on how you did that because i only get square pictures not wide screen :( Please help me out !

  • @jojoko1997 Hey u need to convert the GoPro film in a widescreen mode, that was what I did.. if u want to see the result of my GoPro Vid please visit my channel! If u got some more questions please send me a message, and I will respond! :)

  • what editing sytem for timelapse and how much $ ... ?

  • @steezyjack3 Hey I use Quicktime player 7 pro, it's free if u got a Mac, but if u want to download it to PC u have to buy it on apple.com for 20$.... I got one GoPro Timelapse video on my channel where i'm using the Quicktime player 7 pro software, please check it out! ;) Good Luck!

  • That's the difference of GoPro night timelapse with a DSLR night time lapse. You won't see vehicle tail lights streak but in DSLR since you can set the shutter speed you can see the tail light streak which is a very nice effect in night timelapse.

This is still a great timelapse video.

  • Make a tutorial Please .. I dont understand...

  • Great work man!

  • Nice video!

How did you get so good quality on 5 mp photos?

  • Instead of drilling a hole in your housing to keep it charged you can just get the skeleton housing..

  • I recorded some video at night on a road that is actually fairly lit but the footage came out very dark and unusable. Are there night settings I have to set it to? Anyone know a tutorial or anything that will help me out for night shots? I am using the hero hd model. Not sure if it is the "2" or not.

  • how did the battery last so much?¿

  • @suso994 the camera was plugged in the charger :)

  • is that parcelfarce office?

  • How did you make it fill the entire screen?

  • check out my gopro time lapse on my page! it's pretty sweet

  • what software did u use ?

  • awesome mate was that easily done

  • cool vid

  • How do you get high quality and full screen on the timelapse pictures? Please answer.

  • if i were to place a go pro and make a time-lapse video, how would you suggest me hold the camera??? should i tie it to a post or what else should i do? what did u do in this video???? also, without charging the go pro while making this video, how long would it last until it would go out of battery??? please answer these questions. thanks...

  • you can see a comet in the sky (right to the sun) in the minute 0:39 - 0:44

  • @zombieman658 airplane, it looks like it's going down like a comet, but the wide angle/fisheye is doing that, so it is an airplane

  • It needs a manual white balance mode, that flickering around 2:40 is pretty annoying

  • hi @smithee11!, What was your workflow in editing/color correction? Because the night shot look very good, i took some last week with the GoPro and they definitely don't look that good.

  • I drilled a hole in the plastic case for a usb cable to power it, then wrapped in water proof tape... hope that helps...

  • @smithee11

why would you drill a hole on your waterproof case when Gopro HAS the case fully open? UBS, HDMI, MIC, all open! its called GoPro HD Skeleton Housing

    • Mfr #AHDSH-001

  • how do you powered the GoPro all this time?? explicame por favor!!!

  • Mount Pleasant Sorting Office near Angel! I work just round the corner from there :) Great video! Awesome music.

    I soooo wanna GoPro myself.

  • Any one know the battery time on this thing?

  • @HaleTruman 2.5 hours usually, or until the SD card is full. But you can record while charging, as this guy did.

  • @SnowdragonDS Thanks very helpful =]

  • @HaleTruman No Problem =)

  • I am surprised how clear it is at the night. Is there anyway you can test how dark it can still maintain the quality and upload ? I would be glad to see that.

  • Is it one photo every 5 seconds or 10 seconds?

  • real great video! good work

  • will the gopro work with star timelapses?

  • 5:08 awesome clouds

  • How come in video Its say every 5 seconds but in comments you say 10 seconds?

  • I love all of the planes taking off!

  • How were you able to import the time lapse to your editing program

  • Great stuff. Going possibly to get one of these cameras. And after seing timelapse is also possible Im more eager.

  • what program did you use for assemble the video?

  • @p33092c you can use virtualdub

  • very impressive, nice job!

  • Excellent idea using the usb charger while filiming. You could then plug it in to ac or use a powerpack with batteries if you were in the field filming. I will do this. Thank you!

  • Well how do you shoot pictures that wide? mine are more like not wide..

  • @NisserMand me too. my pictures are 3 4 it looks like

  • wow, this looks so cool:P

how the sun is leaving and then how the plains are flying!

    awsome vid!

  • I liked it very much! Thanks man!

  • at what frames per second did u play it?

plz send me a private message

  • so if i do this with my 8gb i can do 12 ours, one image every 20 seconds

  • Its was captured using a 16Gb card, one image every 10 seconds. Powered via an iphone USB charger (i drilled a hole in the case and the sealed it with waterproof tape). The exposure was centre weighted i seem to recall, all aperture etc was auto - I'm impressed how well the camera copes with the light changes.

  • @smithee11 what resolution setting did you use on your gopro, r3?

  • Thats really cool ! !

  • Where is this? Nice vid.

  • Great Job ! what size memory card did you use ??

  • Nice!

  • Did you have to change any settings as you went from day to night? How much control does the Go Pro allow in terms of aperture and shutter speed? I am planning on getting one. mainly to produce time lapses while driving.

  • I've been thinking of getting a camera and my choices seem to be down to the Drift HD170 and the GoPro HD Hero. One project I want to do with it is a time lapse of a flight from Eastern USA to Tokyo but it would be about 20 hours of time lapse. The thing I want to know is how long of a time lapse can be done at say one pic every 30 seconds before the battery dies. Do you happen to know?

  • how big was you file size after all thos frames

  • Nice Work, those quys in the truck company work soooo sloooow :-)

  • Did you have the cameras exposure meter on spot metering?

  • that is really cool - i have one of these cameras, i would love to use this on a mountain bike video - is it difficult to do - i only know the basics really ?

  • @daulsuspension yes there is a port in the camera for charging, although it isn't an iPod port.

  • i dont really get it. so how did u power the camera ? by an ipod charger? theres no port like that on the camera. pls help , i really need it

  • im an idiot..... i just had it recording for 2 hours during a storm. its now taking about 4 hours to render in final cut pro

  • @s1052102 fail

  • @s1052102 i feel ur pain i was rendering for 14 hrs in sony vegas cuz my computer is an acer

  • cool video

  • I used the '5' setting so one shot every 5 seconds and then 25fps - simply loaded the shots into quicktime pro. It was powered by a ipod charger (i drilled a small hole on the case and then sealed it to plug into the Go Pro).. It runs for about 12 hours before the card is full.

  • @smithee11 So within the editing timeline.... how many frames per second- did one image [off the timelapse images] held? dyou know what i mean?

  • beautiful song!the title?

  • very cool. well done. just got my hd hero today

  • Did you do this in the time-lapse PHOTO mode and edit every image into this movie or does the camera have a time-lapse VIDEO mode that you were able to shoot this in?

  • Awsome,,, well done!

  • Awesome video. Nice XD. I checked your blog but i could not find. Which setup did you use? 2, 5, 10? Thanks mate :D

  • i was kinda fascinated by that thing in the middle left, during the day its not smoking(??) at all, though at night it starts smoking(??) and becomes yellowish.

looks like a controlled fire to me.

    can anyone help me out???

  • Hello its so nice timelapse. I would ask about metering mode which kind mode did you use at night spot or center? I would like try timelapse at night near airport landing and takeoff aircrafts.

    Thanks

  • Going by this video there is no limit to how many photos can be taken in the timelapse function! Is this correct?

  • Hi, I take it you cropped the photos to get them widescreen? What software did you use?

  • instructions say that a firmware upgrade is required to charge & record at the same time, but no patch exists on their website. how recent was your gopro purchase? maybe your serial # batch came w/ the new software...

  • We drilled a hole in the waterproof case and the attached a USB cable via a iphone charger - I'll do a post on digital urban with full details...

  • @smithee11 im confused... via iphone charger ? In the wall ?

  • the funny thing is that they say we can charged it as we go but we are forced to make holes in the case to be able to do it without leaving the camera unprotected

  • @smithee11 may i ask, for how long did u set the Project's timeline\settings for?

    15fps? more? less?

it wasnt the normal 25fps or 30fps, right?

  • @smithee11 what is your memory cars size please ?!

  • Great video. The quality of the GoPro HD is simply beautiful. How did you keep it powered up for the entire time?
