American Idol acknowledges that the contestants need to dress better and work on their hair and make-up. Being an idol is all about appearance. Where have you been? Do some research. If this were a singing contest the contestants would be opera singers from music schools. The first thing a talent agent or music producer looks for is sex appeal because that's what sells.
