  • Ohh.. I cant hande so much cuteness!! He has his own style.. awww! *-*

  • At three years old, this is amazing! It seems to me that 15billman is feeling a little threatened by your progress. (:

  • Jonathan is brilliant. His parents must be so proud

  • Джонатан вы очень хороший мальчик Я также дирижер я провел Ирвинг симфонии много раз вы большой protogy для вашего возраста один remarck (вы должны работать на вашем retum немного OK) вот фотографии меня

  • He's probably looking at his shadow because it looks epic :]

  • he has either been to wayyyy too many concerts or has a conductor for a parent. haha.

  • People, say hello to new Mozart...

  • omg

  • unquestionably this child enjoys what he does. Thank you to the parents to put his hands all the necessities for such a talent grows in him.

  • I love that he has his own podium. This is absolutely wonderful - thank you for sharing! :)

  • the expresions on his face say alot !!!!

  • He is toooo cute!

  • He is toooo cute!

  • he notices his shadow cast on the wall @ 0.46 and proceeds to conduct and watch his shadow as he continues swaying and conducting!!!! he is such an overload of cuteness and I can't help but smile watching him :)) he is so blessed with such sensitivity and intuition to music!

  • He is absolutely FANTASTIC!!! And his parents are amazing!

  • Cute Yid kid.

  • little clowns...

  • omg cabt get enough from this kid he is soo good and soooo cute

  • this boy's arms are moving in appropriate ways for a conductor. He is anticipating the music/instruments. AMAZING.

  • Get him a real baton for his next birthday -- and a box of kleenex..

Wonderful how he anticipates the next section.

  • Next Mozart in conductor form.

  • The kid is amazing! I watched all of Jonathan's videos and realized that he FEELS every note and expression the way the composer wrote them. Being a composer myself, I would trust my music on Jonathan in a few years. The TALENT is there, all he needs now is some 15 years of serious education, score reading, piano lessons and soon he'll be the next Lenny Bernstein - the "Lenny Dance" is already there... Plus: this is the best physical exercise, so his health is also taken care of... Congrats!

  • he is absolutely beautiful.

  • good gracious!!!! the more I watch his videos the more amazed I become!!! Incredible!!! Good Luck kid, you'll be on a huge stage someday with a full orchestra ready to play in front of you!!!

  • he is going to grow up to be amazing. =)

  • What is the point of conducting anyway? Dont musicsions have notes right in front of them? I dont see why a guy waving stick matters to the orchestra or whatever. Dont get me wrong im not hating on the kid im just wondering about it.,

  • @SHAKETHATTHINGBABY Well I see that you are not a musician!

How can you expect all the musicians in an orchestra to start in the mean time if no one shows them? How can they finish in the mean time?

And do you think that they just read the notes with the same rythm all the time??? This would be very monotonous.

There are plenty more other reasons for having a conductor, I am not going to talk about them but I hope that this makes you realize that a conductor is really always needed.

  • WOW! I am stunned this is amazing!

  • Here in venezuela theres a proyect call Play and fight! That program turns joungs kids in excelents musicians and conductors, you should take a look the GUSTAVO DUDAMEL´S work he starts at 4 years old like an incredible violin player.

  • he seems to have chronic nose itch

  • The boy is totally drown in that piece of Paganini, he must be a conductor in his previous life---------

  • 0:18 najlepszy fragment

  • HE IS BLESSED!!He has a bright future! I am very sure of it!

  • Music being spoken through this kid is just... amazing. I could literally cry right now.

  • How does somebody put words on the pure happiness this sweet sweet boy is spreading? I know nothing about conducting, I only react to the feeling music creats in me - and Jonathan is opening my eyes and heart :))) Jonathan, I wish you and your family sooo much happiness and joy!!!

  • i do love to see a child having such a joyful time in life.i like him watching himself "shadow conduct"

  • i do love to see a child having such a joyful time in life.

  • Jonathan, you are fantastic.

Please tell me when you direct your first concert, I want to be there !

    Take care, embrace the music,

    Olivier

  • @swbrand. Maestro Heinz James. Yes I did and I can repeat the same words - extremely talented boy. Glad to get in touch with you Mro. Hienz. Joseph

  • @ClassiqueFoundation My Good Joseph, Thank you for the kindness in reply! I value your opinion in highest regard, and too, glad of our words together. May I wish you well, James

  • This is just so much fun to watch. Jonathan is wonderful.

  • There's no doubt that this child has the musical gene. It's hardwired into a select few, and those with the gift hear music like none of us mere listeners/students/and educated musicians can imagine. He just gobsmacked me with his native understanding.

  • FANTASTICO !! FENOMENALE......

  • I think this is a reason to believe in reïncarnation.

He shows to much knowledge fot his age, even

if he comes from a musical family.

I hope life will give him the luck to be a real conductor. rgrmusic

  • @jfluter thank you for your comment! I thought also it might be "slow moments", but see ensenuk's comment below. That's why I wondered.. .

  • Why did he say Shlomo Mintz? Is that because Mintz is playing on that orchestra??

  • @Trotzdemjazumleben I think he's saying "slow moments."

  • he is extremly talented yes, but i like what seems to be the first video best, where he conducts the 4th movement of Beethovens 5th. He seems much more natural, and he isn't looking at the TV like he seems to be doing here. This one is too set up. I just hope that his parents don't get too obsessed with him becoming famous or so before he's 5..

but I must say, he could really be the next Bernstein.

  • I love this little boy! :)))

  • Thank you very much for your answer on the Beethoven extract. Jonathan is so aware of each intention that he realy causes the music ! Many musician would be directed by him, sure ! Give me one more favour please : What does he say in this one video ? . I didn't see the show on the tv you talked. Was it good ? My thanks to The genius. Best regards - Nicolas

  • @nicomovie2010 bass

"Drums, flute, bassoons, Shlomo Mintz, violins, Their making noise".

  • @esenuk At 1:51, it sounds like he's saying "skull moments." LOL! Kudos to the parents who are supporting his love and natural talent in music. I can't wait to see what this kid will become in the next 20 years or so. I absolutely LOVE this clip and miss playing in an orchestra!

  • @esenuk are you sure that instead of saying "Shlomo Mintz" he's actually saying "slow moments" or even "slow movements"... if so that is incredibly perceptive of the lad. May I ask where you're from?

  • @jdp2606 search on youtube for "Shlomo Mintz Paganini Violin Concerto Part1" (conducted by Yoel Levy). I believe that is the performance Jonathan is watching. I think he is correctly recognizing when Shlomo Mintz comes into camera view.

  • @jackieogee I appreciate that you referred us to the Shlomo Mintz performance. It does appear that Jonathan is watching that...but also that Jonathan's conducting doesn't just copy the conductor. He has a lot of his own energy and interpretation...which I find very imprressive in such a small child. I'd be impressed that a child could even copy, but Jonathan knows the instrumenyts and adds his own interpretation is phenomenol. Love this little child and his parents.

  • @weesook1 Me too. I wouldn't have searched for that Shlomo Mintz performance if I weren't the fan that I am. The reason I mentioned the performance is because people were wondering if Jonathan actually said "Shlomo Mintz". I think the clip supports that he does. I've also searched on-line and have learned that Jonathan will be conducting - for real - the Chandler Symphony orchestra on March 27, 2011. The event info can be found on the Jonathan Okseniuk Facebook page. Can't wait!

  • @jdp2606 Jonathan was born in Arizona.

  • toooooo cute <3

  • Unbelievable. How greatly expanded his mind must be, to feel the music and get transported by it. A one-in-a-million child.

  • @mikroba "how greatly expanded his mind must be" A good way to say it Mikroba.

  • His love of the music is tangible and beautiful. How expressive!

  • And the darling event is when his sister shows up below the screen with her own little tot-violin . This Jonathan is a future AGT candidate.

  • I love how he is calling out the different instruments beats before they come in! It is quite fantastic to behold!

  • This little guy is amazing and darling. And very talented! I imagine Mozart was like him. My choral director's mom told me that when he was a little guy, he crawled to the piano, pulled himself up, reached over his head and started sounding out music he heard from the radio. He still has a passion for music and it makes singing in his choir even more fun because of it. Your little guy will some day be a famous conductor of a world renown orchestra. Glad you are videoing him. Keep 'em coming!

  • I think the local schools should invite him over as a guest conductor for their concerts. What a crowd pleaser he would be! PLUS they could charge admission and still have SRO!

  • I hope his parents teach him to conduct in different times. He plays violin as well, so i presume he has at least some understanding of time signatures. If he is given a basis in conducting and he combines it with his obvious joy in the music he is going to be amazing. (not that he isnt already). I am so excited to hear the music this boy is going to compose.

  • This is fabulous! He is brilliant! Classical music creates brain growth like you wouldn't believe! What he needs is a full length mirror to add to his fun.

  • He is playing with his shadow :D

  • @erango Isn't that great! Took me a bit to see what he was looking at...lol.

  • All I can say is AMAZING!!!!

I watched all of Jonathan's videos and he is amazing!!!!!

    Keep up the good work!

  • What a cutie!!! He does by instinct things that I struggled with for months in conducting class. I have sung with professional conductors that are not as clear (or enthusiastic). If I'm still in the biz 20 or 30 years from now perhaps I'll have the pleasure of performing with Jonathan.

  • Please, enjoy the now with Jonathan. The future will sort itself out. His wonderful prresen is priceless. Thank you so much for sharing this joyous child.

  • Its like he sees an orchestra sitting all around him.

  • Whew! Jonathan has music in his blood! He SEES the music! He, already, is a wonderful conductor. Lord knows where his gifts are going to take him! Thank you so very much!

  • CHIAKI SHINICHI OF NODAME CANTABILE- JAPANESE DRAMA/ANIME

  • im not even kidding, it would be such an honor to be conducted by him

  • Having been conducted by some true genius maestros, I would be simply delighted and inspired to be conducted by Jonathan!

  • I love the way he watches his shadow.

  • @chocolatesarebetter

    LOOL...me too

  • @chocolatesarebetter

that was the 1st thing I noticed too - First I thought he was just a trained Wunderkind but he so obviously enjoying himself and has such a genuine smile and laughter in his eyes.... he IS a real natural. :)

  • @chocolatesarebetter Was going to post the same thing. =]

  • @chocolatesarebetter noooo hes just keeping the second violins under control!

  • @chocolatesarebetter I think he's pretending to cue-ing that side of the orchestra....way cute. :)

  • He shows such an emotional connection to and such a deep understanding of the music... it's unbelievable, not even for just his age.

  • i LOVE this kid!

  • I'm pretty sure I want him to teach me his brilliance. No lie.

  • This kid is AWESOME!

  • Really fun to watch! Maybe he'd like this system of music education for kids based on Solfedge. It makes sense; is sort of a reverse-engineered jazz theory that's based on intervals. This guy has got a channel and series here as "ubernatch" and is located in San Francisco, CA so you can see how he teaches. Although Natch uses a short-hand for notation (like "Nashville",) he also ties it to traditional notation.

  • it's so lovely lookin at this child enjoying this wonderful music. i hope that soon he will become a great musician and hope he will play and conduct with the same joy always. congratulations to his parents for their talented child! all best wishes from a cellist from italy!!!

  • Don't go crazy here...the seed is already planted. He's obviously 100% committed to classical music, so just nurture his interest, and don't force anything anymore. We will buy his albums in 20 yrs, after he grad Julliard at 16, and becomes director of some high-profile orchestra such as the NY Phil. Your son is destined for greatness, but please make sure that he has a normal, healthy life between now and then. Let him socialize, let him work a min-wage job in HS, he will be better for it.

  • As an orchestral violinist, I can say that I would be thrilled to work with Jonathan one day!!!! He is amazing!!! Keep supporting him and he will be a great conductor one day no doubt!!!

  • What a thrill to witness a prodigy. He's amazing. Agreed, anyone who feels that any one or even a child is capable of this is wrong. He feels the music on such an amazing advanced level.

  • He is great musician ;))

  • This kid is brilliant. Can I adopt him?

  • 2 people don't know what is CLASSICAL MUSIC !

  • God bless you man

  • amazing!

  • brilliant!

  • I'd like to see Lil Wayne TRY and write something like this. Welcome to how music is really written people. This type of music is TALENT.

  • @golgod7n .. i know you appreciate music like this .. check out my composition

    Tränen eines Kunstwerkes

.. let me know what you think about it :)

  • Your sister showed me one of Jon's clips and I was blown away. Looking forward to seeing how this prodigy will develop. His violin playing is amazing too...

  • My God!!!!!!!!!!! This little kid is not only talented, but EXTREMELY talented. As a conductor myself, I think he is marvalleous. Look at his up-beats and feel !!!!! I am sure that he will be a very good conductor in the future. I teach music and I find lot of 12-20 year olds who cannot feel any tempo or even march with it. May I congratulate his parents. Well done Jonathan. You are great. I will defenitely show thiese clips of yours to my son who is 2 1/2 years old.

  • @ClassiqueFoundation Maestro, Thanks for this wonderful comment. Many of our fellow conductors agree. Yours, Maestro James

  • echo's of a past life...

  • @qualaup Do you really think so? That's what I'm seeing. It looks so ingrained and too natural! It's like having something close to proof.

  • @twinmusic: definitely

  • this is what music is all about. this young man has such a amazing future. having this kind of passion makes music stand out among other arts. i would like to see more people with this kind of love and passion for music.

  • this is simply amazing

  • as a music student in conducting class right now, I wish I had his ability to move so freely and expressively without fear of looking foolish. What he is showing is the raw emotion the music gives him.

  • My favorite is when he looks at the wall at his shadow conducting. I can't wait to see what this amazing kid will do! Go Suzuki Method!

  • He was stating the instruments as they came in... bassoons, violins... I am in love! He's going to be incredible, even more so than he is now!

  • I love the way he's slightly ahead of the beat - he really knows that music!

  • it is wonderful to see a child in the full spirit of who he is. Beautiful!

  • that. is. hilarious. and you can see he is having SUCH a great time being a genius!

  • It's hard to see a child his age feeling all the frases and intensity in the music he listens too... This child can cry while directing a real orquestra! I'm amazed...

  • This absolutely gives me chills. Incredible!

  • Fabulously musical gestures!

  • This little boy is a joy and a treasure - he's gifted, cute and more important - the product of a home that, apparently, nurtures his ability while allowing it to remain fun for him! Bravo Mom and Dad and Bravissimo Jonathan

  • This little KIDS got skills!!!! amazing to see his passion and emotion go into his music!!! its was really koool to see when he started looking at his own shadow to see his own movements!!! then i started lookin at his shadow it looks pro!!!! keep it up little dude!!!!

  • His muscular strength, control, and stamina are amazing.

  • HAHAHA!! He calls the percussion "drums!" Perfect!! So adorable. And he's staring at his shadow. Perfect. (Now you KNOW he's going to be a conductor. Conductors LOVE to stare at themselves in the mirror. It's an ego thing.)

  • so incredibly cute!! he is watching his shadow haha!!

And is he asking the flute and bassoon to play better in 1:42?

  • put him in front of a mirror! he'll love the visual feedback, just like he's getting from the shadow. Beginning conductors are often taught to conduct in front of a mirror...

  • FENOMENAL ... BRAVOOO .... INCRIVEL....

  • What a beautiful gift he has. And... He must have WAY buff arms by now. :)

  • love when he watches his shadow. not to dismiss his remarkable understanding & sensitivity at all - this is first & foremost a kid using everything he's got having FUN. i am happy for the whole family & hope they negotiate their future in a way that preserves the joy at the heart of his talent.

  • @rukeyser I don't think he's meaning to look at his shadow. He looks like he's pretending to be looking at the "musicians" from that half of his pretend orchestra. Either way, he's totally adorable, and I'm SO glad that he's enjoying high quality music at such a young age.

  • This is INCREDIBLE.

The joy and play involved while still understanding the complexities of music is fascinating. I am not sure how many three year olds can identify and cue a bassoon! Awesome.

  • So, this kid is better than my current conductor... while that doesn't take much, lets be honest, this kid is gonna have a future.

  • wow detecting the instruments... gifted!

  • @pigsqueek yeahh i could not believe it¿¿ haha great

  • BRAVOOOOO!!! BRAVISSIIIIMOOOOO!!!!

  • @blimeyyoureabitthick The name suits u perfectly. Bitter, thick musician? I've been a successful NYC conductor, pianist & instructor for over 20 years. This is the way IT starts. This kid's a wiz & better than 'professional' conductors I was forced 2 deal with when I was younger. Even if he's mimicking: He isn't just doing that. He hears it & feels it. It's quite extraordinary. He has a gift of which any well balanced parent should be proud & watch grow, IF his interest continues. Bravissimo!

  • again.. .wow. My 5 year old loves musicals. He spends his time dancing and singing. He gets upset if a regular movie is put in and its not a musical. When little kids love something passionately, all you can do is support them and then hang on for dear life for the ride they are going to take you on.

  • Bravissimo young Maestro Jonathan

  • I think this video just added about fifty more years to my music career!

  • What a blessing to have such a gift. Love his facial expressions. He will definitely not be a boring conductor...reminds me of the russian violinist and conductor Vladimir Spivakov. Not only is he a great violinst and conductor but he is incredibly entertaining, I applaud the parents to encourage this child to use his gift of music and allow the world to enjoy him.

  • the best musician ever! really! and at 3! just awesmoe!

  • "Flutes......bassoons.......slow moment, violins....", the eager looks to the right and left awaiting an entrance.....this child clearly loves the music and wants to be a part of it. Anyone who can't see his joy knows little about children. On another note, this sure beats mindless hours spent in front of the computer or tube gaming.

  • @InterlochenFan I found this VERY impressive for a kid this young to do what he's doing. Being a classically trained musician myself, I would LOVE to see this kid in the future.

  • He even gives the orchestra dynamics! Aww, how cute! He is most capable of even conducting a choir! Way to go!!!

  • phantom regiment's 2011 conductor?! yes!!!

  • Comment removed

  • wow. This is incredible! Don't let this go, such talent is priceless. He could really become a phenomenal musician one day!

  • give him a pen and paper. with some practice he might have a knack for some epic compositions. the classical world needs more leaders, too many instrumentalists (necessary sheep, but sheep nonetheless)

  • Baa

  • @blimeyyoureabitthick what are you serious????????? "waving his arms?" what don't you understand. He is anticipating, and in time, it is downright scary. Maybe you don't understand children. This is genius. Look again.

  • @blimeyyoureabitthick Baa indeed. Just like a sheep aka (with affection) 'instrumentalists'. It sounded like you were a thick and bitter musician. Probably u r a conductor 'wannabe'. if you can't communicate in more than farm animal sounds it is completely understandable as to why you became bitter and poisoned. Communicating to an orchestra takes more than skill, words and talent. It takes heart. A whole helluva lot of it.

  • and he is actually doing the right tempo most of the times! haha love this kid. You can't push or learn this. This has to be given with born.

I used to do this also when I was home alone (didn't want anyone to see ofcourse!)

  • I am learning some moves and signal while watching it right now... sincerely, a music graduate student... we should all learn from him... how he lives and enjoys music, like a game... there's nothing like doing what you love the most all the time, and even get paid for it!!! Support him, whatever he chooses to do... don't push him... he's already on his way. Great job parents!

  • He is talented and darling. I love when he seems to be watching his own shadow :0)

  • I don't understand people who think this isn't great. A healthy appreciation for music being performed by professionals is what will feed his understanding of music. Prodigies are often incapable of competing in the professional adult world because when they learned how to play there was very little understanding of the emotion put into writing the music. Expanding his repertoire and his joy in it will only make him a better player and performer.

  • @caravaggio03 I completely agree.

  • Dare I say Mozart?

  • @blimeyyoureabitthick What causes you to be so negative in this forum? There is a great deal to enjoy and admire in this little boy's musicality, knowledge of the music, diverse and appropriate gestures. He has what it takes to go far.

  • @sophelet I agree with you, this boy does have what it takes to go very far!

  • @blimeyyoureabitthick How on earth do you know if his parents are pushy? I personally know a 20 yr. old musician, that is currently one of the best in his field, has won major world competitions and as you would say "had pushy parents." My friend absolutely loves what he does. This little guy does not look like he has pushy parents, all I see are parents that encourage his love of music.

  • I am his fan number one ! and he is so cute !

Would like to keep in touch, I am a professional musician, and if in the future I organize or take part in any project for children, Jonathan could be such an inspiration for children ! he can be the guest children artist ! No kidding!!

  • He has everything a great conductor needs. Bravo.

  • No brainer--he will conduct this someday with a mighty orchestra.

  • Of course and DUH! Nonetheless, it seems something far more profound than you are willing or capable of perceiving today. Bless you both.
