This one is a lovely card, i have xfx hd 4670 1 gb ddr 3, on pretty old amd x2 4000+ m2n mx se mobo a cheap chinese cabinet and power supply with 500 watts and just a GB of  ddr2. and games that came out till 2008 (Dead space, COD 4, Left 4 Dead, Bully scholarship edition, Race Driver Grid, Burnout Paradise ect..) runs and looks so amazing. i play them on maxed setting on my 18.5'' monitor on 1280 by 720, i belive it can run most of the new games too

Hmmm, not a bad rig buddy, but two things I could recommend. First, upgrade your ram. New games are fiends for ram, and especially since you're running vista, I'd HIGHLY reccomend upgrading your ram to at least 4gb as you will notice a HUGE difference. Second thing, why are you running a 32 bit os on a a 64 bit processor? Upgrade your OS, I realise that most of the benefits with 64 bit lie in memory access, but still.there's no reason not to uprade especially considering it's comes with vista.

In the theory the HD3850 is better, but in the practice (games) the almost have the same perfomance (since in some games (the new ones) the HD4670 is better) so if I were you I take the HD4670, because the drives are more new and you will get a great perfomance in the most games. I think it depends a lot from your PSU i wouldnt go risk it if it doesnt have 6 pin connector if your gonna get 3850, 4670 is pretty good since it doesnt require much power from your psu you need around 300w psu for 4670
