@DaBigChalk1991 O Driscoll didn't lose the Leinster captaincy, he stepped down from the position in order to focus on his own game and position as Ireland captain. I'd agree with the dip in form statement though.

@DannyB2275 Neither Nonu nor Smith are as rounded individually as O Driscoll when it comes to centre play. Nonu is guilty of headbutting and shoulder charging when things aren't going his way. Not what you wanna see in rugby!

i remember vaguely watchin ireland play rugby when i was younger bu it was this game that had me captivated from begining to end, a passion which is yet to cease...hopefully we can compete with the aussies again in this world cup, bu theyre lookin more impressive than they ever have so i wont be upset if they beat us well...its all bou doin your best and makin us proud...they always do.....

Typicially Irish..... Pessamistic about everything- If you ask me I thisk we have a great chance of winning a 6 nations and doing well in the world cup next year. Yes the games aghainst SA and Samoa in the Autumn were very poor but I think if we can keep our crucial players like O'Connell and O'Driscoll fit, improve our scrum and play a Stringer / Sexton partnership were a match for any team in the world. The games aghainst Argentina and NZ proved that- You dont become a bad team overnight

what a joke, why would you go for a drop goal in the 67th minute when you have the aussies under pressure in their own half and after the drop goal you still need to score again to get the lead?? A converted try would have given them the lead. The reason being Ireland had no faith in scoring a try so they took the easy way out and BOD made the wrong decision

@giavirtae an uncoverted try would have given them the lead, still I don't think it was a bad decision with 13 minutes to go they were down by one after the succesful kick, another drop or penatly could have given them the lead. The amount of times I see teams go for the five( or seven) and fail when the easy three are on offer in a tight game is astounding.

But BOD is a good centre, but would he have what it takes to make a mark in Southern Hemisphere Rugby, even when he was younger. I can say this much .. least BOD is better then Sterling Mortlock, who kinda faded into nothing.

If I remember in 2008, Ireland gave us a damn good game. The weather in the end got too them, I should know, It was in Wellington and I was at the game, and I froze my behind off.

If Ireland can play the full 80, they shouldnt do too bad. But some quick early tries could break them.
