there was no way they should have scored !... pause at 0:11 and theres like4 on 2 in defence. should necer have even attacked that side. but hey it worked
@DaBigChalk1991 O Driscoll didn't lose the Leinster captaincy, he stepped down from the position in order to focus on his own game and position as Ireland captain. I'd agree with the dip in form statement though.
@DannyB2275 Neither Nonu nor Smith are as rounded individually as O Driscoll when it comes to centre play. Nonu is guilty of headbutting and shoulder charging when things aren't going his way. Not what you wanna see in rugby!
@DaBigChalk1991 Drico with bleach, made him Samson-esque bud. Lost his form after the Lions tour in '05. He got his form back only last year. Losing the capitancy to Leo Cullen in the Leinster squad woke him up.
i remember vaguely watchin ireland play rugby when i was younger bu it was this game that had me captivated from begining to end, a passion which is yet to cease...hopefully we can compete with the aussies again in this world cup, bu theyre lookin more impressive than they ever have so i wont be upset if they beat us well...its all bou doin your best and makin us proud...they always do.....
Typicially Irish..... Pessamistic about everything- If you ask me I thisk we have a great chance of winning a 6 nations and doing well in the world cup next year. Yes the games aghainst SA and Samoa in the Autumn were very poor but I think if we can keep our crucial players like O'Connell and O'Driscoll fit, improve our scrum and play a Stringer / Sexton partnership were a match for any team in the world. The games aghainst Argentina and NZ proved that- You dont become a bad team overnight
what a joke, why would you go for a drop goal in the 67th minute when you have the aussies under pressure in their own half and after the drop goal you still need to score again to get the lead?? A converted try would have given them the lead. The reason being Ireland had no faith in scoring a try so they took the easy way out and BOD made the wrong decision
@giavirtae an uncoverted try would have given them the lead, still I don't think it was a bad decision with 13 minutes to go they were down by one after the succesful kick, another drop or penatly could have given them the lead. The amount of times I see teams go for the five( or seven) and fail when the easy three are on offer in a tight game is astounding.
@giavirtae I think England proved that World Cup that it's not about the tries but the three points, a one point game for 13 mins would have been a lot more manageable then needing a try
@deaddonkey2010 Maybe if he moved to South Africa, Australia or New Zealand and played in the Super 15 for a few seasons, then yes he -MIGHT- become the best centre in the world.
Let's just hope BOD is marking SBW when the AB's play Ireland. If he can't out play Sonny Bill Williams, then he can't outplay Fourie or Smith.
@TheFreedomWingZero he already has outplayed fourie. i wont say smith because ireland never really do well against new zealand. i think its also worth mentioning that bod is 31 and nearing the end of his career. sonny bill williams is 25 and only just made his debut
@deaddonkey2010 Fair call, SBW has only just made his debut, but he has the markings of greatness stamped all over him, it's not hard to see it.
But BOD is a good centre, but would he have what it takes to make a mark in Southern Hemisphere Rugby, even when he was younger. I can say this much .. least BOD is better then Sterling Mortlock, who kinda faded into nothing.
Ireland and All Blacks this weekend, should be good.
@TheFreedomWingZero id like to think that bod could have made an impact in th southern hemisphere if he played there, of course the kiwis and aussies like to think that he wud just have been completely owned. ireland all blacks this weekend will be shit. ireland re playing so bad now. their scrum does not exist and they ahve no creativity in the backs. it will be a complete mismatch. nz will absolutely destroy us.
@deaddonkey2010 The Irish, when it comes to the AB's are like Wales, they always lift.
If I remember in 2008, Ireland gave us a damn good game. The weather in the end got too them, I should know, It was in Wellington and I was at the game, and I froze my behind off.
If Ireland can play the full 80, they shouldnt do too bad. But some quick early tries could break them.
@TheFreedomWingZero i think that was in 2006 when we gave ye a good game. might have been 2008, ye did beat us in dublin 2008 handy enough tho. ireland wont be able to play the full 80. it will be a complete embarrassment
@TheFreedomWingZero If you look at the team Graham Henry has named, then it's not in Ireland's favour. Muli'iana Jane Nonu Smith Gear Carter Ellis (WTF!!!) Read McCaw (c) Kaino Thorn Donnolley Franks Elliot Woodcock Pretty much the #1 team, except for Elliot and Ellis (WTF!!) Sonny Bill Williams on the bench, should be interesting when he comes on.
@TheFreedomWingZero Highest scoring centre of All time says it all. And before you say Ireland play against easier competition in the 6N; You guys play the likes of Italy, Wales, Scotland twice a year in the Summer and Autumn internationals. You guys even play more games a year than us!
@TheFreedomWingZero Never said we were better than you - are you glad you got that out of you though? Haven't got a superiority complex where you think everything out of the Southern Hemisphere is just better than the North can produce?
Whose better than him? Fourie? 28 Y/O - 13 tries behind BOD's record
Smith 29 Y/O - 25 tries behind BOD's record
Umaga - retired - wing/centre13 tries behind BOD's record
No disrespect to the other players here - im a big fan of the AB's and Smith
@TheFreedomWingZero yes he was!he was the complete package!could make something from nothing!even the rugby players all over the world will agree!dont think that everyone of ye are gods gift!

Best centre in the world? Are you serious?
He's not the best centre in the world. Jacque Fourie is better then O'Driscoll, and Conrad Smith is better then Fourie.

@TheFreedomWingZero typical southern hemisphere talk there. bod is the best center in the world, no question.

@dadubs93 Yes that's right, and we're still better then you.
The fact is, southern hemisphere rugby is just stronger. And BOD is only the highest scoring centre of all time, cause he's been around the longest.
He's a great centre definately - but he's not the world. Even in his prime he wouldnt have been the best.
