They both have one win. They're even in SAG & BAFTA noms. There isn't much difference in their resumes. I know this much: They both come from the same generation, cinema-wise, yet only one of them is constantly referred to as "The greatest actor of his generation" and it's not Russell. Just saying.

I like Crowe's acting and movies but other than Gladiator he does not have any memorable or even slightly legendary movies. Dicaprio has Gilbert Grape and Titanic and his collarborations with Scorsese which have made him the envy of all actors in Hollywood. Crowe would give his left hand to be the lead in a Scorsese movie.Dicaprio also has Inception coming out which is the current favorite to win best picture next year.

Lay of the crack. bubblegum actor ? That's Kutcher or Lautner. Dicaprio only does great scripts being helmed by outstanding directors. He doesn't do pretty boy roles. And he is the most sought after actor in all of showbiz, all top directors love his work as do the likes of Penn and Day Lewis and Nicholson... they know far more about acting than you. Crowe's career has faltered because of box office flops and dive like behavior. He himself admitted he doesn't get enarly as many offers now.

A lot can happen between now and the Oscars but for now Dicaprio and Depp have the most heat for a best actor Oscar next year. Dicaprio for Shutter island(Scorsese) or Inception(Chris Nolan), and Depp for the Rum Diary. Crowe has zero heat and Cruise will never win for Knight and day which is a popcorn flick and not Oscar material. Have you even seen Dicaprio's work with Scorsese ? If Scorsese says he is a great actor than he is.

Dicaprio is much less comfortable in interviews than Crowe. Crowe is very talkative and bubbly, Dicaprio is more introverted ala Depp, Ledger, Brando, Deniro. He's just shy, that's all.

I just love Leonardo i think he is by far one of the best actors today. it feels like todays movies are filed with a lot of phony acting but with this actor you can feel his emotions and his potion for acting, I love how he keeps it real and just does what he loves to do. It would be so nice if more actors were as good as he is. No matter what part he plays he nails it. I always become immersed in the story plot. Maybe he can be a teach one day, so people could learn to be real actors.
