@HeszXDopee I'm not sure how latex paints will work on foam; but I can assure you, the paint has little effect on the foam. The damage is caused by the spray propellant. That's why, on most foams, you must keep the can away from the foam at least 18 inches.
@YourFriendlyMe I would not recommend spray painting EPP! It's the most prone to damage of the foams. Use a latex paint and clear-coat when you're done.
do it carefully because if you screw up and repull the tape, as you mentioned , the paint will come off.
i surprised myself, it actually looks very good! even spray, no paint runs or undone spots and critical areas reinforced and protected from chips/dings/wet grass/dirt/mud thanks to you i got the courage to spray it thanks for your video! now post one of electronics/brushless upgrade!! :)
I couldnt get the universal , so i settled for the same one on your video. After a perfect spray job, i covered the under side and sides (afer installing decals) with packing tape as well and the wing leading edges and wing tips. i also reinforced the tail leading edges and tips with the clear packing tape. these are the most likely areas to be damaged by use or hard landings/crashes (personal experience :))
I used carbon fiber rods in the tail and wing to protect those from breaking but it leaves them vulnerable to any chipping and cracks. That's alright, though; you're not supposed to crash planes ;)
Great work testing. i will be using your test results as a baseline to spray paint my Super Cub. ill be using the UNIVERSAL rustoleum type. how does the paint hold up to use/dings upon landing? paking tape over paintjob?
UNIVERSAL is supposed to be better and others at the SuperCubClub claim it is very effective. My Cub's paint holds up very nicely in rough landings. The tape IS a problem. I added a decal to the top of the wing and when I removed the lightly adhesive lining, 80% of the paint came off with it.
Another Type Of Spray Paint You Can Use Is " Water Based " Spray Paint . If I'm Not Mistaking It Will NOT Damage Any Type Of Foam.

@YourFriendlyMe before you paint, learn to fly a little better. And ALWAYS build to fly, NOT to crash.

OH, no way. lol. I wouldn't paint the Cub again. NeCubFlyer has a great yellow Super Cub! It's an awesome little bird. Check out his videos. Thanks!

I cant wait to see it. i will use your expertise to possibly do the same to my supercub. Have you given your SC a name?
