  • I was recently cast as Tevye in my school's production!

  • I'm fiddler in musical :p

  • The truth: It wasn't a horse or a mule! It was a pair of coconuts that were being clapped together!

  • @michee67 i dont think so....i heard it was the village gossip or something like that, but perhaps it was jsut written in for our stage play!

  • Freaking awesome!!!

  • is "marika" (i think thats her name!) a bit part in fiddler on the roof?

  • @bethnee9989 I am not sure who that is. Is it one of the daughters?

  • @michee67 It's not one of the daughters. I think bethnee9989 is saying the character Miryla who is one of the villagers. Tevye's 5 daughters' names are Tzeitel, Hodel, Chava, Shprintze, and Bielke.

  • @bethnee9989 It might be a chorus part! There's a woman named Mirala.

  • @bethnee9989 xdxd

  • we're performing this in my school :3 I made part of ensemble :D

  • I just read the 1971 review of the film in Life Magazine. Amazingly, the critic gave the movie and Topol a not so good review. My jaw dropped. What was he thinking? Today this show/ movie and Topol are beloved all over world.

  • @piccolo136, I will have to look for that video. I do recommend reading the review though. There is a also a great article on the original production with Zero Mostel in a 1964 issue. You can read them on google books.

  • it is not as good as St pauls high scool

  • @blinne06 We've worked hard!!! Thanks for coming! I'm mentioning this in my pulse speach this weekend!!!

  • chills.

  • I had the honor of seeing Topol in his last tour of "Fiddler on the Roof" at the Orpheum in Memphis last year. Yes, a little older, but he was still funny and fantastic!

  • i love this show. you'd think that after being in the movie and also numerous stage productions...that script would forever be engraved in his brain!

  • There is no other tevya. This show was so good.

  • I saw this in SF.topol dint do it but harvey firestien was better than him.I got his autograph!

  • Topol got injured right before I saw the show : ( but the replacement was great too

  • Topol IS Tevye. I could never see another man play this part. He would just appear to be an actor.

  • i love the rabbis sons costume, it reminds me of the phantoms in love never dies

  • An amazing song! I love the flute in the background when the "daughters" sing. Topol's voice is so unique!

    Where is this?

  • Where was this? And when?

  • @FireGirlG It was in West Palm Beach Kravitz Center, April of 2009

  • I saw this at DPAC! Topol was friggin awesome!!! The whole time I was like "I can't believe he's standing in the same room as me...."

  • Just got back from the show.

It was amazing and a wonderful time at the theatre!

Topol is one of a kind and makes Tevye easily the most loveable character ever written for the stage.

    Bravo!

  • 7:30 gives me chills.

    This is greatness

  • OMG Whatta performance!!!! I can't help singing along...dai dai dai :)))

  • I saw him in Orlando about a week ago. When he came out everyone in that theater stood up and a huge applause for him. And the same after each monologue and song he did. Wonderful man.

  • awesome im playing chava in this musical and seeing this helps soooo much with the steps.

  • I know this sounds crazy, but I just saw this tonight at OCPAC and after the audience clapped for him, it was SILENT. Whenever that man spoke, every single person was just fixed on his every movement. This particular scene was so perfect, I ended up crying because it was just so simple. I LOVED the show. absolutely loved it.

  • yeah, the oc opening night was breathtaking....

  • It is so beautiful!! Topol is amazing!!

    I love him so much!

  • "Without Our Traditions, Our lives, will be as shaky as, a Fiddler On The Roof!" - Topol

  • Topol is freaking amazing. I get to see him again!
