It may not work if you're using a laptop. You need the extended keyboard numbers on the right that usually come with desktop / extention type keyboards. Just hold alt and type 0160 and voila, there's your invisible name.

0160 is indeed a system space, you can use a normal space if you wanted. Or actually hide it with a programming language.

Well djime246, it's not really about the MACHINE you're using, it just matters if you have a keyboard that would use NUM LOCK. So it's not that it's a laptop or anything -- just the peripherals.

Make a new folder > rename it by typing: ALT and 0160 with the keypad on the RIGHT at the same tine > right click your folder > Properties > Customize > Change Icon > Select the blank icon > click APPLY (maybe you forgot that?) > click ok. > click a few times on the desktop and it should go invisible.

Rename it something else and change the icon back to you want to make the folder normal again. that help? :)

Yup, everything is normal as it would be, just invisible.  As long as you remember where you put the folder/document, you can also make it Visible again. By the way, it's 0160 with the keypad to the RIGHT. if your computer doesn't have that, this won't work for all i know.
