Got to see him in Albuquerque this May, everyone in the bar was talking, not paying any attention to the openers, Then this dude got on stage, and the entire crowd was silent for the next 45 minutes, totally entranced. I've never seen anything like it, it blew my mind. Got to shake his hand and thank him afterward, I'll never forget it.
great to see you at the Port Fairy Folk Fest in Australia earlier this month. Hope to see you in Canada soon. would love to see you in Calgary at the Ironwood Stage and Grill.
I gotta throw my 2 cents into this Joe Pug vs. Bob Dylan conversation. If anyone really knew the history of Bob Dylan's musical evolution you would know that in his early days he was a carbon copy of Woody Guthrie, a straight rip off really. Voice style as well as his guitar style. If the Dylan fans now know that he took a lot of heat for his album "Modern Times" there where several "song credit issues" however critically praised. The point is, is that people need to start somewhere.
why aren't there more comments on this song? or views for that matter? this young man is going to be his generation's Bob Dylan (and, sorry I'm no fan of Dylan's), but he's just that kinda songwriter....have been blessed to see him 4 times....so far....if you get a chance....go!
was able to see this precious singer in Minneapolis 10/18, on his 10.00 Tour....if you get a chance to see him on this tour, don't miss it!!! check out his site for tour dates, he's on the road nearly nonstop until the middle of November....incredible!!
Saw him to today in Nuremburg for the first time, what a talent, amazing.
He opened for Steve Earl, the guy at Steve's merchendising stand told me the customs are sitting on Joe's CDs so he's kinda down because he can't sell any, how sad.
yep.......i did see him, in Nov., he was great, even talked for a long while after the show....in a little club in Minneapolis, the chairs was horrible, but the show was incredible.....wonderful stuff....
just saw this incredible young man in St. Paul with Justin Townes Earle, place was small and way too crowded, but a wonderful show, beautiful singers....keep up your spirit Joe!
yeah, i saw him for the first time in Texas, he opened for Steve Earle on this current tour...we saw Steve Thursday night in Minneapolis, but Joe Pug wasn't with him...i was so sorry....he's incredible!!!
The night I saw Joe Pug the first time, when he sang the title line, I sort of yelled, "Damn!" cause it struck me so hard. (Sorry if I interrupted you, Joe!)
i saw this incredible young man June 20 in New Braunfels, TX, he opened for my 20 yr plus hero, Steve Earle, and i was totally mesmerized by his talent...i think, and hope, we will see many more years of him, he has been blessed with so much ability, just like Steve and Townes before him, real magic...
I ran to get water during intermission at last nights Ann Arbor Folk Festival, and I walked in after this song had begun (they only gave him one and gave groups like Girlyman 20 minute sets---I am not bitter... well, a little). The music just hit me. It was beautiful and haunting.
I saw this guy perform at the genesee theatre and thought he did a great job so i went out and bought his cd in the lobby. he's got some talent, reminds me of a young bob dylan
Sent this one out again to our veterans.

dylan ripped off ramblin jack more than woody. joe isn't ripping off anybody, that i can tell.
i pray to jack daniels that joe stays true regardless the venue size.

Awesome performance. Surreal hearing "Bury me far from my uniform" played in an RSL last night in suburban Melbourne.

Yeah, same at Glasgow, CDs were still stuck somewhere. Shame, 'cause I think he'd have shifted a good few based on his performance that night.

If Dylan was dead already I might have said he came back as Joe Pug. But luckily we are blessed with both at the same time.
