I say we stop giving the rich money like athlelte, movie stars, and look for money of our own and let them make money other ways.they don't need anymore money
There would have been NO traumatizing had Bernard King been on the Knicks. Jordan doesnt get half of his titles...Look at the one year the Knicks had Xavier McDaniel, the Knicks gave the Bulls all they could handle, so imagine having a scorer like King in the last 2 minutes of "all" of those close games those teams had .Bulls had no answer for King
Starks really crapped the bed in the 93-94 finals...2-18. BUT, you couldn't help but love him as a Knicks fan. Starks, Mason, Oak, Ewing...all those guys gave 100% for the team every night. And as for this play in particular...GET IT STARKS
i think the timing of the move made it so important. knicks up only 3 with a minute to go in the game. really helped seal the game. gutsy move at crunch time by a gutsy player.
80's & 90's B-ball was simply beautiful!! I love my days growing up in Chicago. I can clearly say now, I miss Starks,Lambieer,Reggie,Barkely,Kevin,Oakley, thorpe,Magic,Bird,Xavier,Kemp,Payton, well, Ya'll know what I mean! Beautiful era!
This play brought me outta my seat w/ excitement (I'm neither a Knicks nor Bulls fan, just a hoops junkie). Starks was a GREAT competitor and IMO is scapegoated too often by bitter haters. I remember they charted MJ's average vertical leap on his jumpers when closely guarded by Starks. It was 40 inches on average! And Starks was sooo close to the ball each time, but MJ had him dialed in.
Also, if this dunk is included, the NBA list should include KJ's dunk on Olajuwon which was also epic.
Dat's the truth! The NBA's list is bogus, especially in terms of ranking. I'm a die-hard long-time Laker fan, but too many hyped Jordan/Lakers/Celtics highlights are ranked ahead of superior "moments".
THe poor Knicks. After having been traumatized by the bulls they were never the same again. Give it to Ewing. Now after almost 10 years, it really shows that he was the MVP of that whole squad for his entire career. Without EWING, they are more worthless than those ads on top of their taxis.
1) Pat Ewing is an all time great.
2) Madison Square Garden sounds damn intense with their DE-FENSE
3) Starks had no fear of anybody. John Starks is a great player.
@HonoreT35 i agree with u almost 100 percent.....i wouldnt say they were worthless with out ewing but they would have probably never had a chance without him...i miss the knicks from the early 90's always a knick fan but what the hell happen...team starks for life.
@HonoreT35 and they suck even more with melo on their team, I thought melo would carry them to at least a 4th seed, but they got 7th, still go KNICKS!!!!
How can this be in the top 60, and Jordans dunk in the 1991 first round where he loses starks and oakley on the baseline and posterizes Ewing not be? Or Pippens fast break facial on Ewing in 1994? Two of the best plays ever.....
As a true Bulls fan.. I have to concede that this was an amazing stuff by Starks. Although the screen *ahem* push by Ewing on BJ is questionable.

great dunk for sure...
but if marv called it with a little more excited (like he would if jordan made the exact same dunk) then it might've ranked higher than #60.

Jon Starks was loyal to the Knicks, he's probably their greatest role player ever, they should retire his jersey

OK let me get this straight. 61 playoff moments and no Celtics/Sixers from '81? No Olajuwon vs Robinson '95? These folks are on crack!!

Fro about 3 years Starks was as good as a 2 guard as anyone not named Jordan
Aldon3 2 years ago
i guess. he was just too small though. he's a few notches below joe d as an early 90s premiere 2 guard
