I am Canadian and Polish and I am ashamed of this. I am ashamed by our RCMP and how they dealt with the situation. If it were anyone, it doesn't matter. Things could have been handled differently. These Police officers did the right thing by tasering the subject! He was agitated and had what looked to be a pipe in this right hand at 6:47 this is taken as a weapon that can harm one of the officers then at 6:50 it shows him coming towards the officer and swinging the object at him TRYING TO HARM AND POSSIBLY CAUSE THE OFFICER GRIEVOUS BODILY HARM OR DEATH the officers tasered the individual and controlled the situation. These officers did there job and kept the peace!

This poor man complied with what orders he was able to understand. He was not resisting. There was no reason for the cops to kill him.

You know, he may have been very disorderly but being tasered four to five times is anything but an awful decision on the part of the RCMP. The taser is ment to be used atleast once on a person. Also, they could've used pepper spray on him and he would survive. They're wouldn't be any danger to other people because it was a glass window so no one would be hurt besides Dziekanski. The RCMP lied during most of the investigation. This is a canadian shame.

These Police officers did the right thing by tasering the subject! He was agitated and had what looked to be a pipe in this right hand at 6:47 this is taken as a weapon that can harm one of the officers then at 6:50 it shows him coming towards the officer and swinging the object at him TRYING TO HARM AND POSSIBLY CAUSE THE OFFICER GRIEVOUS BODILY HARM OR DEATH the officers tasered the individual and controlled the situation. These officers did there job and kept the peace!

This poor man complied with what orders he was able to understand. He was not resisting. There was no reason for the cops to kill him.
The problem here was that the cops didn't care to bother with trying to communicate with him. They saw a chance to use their toys (which gather dust in the highly-civil setting of an airport) and they shot HIM with thousands of volts of electricity just to make their lives a little easier.
Now he's dead for no good reason at all. HE WAS NOT A THREAT TO ANYBODY!

@laurleythegreat maybe you do not know the full story... it was his first flight but the problem was that he was held on that airport for more then 10 hours without any explanation why... his mother was waiting for him and she was asking for him... someone even said to her that he did not come on that flight. he was very tired, hungry and lonely... no wonder that he was angry.... those officers were( and still are) assholes and loosers and jus in my opinion heartless bastards without brains....

This man was in an airport. An area known for terrorist/homeland security issues. Granted he might have been lost, he might have been frustrated, he might have been scared. BUT UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCE IS IT LAWFUL TO BEGIN TO SCREAM, BREAK PROPERTY, THROW CHAIRS OR COMPUTER MONITORS. The officers arrived, and didnt put a hand on him. The argument being advanced is that the police used an unnecessary amount of force and murdered someone. If you throw a tantrum, the police have the right to arrest you, take you to a station and charge you with disturbing the peace, public indecency, etc. - NOT the right to taser you to death.

@hhfleury officers didnt murder anyone. he died as a result of the EQUIPMENT THEY WERE ISSUED. officers are trained in the USE OF FORCE CONTINUUM AND KNOW IT VERY WELL. they didnt want to start a 4 on 1 fight, and possibly sustain bight wounds from someone who has shown signs of serious aggression, agitation, and or deranged mentality. tasers are great ways to take down a suspect. its clean, effective, but sometimes more than 1 dose is needed. if they die- OH WELL. Anyway, even if he was a biligerent, malicious shit disturber, the police still could have taken him down easily with pepper spray and/or knightsticks. They could have even shot him in the leg with their pistols. The taser was completely unnecessary, especially when he was already down.

Everybody knows you can't act like that in an airport. I am not at all surprised that they tasered him. People get tasered every day for less, and nothing is made of it because they don't die. Save your tears for something that deserves them.

hmm. what happened before the camera started rolling. He obstructed a doorway with those chairs and that is going to raise serious concerns. You can see he was behaving oddly. As a matter of fact, if you have a problem at any EU airport, they will find you a translator and deal with the problem. there was clearly in my opinion no stapler in his hand. fucking pieces of shit had to kill an innocent man for nothing. To top it off one of these pigs killed another guy in delta and walked away from the scene. one cop killed 2 times and got away with it. theres anothere one from the kamloops dept that has killed 2. look it up. i am stating fact if you do not believe me. im very surprised to see this, i live in canada and they usually deal with situations calm and helpful, i understadn this man is not acting good but he did not harm anyone, there was 4 police and he yelled "police police" he was happy that they were coming to "help " him , they could have calmed him down and solved the problem without weapons, this is canada not middle east!!
