I have not flown her for 2 years. A month ago I was 5 ft away from one near Washington DC. I think you throttle all the way as far as I remember. There is a readme file that comes with the aircraft
@pdgb101548 It is and AlphaSim product. The one I used is freeware and can be Googled. AlphaSim is not longer an operating company. They had a payware version released in 2008 that is really quite good.
@dylanlp1999 I have not flown the SR71 since Dec 2008. I think you should have a txt file that explains all that. It depends on which SR-71 Model you have.
Apparently you guys never heard of the DR-21, the drone parasite for the A-12/SR-71, originally called the Q-12. It was designed to be launched from the top of the A-12 and used for recon or as a cruise missile. Go to wiki and search on DR-21. Good article
@astrolopitequs23 My flight was researched. Nearly all SR-71 missions were boring. Care had to be taken not to over maneuver the aircraft to avoid airframe damage. Your video shows untypical turns and low altitude flight. The SR-71s operating ceiling was 80,000 ft. The SR-71 was never designed for offensive missions. Missiles on the outside of this aircraft would disturb the mach factor and/or heat up and detonate. Defensive action on the Blackbird was to simply accelerate.
@skittlepower95 "Boring" Those where pilot comments. "Getting to the forward location from Beale AFB some of the longest, coldest, most uncomfortable and boring commutes known to mankind." Richard H. Graham Col. USAF (RET)
@capilanobay I was being sarcastic ... awfull job actually, but I have to do it.
I like the idea of the stars and the sunset. But I will go with what the pilots had to say. To them it was a routine and boring job unless they had to outrun missles. Then it was something.
The helmet did not offer much view and the cockpit was mostly instruments.
i had a few sr 71's i downloaded for MS flightsimulator 98 and 2002 and it was alot of fun...couldnt quite replicate the record (exactly) but it was alot of fun to fly...you really had to pay attention because your going 2000MPH and comming up on things so quickly...its still my all time favorite plane..its beautiful and has an amazing look..im 36 and have loved this place since i was a little boy, i saw bring them back into service since we can find people anyway every little bit helps lol.
i liked that very much "classified" most of the things are classified - like the SR71 was really! i enjoy this video very much! thanks for your efforts in one wonderful video!
hey how do you get the afterburners on? i go full throttle with my joystick and it only goes 175. did you get yours from simaviation? and how do you get to 80,000 ft+, i can only get half that
As the author of the model I must point out that while it is the work of AlphaSim it is from 2003 not 2006. The 2006 AlphaSim SR-71 is a much more advanced aircraft and much more challenging. Cool video : )
Yup, the frame rates are terrible. I am going to do a remake of it when life slows down.

@DeltaAlphaDeltaOne He can fly at 88:000 Feets, it´s true, but isn´t necesary. He can go at 3553 km/h (oficials) reals 3883 km/h (BUT ISN´T NECESARY)
I don´t fly at low altitude, the altitude was good to maniobrate, same altitude like awaks.
astrolopitequs23 1 year ago
@DeltaAlphaDeltaOne how is flying at 80,000 ft. at mach 2.5-3.2 boring, you can see the curve of the earth and stars during the day

how you get the parochute out
frostedsnakes08 2 years ago
You should have a readme file with:
Braking parachute : spoiler (/) key. The chute will only be visible if the mainwheels are on the ground.
Inlet Spikes : these move on the flaps key and will enable higher speeds to be achieved at high altitudes.
Full throttle will achieve supersonic flame rendering. Also the contrails are shocked as in real life.
DeltaAlphaDeltaOne 2 years ago
how you turn the flames on? i have only the Fsx one but i download the planes i have that one and im trying to figure out how to turn super sonic on
frostedsnakes08 2 years ago
What do you use for a recorder? Is it Fraps? Whatever it is, it has great quality
Cyclones38 3 years ago
Did you get yours from simviation? If so, I see there are 2 Alphasim's: One is "Ichi Ban" 19 mb and another that's only 3 mb
Cyclones38 3 years ago
I forget where I got it. Don't keep track of where I get freeware. Download both and try them out.
The one I have had three files ... one for panel one for first release and one for upgrade.
That is all I know beyond above.
DeltaAlphaDeltaOne 3 years ago
hey how do you get the afterburners on? i go full throttle with my joystick and it only goes 175. did you get yours from simaviation? and how do you get to 80,000 ft+, i can only get half that

what are the controls?
Cyclones38 3 years ago
Oh ... and make sure you are running the upgrade Phil put out.
DeltaAlphaDeltaOne 3 years ago
This particular SR71 Blackbird was the work of AlphaSim 2006 - and is freeware.
To get high altitude the engine spikes need to be moved.
Inlet Spikes : these move on the flaps key and will enable higher speeds to be achieved at high altitudes.
The model's readme file has all the rest of the information.

The trick is the spikes ... you need to view your readme files. (Spikes are activated with the flaps keys)
