  • Morning glory... the whole world seems gay. LOL How the HELL did the meanings of so many things change so drastically? Must have been the 60s & 70s... dirty hippies.

  • all the world seems gay

  • This is really happy music. I would like to see the whole movie. The Pickens sisters were in a Vitaphone short from 1933 called "20,000 Cheers for the Chain Gang." It was a hilarious spoof of some prison movies of the day and had lots of singing and dancing in that early 30s style. They sang When its Darkness on the Delta.

  • The good-looking fellow with the high voice is Arthur Jarrett.

  • They don't write songs like that anymore!

  • The tin man is great. 6 years before the role that would make him famous.

  • it was good

  • Can you post this whole movie?

    I would love it!

    Thanx :0)

  • RANDOM MIDGETS!

Also, the Pickens Sisters get a 1,000 points for doing that hands-over-the-mouth-trumpet thing. I never thought women did that!

I could also comment on how fetching Jack Haley is in his shirtsleeves, but I'll refrain.

  • don't refrain, go for it, you only live once

  • cool comment

  • Good Morning Glory--Best...song.....ever

  • Wow! Patti Pickens was my grandmother. My whole life I have wanted to see a movie clip of her with her sisters, The Pickens Sisters, but couldn't find one. Please tell me who you are and where you got this clip from!

  • I have it on VHS; it's from SITTING PRETTY, made in 1933, not the Clifton Webb picture of the same name made about 1948.

  • Hello--I spoke to your very charming grandmother, Patti, just a few months before she died and was able to send to her all of her records on tape plus a few film shorts...

I've shared these since with her son, David... so I assume you're not David's daughter? Would be glad to make copies of what I have for you--Harmoniously yours, David McCain, Washington, NJ

  • How cool! What a neat treat you must have had seeing this! I've heard these girsl before (knowing they were not the Boswell Sisters) and instantly fell in love with their sound. I only found out today who they were via RadioDismuke, and am so thankful. Going out to see if I can find any of their songs on cd. Wish me luck!! =)

  • This was before movie people had their teeth capped and veneered within an inch their life. Who was the girl trio? Sounded, but did not look like, the Boswell Sisters.

  • The Pickens Sisters

  • I LOVE THIS!!!!!!!
