I like how the film crew was just as open to try their native dishes as the test participants were to trying a foreign dish (from their perspective) as a hamburger. Remarkable subtext of how we can use food to breakdown barriers and understand other cultuers
My reaction to this video was one of warmth and hope, that barriers could be broken and bridges built through something as simple as a hamburger...however, that reaction is tempered with the lingering thought that corporate agenda and expediency pushed aside a remarkable and rare innocence and trampled the exchange of commonality and humanity.....just a couple of thoughts....
Sure, the point is to discover that burgers are such a great taste experience by someone who never ate one. Knowing what is like to eat a burger means to be on the grid? Flocking bustards!
Scientifically or anthropologically, you prove nothing with this film. What you can show is your narrow-mindedness.
This "experiment" is financed by famous fast-food chains? What's the conclusion to be expected from such an experiment? Of course, that burgers have an universal value!
You go to Greenland, were people have survived in outstandingly harsh conditions for hundreds of years, and you give them a piece of your culture for a taste test? A blob of chemically enhanced meat?
Those people live on the ice. They're incredible. You think you actually did them a favor by flying a grill, via helicopter. Waste of resources.
I don't know who your target audience was. Let's just hope it didn't include any of the people in these 3 countries.
this is disgusting. these burgers are full of junk chemicals these peoples bodies are not used to. it is so sad. all this for an ad campaign, and they're going into areas and villages where people are starving and they want them to do a taste test. WTF?!
romania is off the grid? please, i think mc donald's is doing so well there they have money coming out of every hole. no wonder there's people who go there for the first time and are surprised we have electricity. thanks a lot guys, for asking the people to take out their national costumes which they NEVER wear and making it look like "off the grid romania" is a black hole in the ass of a medieval giant.
I like seal meat better.

Just because it was a commercial doesn't mean it can't be interesting to watch and appreciate. I thought it was nice.
