I have seen a Ford mustang do 7.3 @ 198mph in street trim. I hae heard he now does 6.9's at around 207mph now. I have seen a couple of cars faster than this in street trim. Just look up worlds quickest drag radial pass here on youtube and it will be the first one.

To QUALIFY for the worlds quickest street it must be run on pump gas (93 octane), driven to the race at a MINIMUM of miles and have all working lights, titled, and have DOT street tires while racing. This car is does not qualify for quickest street.......Quickest street car is themotorworks purple duster.

There are different ways to calculate the octane rating - Americans use a different system which results in a lower figure, but it's the same stuff we put in our cars.

You can buy up to 117 octane race fuel over here. I know you need an engine with high compression to actually see an improvement - anyone know if a turbo engine would fulfill that criteria?

well it is, & i've seen it on the street, all cars in the uk street eliminator series have to complete a 25mile observed cruise inc 2 hot starts & taking on pump gas at a regular gas station,, if you dont finish the cruise you dont qualify to race!!
