Im a great Pilot, i mean, im a pro at Formation Flying, and also at civil Planes etc. But i just checked at my better PC my FPS: 30 FPS. NVidia GeForce 8600GS, with 256MB. 2GB Ram. Core 2 Duo @ 2.66 GHZ. Not really a gamer pc... :P
Its a little sensor which you put on your headset or cap and it detects movements of your head and puts it on the screen. So if you tilt your head left, the viewpoint in the aircraft moves left.
Seems cool but does the amount of movement in the screen mimic the real thing or is much more? Because if you look out the window doesn't that mean the screen is not in front of you any more?LOL
Got mine. seemed like a good idea. and if you can manage to get all the settings right, it might stay steady for a little, while, but my experience has not been good with it to this point. anyone know and tips or settings secrets. this thing I paid $150 bucks for, is driving me crazy. Tumbling and views all over the place. will not settle down, and your chasing your little mouse hand all over the Panel, trying to hold it steady while the entire cockpit is "Floating" all over the place! %#!@&#
Haha I hear you. You try to keep your head as still as possible so you can click stuff in the cockpit... actually I hardly use TrackIR nor FSX much any more, being so busy :( Ebay maybe?
Lol. yup, I know you understand. at this point, it's a done deal, will just keep it, and call it a novelty purchase. perhaps down the road, I can figure it out better, and make it more useful. I now see, that it is a "Fun" little tool to use in FS, for swiveling your head to look out the window, which ( purportedly) is to add realism to the Sim Experience. till now, it's only added some headache. I think serious Simmers, who use INSTRUMENTS", don't really need this. I like my Panel to be steady!
I'm thinking about getting a TrackIR - only games that support it that I own as far as I know are TDU and FSX. Is it worth it? PS - what buttons do you use to control zoom in the Tower view?
both videos and music are ok. i bought my track IR like yours last week and I'm counting the days till I get it. I built my own flight sim and I'm hooking it up to my home movie screen and projector which is 12' wide, so I'm hoping this IR will really let me enjoy things like in the real plane.
nVidia 7900GS 256MB. You also need a good dual core processor because FSX is more reliant on it than the graphics card. Try maybe getting a 7900GT 512MB?
I'm not much for music either, but it's really not that bad. If it's heavy metal music, I'm out. Is this the TrackIR Pro 4 that comes with the attachment on the hat and on the headset?
There's a few things you can do. Defrag your hard drive (O&O Defrag 10 Complete/Name Method), optimise your settings and reduce the number of things running in the background etc. Hope this helps!
what do you have your speed and smooth set to on the trackir program?

whats the difference between Track IR 4 and Track IR 5. I am on a laptop so do i lose frames with track ir?
TheFlight17 1 year ago
@TheFlight17 IDK about the frames. Probably not. IR4 and 5 are almost exactly the same both do the same thing.

I'd really love to know what your computer specs are for such a lovely show. Then I could gauge for myself what I should be able to run fsx at.

Hows the FPS, if i use trackir on 10 fps at this pc, at the other one at 15-20. Would it still be good?
AirFreaKz 3 years ago
10fps is far too low. Reduce your settings so that you get 20-30fps. TrackIR won't reduce performance very much, maybe 1fps at most.
harryg94 3 years ago
I already ordered mine. =)

aw mane i would get this but i need my 9800GT is more important :(

Remember that you'll get more FPS in FSX from a better Processor than Graphics card. But I guess you're a gamer :P

You could try overclocking your processor, that'll let you bump up the settings a bit.
harryg94 3 years ago
Hmm i even dont know where i can let it to overlock etc.

You can get a free alternative FreeTrack all you need is to make the hat or clip and a webcam.

Yeah it amplifies it. You can completely customise the settings so it's more or less sensitive.
harryg94 3 years ago
I am pretty aroused by the thing. LOL

maybe if you move further from the screen it could reduce jerkiness.

Yeah I did last night - saw quite a few more games listed their that I own - so I think I will get one soon.

+ and -, just as normal. Take a look at naturalpoint's website, it supports far more games than that!

why do all these videos about aviation always have to be accompanied by this retarded music?
selby06 3 years ago
Lol it's not THAT bad, not as bad as some. I guess it makes it a bit boring without music. It's the user interface music included with FSX.
