My rifle got to my house 6 days before JFK, & the mail order gun biz dried up. "I certify I am at least 21 years of age". Why heck, yes...I was 12, & used the $20 I just gotten for my birthday!!

  • I bought a Mk III Model 1 mail order here in the US in 1963 for $11.99 plus $5 shipping just before JFK was killed. My rifle got to my house 6 days before JFK, & the mail order gun biz dried up. "I certify I am at least 21 years of age". Why heck, yes...I was almost 12!!

  • Ordinarily I find collections of multiples of the same gun to be really pointless, but they're bloody Lee-Enfields, so it's completely forgiveable.

I only have two "sporterized" rifles, a SMLE Mk.I, and a No.4 Mk.I. I truely hate whoever cut the stock (and the barrel, in the case of the SMLE Mk. I) down.

  • nice collection

  • nothing better than clean enfield rifles

  • im only 13, but i cant wait till im 18 so i can buy my aunties

  • I own a lee enfield, mines jammed at the moment and i have no clue how to unjam it, there was no magazine in it, it was dry. The bolt isnt all the way into the gun but the handle for cocking the gun is all the way down and wont budge. help will be greatly appreciated

  • Try pulling the back of the bolt back to cock it. and then dry fire the rifle. I assume the gun is unloaded.

  • Hey iam across the pond and all the gun stores around me dont have a clue where to get or even know what the hell a Lee Enfield is so if you could can anybody help me out and give some websites so i can purchase one thanks yaw

  • what side of the pond? cuz here in Canada u walk into almost any gun store or gun show and theres dozens of lee enfields, i was at a show at the beginning of june i think it was and u couldn't walk to any table without seeing at least 10 enfields on it, but thats cuz we used em in canada, its probably alot harder to find them in the states cuz they used the Springfield's 1903 and the garand, i see a few garands around and no 1903s so its probably just what country ur in

  • haha "i think ive lost it" it can easily happen im afraid.

  • I think you lost it too! Who would ever want or need so many guns?

Haha, just kidding! I will soon get my C&R and can't wait to start!

  • No cobber you did not lose it ! I love enfields too I just wish I had decent cheap ammo to shoot.

  • I think you need a few more

    :D

  • nice collection, love the enfields

  • you sure know your enfields mate, nice collect there!

  • Nice collection! i'm just starting my own collection, goin to pick up my first Enfield tommorow. i cant wait. i can tell already i wont be able to stop myself at just one.

  • nice collection, I know the feeling when the bug bites, you have to buy, good luck and good shooting

  • I bought a No.4 Mk 1 for $100 in mint condition.

  • i bought a lee enfeild mk2 for 300 in a pawn shop but it in like mint condition i think i over paid a little but i love shooten it did i over Pay?

  • whats the price of a lee enfield and where can i find one?

  • i have a lithgow, and it is my primary hunting rifle, in canada these lee's typicall y go for 50 dollars at gun shops, the best sheepest and most accurate rifle available for under 2000$

    good job Britts!!!

  • australian!!!

  • sarry lol

  • does anyone know where I can get a scope for my Lee Enfield No.4 mk.2 made in 1949?

Apparently there is a company making replicas of them.

  • ht sniper, beutiful. I ahve found a number 1 mark 3 for 130 american. it is in pretty good condition and plan to pick it up in a week or so.

  • Hey Jollygreenslugg, love the vids so far, I've never had a .303 YET but I do intend on getting one some time down the track. Anyone who doubts the .303, remember this "48 tons/inch of energy" is what leaves the barrel. Is the scope an add-on or ADI gear? Ever thought about going on "Collectors" on the ABC??

  • Impressive Collection.

  • Wheel us both off to the sanitarium, i've lost it too!

  • I'm very happy I subscribed to your videos, also a great collection and dont forget about the Ishapore Enfields as i'm sure you will love one ;)

  • it's too bad you cant get a garand :( hopefully you will get a mosin nagant soon, I cant find any stores or websites that sell lee enfields so i'm going to go with a mosin or a mauser :)

  • I'm not sure where you are located but I just picked up a No.1 Mk III from Century Arms. If you are in the U.S. get a C&R license and have it on file with Century. You can pick up Mosins, Enfields, and K98s easily. I love the Mosins and I have a 91/30, 91/30 hex, M44, M38 and even a Nagant revolver.

  • what is your opinion on the ishapore enfields that are chambered in 7.62 NATO?

  • Lovely rifles. I'm going to pick one up sometime next year. All the fun of a .303 with easier access to ammo. What more could you want?!

  • @Jollygreenslugg I have one of the "Jungle Carbine" Ishapore rifles and it is a real shooter with 150gr. Federal Ballistic-tip ammo. The barrel is beautiful and with iron sights I can squeeze 1" groups at 100 yards out of it. I got this rifle for $200 US a couple of years ago, I think I did pretty good.

  • how do you like the no5 mk1? everything I read about it said that it was a terrible rifle, but the other video posted of it showed it firing nicely...what were the issues concerning its performance?

  • Love the No5. There were claims that it was harder on the shoulder and less accurate. Collectors today dispute this.

  • Im impressed.

  • I bought a lee enfield for 200 bucks and a sniper 600 bucks

  • The snipers are now very pricy in the US.$1400 to $2300 and a complete kit in the case is over $5000. Very nice. Close to my collection. Latest is a Irish contract 1954 in mint condition with matching serial # bayonet. A steal at $180 from a nice old friend.

  • Nice collection theres a lot of history there. If you want (i remeber saying you wanted one in one of your videos) an american weapon from this era, get an M1903 Springfield. It is nice weapon and well made.

  • very nice rifles sir

  • THESE WERE COOOL...until they invented waay better looking/working ones~...

  • Garand hah! overcomplicated piece of crap give me 303 any day.

  • Could you say how much you spent on each rifle? I'm having a problem. There is a SMLE mk 4 not more than 1 km from here with one third of the furniture missing(the front of the stock,) and the owner wants 123 USD, or 143 AUD, for it. This is a pawn shop, mind you.

  • ask about the barrel condition as if it is not good it will cost you. (i dont know how much in the US)but replacement parts are widely available.

  • your collection sucks.

  • A workhorse of war. Still useful after a century. Last I heard, the long-range (over 1,000 yards) accuracy record was held by a SMLE shooter.

  • shut up, these rock american weapons dont

  • bull shit..get an M1 nigga..or get a BAR 10...dose are the real shit.

  • You need to fire an M1 Garand then youll forget all about that crap...An SML...WHAT

  • the enfield was more popular as it was used all over the middle east durind ww1 and 2 you dumbass

  • you suck.... I fucking love those rifles, they're badass

  • impressive

  • Very, very nice. Good hobby.

  • those are amazing i wish i had one'

  • wat type of licence do you need to have?

  • wonderful hobby

  • Yo I'm from the UK cool video man Enfields are the best they're guns of skill not like automatic guns or grenades they're unfair an Enfield is only as good as the person firing it!

  • From the US - Are there any striking differences in the performance of the 1912 no. 1 Mk III versus the 1941 Lithgow? I know that different rifles are in different states of use, some being nearly dead, and others performing beautifully. I'm just asking in a general sense, besides country of manufacture?

  • Hello from England. The home of the Lee Enfield. Nice collection. You certainly know your stuff too. I have a No 1 Mark 111*, made by Birmingham Small Arms, dated 1918. Keep collecting.

  • I own a s.m.l.e no.1 mk3 and they are bloody good guns there great here in aus on feral goat and pig

  • Oh yeah! They do the trick!

  • I Own 2 .303 Rifles But I Dont Know what brand because it dosen't say anywhere on it. All It says Is "No4 mkI *

Long Branch 1943" I'm Guessing It's Made In "England" because It says England on top Of The Rifle.

  • You have a Lee-Enfield No4 Mk1* built by the Long Branch factory in Canada in 1943. No4s were made in England, Canada and the United States (by Savage). The 'England' on the rifle was a stamp applied when the rifle was sold from military service in the UK, to show where it was disposed fom, not where it was made.

  • Oh Ok,Thanks Man I wasn't sure. All I Knew Was That They're the best Rifles I've Ever Shot.

  • o u have a colleters licence with the ssaa

  • hey im from Australia 2 n i was gonna collect ww2 rifles. Do you know where i can get a Lee-Enfield and Kar-98k in QLD? and how much they would be?

  • There are a few good dealers in Qld, your best bet would be to scan your phone book and give them a ring. With Lee Enfields being so common in Australia, most gunshops have one or two out the back.

  • Mate, good stuff, hope i can get one when i go to AUS!

  • Does it matter?

  • are u Australian?

  • Great collection, i'm actually starting one myself.

The Lee Enfield is my favorite rifle of all time.

  • awesome collection. I own a No.4 Mk.1 myself.

  • nice collection!! im onny 14 but i sure hell know alot about them!! ive only used a deactivated one but still!! cool gun!

  • Very nice rifles.

I haven't seen any of mine for years (I was about 8 the last time I did), but if my memory serves me correctly I have one of the BSA rifles and also a sniper variant. Currently being looked after by family in Canada.

  • Very nice collection of "Ol' Smellys."

    The jungle carbine sure barks!

  • i just love 'em!

  • Nice collection. I am a fan too. On the differences between No4s. The Mk I had the ladder sight (often known as the Singer sight after the sewing machine factory that made them during the war) The Mk I* rifles (Canadian and US (Lend Lease)rifles) had the two hole flip-up sight and the Mk 2 (with the triger attached to the receiver rather than the trigger guard) went back to the ladder sight. Many Mk I* rifles were fitted with ladder sights on refurbishment. Keep collecting.

  • nice som biach

  • Nice collection, im not gonna buy any more lithgows myself but i wouldnt mind that last one, the jungle carbine.

Ive been looking for a beonet at gun shows but cant seem to find a match that is in good condition for a good price.

Mine still has the original pull through and oil container in the butt.

  • How do you get these? I really want one!

  • ns ... i wat the enfield .no4 :)

  • Beautiful rifles. Can't wait to get own any type of Lee-Enfield rifle.

  • very nice! how much u pick up the no4 mk1 for? gonna get me one of those when i get out of the army, if i get in that is...

  • Im intrested, what Australian catagory licence do you have mate?

  • No worries, I have a target shooting and recreational hunting/vermin control licence. I use the rifles for both, with the rarer ones set aside for target shooting only. I'm going for a collector's licence as well. Cheers.

  • VERY nice collection. Its a shame you need a "target shooting and recreational hunting/vermin control license". If you come to the U.S., you are more than welcome to shoot some of my firearms "just because we can" :)

  • G'day mate, very very nice collection you've got yourself there!

I'd love to be able to get my hands on a No.1 MkIII, but alas haven't been able to find....any gun stores in Meblourne... Would you have any tips where I could try looking intersate (or even internationaly)

    Cheers mate, again wonderful collection!

  • Thanks, I enjoy them alot! I know of a place in Albury where you could get a nice No1 for about $120, PM me if you're interested. No need to go overseas as we live in the land of the Lithgow!

  • Beautiful rifles, really do envy you. Own a SMLE No.I MkIII myself made in 1910. Not aload to own live weapons over here, so its deactiveted :( still looks the dogs bol***ks thou.

  • Thanks, they are a beautiful weapon. I'd love one aerlier than my 1912, but I'm happy for now! Does yours have the volley sights and cutoff? You're right, they do look the dogs!

  • Very very nice collection. I have an Indian 2A-1 in 7,62x51mm which I love. I honestly haven't picked up any .303 version because surplus ammo is getting hard to find. What do you use in AU?

  • I'm hoping to get my hands on a 2A1 at some stage. Here in Aussie, there are a few different types of surplus ammo, none in great quantities. There is a fair bit of Pakistani ammo about, and my videos show the downside of this stuff! Sometimes one can find old Aussie military ammo about. The rifles are pretty cheap here so it is worth putting up with whatever ammo can be found. Thanks for the kind comments.

  • Lovely collection - Pride of place goes to the HT. Rude question, but how much did it set you back? Last one i saw was around $3000... But that was a fair few months ago.

  • Yep, the HT is a beauty. It was actually given to me by a farmer who used it as a range rifle in the 1960s before they went to 7.62 for target shooting. He is no longer able to shoot fullbore, and he was happy that I'd provide a good home for it. I can never buy a lottery ticket now as I've used up all my luck!

  • Beautiful collection, just picked up an SMLE myself!

  • Cheers, thanks. They are terrific weapons.

  • I believe the second to last enfield you mentioned, the "N0.4 Mk1" is actually a no.4 Mk.2, I say that becuase the rear sight belongs to an mk.2, the mk.1's only had 300 and 600 yard flip sights.

  • G'day, good observation. The rifle is a No4 Mk1 which came with the flipsight, but I replace it with an 800 yard calibrated rearsight from No5 production. I think the No4 Mk2 was the one with the trigger hung from the receiver rather than being part of the trigger guard, and mine has the earlier trigger. I believe that the ladder sights were refitted to lots of No4 Mk1s, although I'm by no means an expert.

  • my mark 2 had the 300/600 flip sight..

  • From my research the mk2s had the trigger pivoted on the receiver instead of the trigger guard, and many did have the leaf sights. That's really the only difference between the mk1 and the mk2 though...

  • No No. 4 Mark 2s?

  • Not yet! I'd love to find one, but I haven't seen any here in Australia. Reckon I'll just have to keep looking!

  • Finally found one, a 1953 in pretty nice nick. That'll get included in the next video as I've picked up four more rifles since this one was made.
