Most dust devils are F0s. They can barely life paper off the ground. You could walk into a dust devil and all you'd get is maybe your hair messed up, but they can tear up kites though. One took mine.

Dust devils are not rated on the Fujita scale. An F0 tornado can actually cause damage.

Fujita scale ratings only apply to tornadoes.

I was mostly criticizing tornado videos where dolts place the vortex at ground halfway up the frame. Like, "You supposed to place the subject in the middle of the picture.".

But since this video is about a huge dustdevil, I find the rare vortex far more interesting. Here is a missed opportunity to show what was higher up. You can video your grass and dirt anytime.

Placing the vortex touching the ground just above the frame shows all its effects, plus more vortex. There is nothing happening on the foreground. I'd rather see thispectacularare phenomena. The other can be videoed anytime.

Aim camcorder so horizon is just above bottom of frame. No need to have 1/4 of view being foreground.

nope. this dust devil, while probably the same size as a tornado, just does not have nearly the same power. I'm sure there are some that are more powerful, but all the ones I've experienced at Burning Man just blow a lot of dust around...

tornadoes can only form from thunderstorms while dust devils form on clear days and are usually much weaker than tornadoes

I live in maricopa Arizona, the place w the most dust devils on earth, if you dont belive me look it up) and they rarley get as big as that and when they do, its even more rare for it to pick up a rock the size of your fist, let alone be dangerouse. They are not that bad :).

Dust devils can also be dangerous They are comparable to tornadoes in that both are an unusual weather phenomenon of swirling air vortices can throw glas or any object deep into the wound or through but unlikely seen too many don't wanna be close especially that one holy shit!!

They're not that fast. You can run thru the dust devil without harm. Well, maybe you'll get a lot of dust in your eyes. Or perhaps you'll run smack into another person running thru it from the other side who also has dust in his/her eyes... :)
