  • wtfffffffff BRITISH!!??????? o.O

  • He does an American accent so well, that it was downright jarring to hear his British accent on Law & Order: UK, and even MORE jarring to realize that even THAT'S not his real accent, it's the one he's speaking in here.

  • @CamilleNadia I was surprised when I first realized he was British. When I saw him in Law & Order I knew that was a different accent from his regular speaking voice. It wasn't until later that I realized I'd seen him before in Horatio Hornblower.

  • thumbs up..

  • Where can I watch the whole event without little 2 minute clips?

  • I love how people are going on about his "American" accent for BSG, when Lee was from the twelve colonies... at the other side of the galaxy. Not America. o.O

  • @ZKY2 NEEEEEEEEEEEEERD

  • @ZKY2 Watch the DVD box set... he says it's an "American" accent. So, that's where everyone gets it from. He also says "bugger or buggah" in an "American" accent it's cute.

  • oh my god?! Major Lee "Apollo" Adama is BRITISH?!?!?!?!?!?!? 4 seasons of battlestar, and it never crossed my mind :S

  • @tarrizzzzzzzzz 4seasons of something scifi that isn't retarded? where did you think it came from, the us?

  • @mattnumber13 are you suggesting bsg was entirely british? and btw, whatabout stargate, star trek, star wars, sanctuary, caprica and so on and so fort? those are just the ones at the top of my head

  • @tarrizzzzzzzzz no... stargate was a movie, star wars got turned into a cartoon, star trek got retarded, and firefly (which was actually kickass) got cancelled in les than a season.

  • @mattnumber13 wait wait wait wait! don't bash stargate over the head just yet... i was in fact thinking of sg-1, atlantis and universe ;) firefly i forgot :/

but we digress, the point of the matter was; was battlestar galactica a BRITISH show? :S the only one with an accent was baltar :/

  • Funny thing is in a later interview with Richard Hatch present he says Apollo was his favourite character as a child, here he says he didn't remember him

  • his accent was passable in the mini-series. only in a couple spots does it sound forced, but this didn't occur to me before i knew he was english. that being said, he definitely got better at it over time.

  • I'm so glad his American accent got better over the series. It was teeth-clenchingly bad in the miniseries and the first bit of the first season.

  • HOLY SHIT HE HAS A BRITISH ACCENT!!! And here I was thinking Hugh Laurie was the best American accent from a British actor. Jamie Bamber is giving him a run for his money!

  • Katee sackhoff is looking pretty tasty in this for once.

  • Why do Americans laugh hysterically at every lame, unfunny line? WTF is that?

I don't think Bamber is even trying to be funny... Must be a piece of cake being a stand up comic in the States.

  • I agree, some of the most unfunny bollocks you see on american tv like those crap parodies of people which look and sound nothing like them and wouldn't entertain a smart five year old people crack up at in the states.

  • Actually we have that in the UK too, but as this is a live audience it's totally cringe-worthy.

  • @SilverShamrock71 Maybe we know how to have a good time, loosen up and enjoy

  • @SilverShamrock71 theyre told to do so by some lame-ass producer who holds up a sign saying "applause''!

    XD

  • @SilverShamrock71 : all depends on who's saying it and how much you like them. it's human nature, i know for fact that if dave chappelle and dane cook told the same joke with the same delivery my reactions would be entirely different.

  • fair comment, but you have to admit that it's teeth clenchingly embarrassing. It reminded me of the Old Ann Robinson Weakest Link US version.

  • LOL, I'm Australian, so that might explain it too.

@antred 11, "what makes me think he's gay?"

    Uhh, what doesn't?

The way he speaks, the way he carries himself, and, of course, my well honed gaydar. As they say "it takes one to know one".

Check out all the gay slash fiction with Apollo in it and it's not hard to see why I made this (erroneous) assumption.

Shame. Guess you breeders can have this one, we've got plenty in our camp already.

    Bring on Caprica!!!!

  • nah, he's just a posh boy, probably went to public school, they all sound gay.

If you want to hear a really gay accent, search YouTube for Brian Sewell art critic, now that really is homo extraordinaire.

  • maybe it's all in your head....

Jamie is a happily married man, always has been....

  • Huh? What makes you think he's gay? You seem a bit confused.

  • @katlifefilms he's not gay he's just british

  • Katee looks awful

  • Dang, Starbuck looks like a hoochie... I like it...

  • i want him to get me pregnant :D

  • How many of you just came here to listen to him talk in his accent.

Brits are better at doing accents, us Americans really cant do it for shit.

  • I'm an American, and my Arab friends as well as my German friends say I do a pretty good impression of both accents, but I do wish I were born in Britain I love their accent.

  • @j0en Yah same and I dont think i will ever want to watch it again lol...American accent suites him better lol. ...So odd...

  • @j0en that's because they grow up listening to A LOT of american tv shows/movies whereas we learn of very few shows/movies from other countries....

  • @j0en So true, when I found out he was british I was amazed. James Callis does a pretty good american accent on Eureka now

  • @j0en i think u meant "us all 'murricans" but dear lord was he right about the vipers in chutes. LADDERS!! don't care if it's SNAKES or CHUTES... get to the laddah!!

  • @j0en anne hathaway, take note

  • aww, bless him! he is soo funny and natural talking and making all the others laugh!!!

love his accent, wish mine was that strong!

gotta love jamie bamber, hes such an awesome actor!!..x

  • Grief, anyone else jealous of his wife?

  • *raises hand*

  • *raises both hands*

  • @grantha no, she's gotta stay home with the spawn.

get your snake on the right plane!

  • @grantha

Hell, yes. What a lucky woman she is.

  • His accent reminds me of Hugh laurie's range.. that man plays it so well.

If you want a mental image picture Laurie's House character, then picture Dr. Cockroach, MD from Monsters Vs Aliens, where his voice is like an even nuttier viersion of his old Blackadder character.

    God, what a trip.

  • oh yum.

  • god starbuck looks pretty dam fie there!!!!!

  • Adorable!

  • He looks tiny next to Sakhoff?

  • That accent! My god!

  • he is so funny! apsolutely adore him! does anyone notice how his voice sounds completely different when he's not using american accent?

  • Yes, his voice sounds very different.

  • funny
