Drum peel test on aluminum composite panel ASTM D1781

I really wish that ASTM, Miami-Dade, ICC-ES et al would withdraw this standard. I've talked to various D1781 apparatus manufacturers, and they all say the same thing: in 1964 when they came up with the test it was great. But now almost 50 years later, adhesives have gotten so much better that this test is completely useless.
