You do need the Stylus it if the app isn't properly optimized with too small buttons. Or well, you don't "need" it, but you'll go crazy in couple of minutes otherwise. :P
The OS is bascially Debian GNU/Linux, how can you not get one? It's the first REAL computer in a cellphone. Anything you can run on your Linux desktop should be portable straight up to this little puppy.
Efforts popping up is a good way for Spotify to find who got the brains worth hiring. And there's one. Since Maemo is natively Linux that deSpotify stuff just sits there perfectly suited for teaming up with a Qt UI. Only issue is deSpotify will never make it in commercial guise, Spotify's deals with the music labels prevent what-cats-drag-in from their view of the world.
This should've been highlighted! The curiousity with why stylii is your (& others) preference lends to the opposite advertising that Maemo 5 on N900 is a finger-friendly GUI. The list of artists shown looks like its stylii friendly and less finger friendly.
Ok, to make things clear: This is not advertisement for anything, it is not part of Maemo 5, nor is it a good example of how well Qt integrates with Maemo 5. Most importantly: It does not in any way reflect how the Hildon desktop on N900 looks, works or how finger friendly it is.
It's just an app I wrote in a few hours to access Spotify on my phone. You can navigate it with your fingers, but I plan on improving the UI when I get a chance. Please read the blog for more details on the project.
You don't need the stylus - I've used the N900 a lot recently and the screen is close to perfect; it has greater accuracy than capacitive screens, yet remains very sensitive. You couldn't have that much info on the screen with a capacitive screen as the fonts would have to be larger for thumbs, fingers. Great to see this much support before it's even launched.
can someone make a video of how to download this thing, and how to install it please....

Actually, the stylus is just a personal preference of mine. You should be able to navigate this with your fingers without any problems.
