  • I'm guessing these Silverliner Vs aren't allowed to take switches very fast. Either that or there was some type of speed restriction.

  • @murjax The interlocking at Bryn Mawr isn't a High Speed interlocking and most likely never will be.. I believe the fastest a train can go is 60MPH. That's on the far track from where I was filming. All tracks are limited to I believe 30 MPH at the interlocking. With the exception of the one.

  • @Acela150Kid That makes sense. I wouldn't take an old jointed rail switch like that any faster than 30 anyway. Now if all tracks were new welded rail with concrete ties like one you're standing next to, that would be different.

  • @murjax the track is new but the switches aren't..

  • @Acela150Kid When you say 30. Are you talking about a train going through the crossovers?

  • @Lackawanna952 yes, I'm not 100% sure what the limits are but I've heard 30 tossed around for all except the far track from where I was filming. Not sure.

  • @Acela150Kid The train in this video is doing 15mph. The switches are also good for 45mph. There is a dwarf signal at the end of the interlocking were he started to crossover. Most likely it was showing slow clear.
