The M21 is based on th M14 (Late 60's sniper rifle) so I'd say they are similar, But there are differences and the M1A is actually an upgraded M14. There's a reason the military went from 30-06 to 308, and they also use .338 Lapua with boat tail rounds.

@tricepsish just so you know, if you see a troop of soldiers as a lone sniper, you don't kill anybody in the first seconds. you wound as many as possible so they have to stop and gather their wounded. then, when you have your wounded bait, you pick off those that try to help your bait.

Jackson was kick ass. Just saw this movie yesterday and I think he and Melish were my favorites, though Tom Sizemore was good too. This movie is outstanding. My Top 5 Favorite Movies List has changed for the first time in 20 years. This ranks just under the original 'Dawn Of The Dead,' which could've hella benefited from Jackson btw. Imagine his skills w/ zombies lol
