yeaaa give this guy some slack...i mean yes he comes off as a person with a BIG EGO but really he's just an overly friendly and confident person who has the passion and talent.. his large personality is due to his theatre experience.. and from what i noticed, most theatre ppl have this driven personality...e.g. Adam Lambert

For example, on pure vocal talent, there is no question that Luther Vandross has (had) a far superior vocal instrument than say a Tim McGraw. But Tim McGraw's voice and style fits really really well with his genre of music.

If you close your eyes and listen to each of the artists, there is no denying that ML clearly has the best vocal control and raw talent. The people who say he doesn't or that he is overrated are like Simon trying to judge a very well performed country song. Very difficult to be completely objective in judging music in a genre that you don't really care for.

I think he's overrated and I wouldn't have used the save. At best he's done songs that I wouldn't change the station on. I wouldn't be saying "turn it up I love this song!" At least not yet...I agree Tim's worse and only there because the girls like him.

Most of the time Idol contestants' studio versions aren't any better than the live one. But this one is way better. Damn I can't believe this guy got the lowest number of votes. I guess he's too scary for all those 12 year old white girls...
