Wow, it's crazy to see this tornado from another angle. I lived through it when I was 5, and the only angle I saw was it bearing down on our house literally in the front yard. The sense of panic I've never had anything like since. This tornado did light damage to our house but the street over one house was literally ripped in half like a doll house - freaky stuff!
And as far as the accents, some people here talk that way but not all of us sound like that. I'm certainly not a redneck at all.
@Shintsu2 "Some" people? Almost everyone in that area has a southern accent. An accent has nothing to do with being redneck - it's just how your voice sounds when you speak. This is Kentucky, therefore, they've got those accents. It has nothing to do with intelligence or lifestyle.
@ReuWil Yeah, I live in Kentucky - I don't sound anything like that. And my family is from KY. Just because you're from an area doesn't mean instantly you'll sound a certain way. Everyone from Georgia that lives near the Cahulawassee River isn't going to instantly be a country bumpkin with an accent like Deliverance. You can also train yourself to have a different accent, just requires lots of commitment and surrounding yourself with the desired accent.
@Shintsu2 Right, everything you say is true, but that's not what I was talking about...I was responding to you saying "some" people have the accent in that area - it's a pretty much most people, and also responding to your comment that accents have something to do with lifestyle or intellect - they don't. You felt the need to explain away as though you were embarrassed by southern accents. If someone judges you or your neighbors by an accent, that's their problem - they're a snob.
@ReuWil I would be if I had one, it's not a nice sounding accent by any means. I enjoy many accents, but southern accents are one I don't - because I don't like farms, country life, or anything stereotypically associated with it. I'm not going to be defined by an accent, so I just learn a new one that doesn't have any real connotations to it. It's not like people from up North have a stereotype associated with their accent like a Southern accent...
@Shintsu2 Well, that's really sad on your part. In letting that affect you to that degree, you in fact became what you claimed you want to avoid. Think about that - it's defining what you think of others and what you think about yourself. And it's a beautiful accent - by many means. Country life, farming, etc. are nothing unique to the south, and your comment indicates that you have a disdane for farmers - who do you think produces the food you eat? Why insult them?
i live in kentucky. there is allot of people with that accent and its terrible. cool thing is actually the majority of people don't even talk like that.
@hooha1692 what is your problem. Im from kentucky and 99.9% of my family talks that way, I have a huge huge huge huge family and that = alot of people. Yes I am a redneck and yes I am pround of the accent and yes I do talk that way. if you dont like it then why bother to view this video.
WAVE-TV had an incredible tower cam live shot of the storm itself before it formed the tornado, and the structure was unreal for a thunderstorm moving through the Ohio Valley. It looked like something that you see in the Plains in all of those storm chaser videos. It was a once-in-a-lifetime kind of deal, hopefully.
my clothes were ripped off of me in this tornado,my dong was stretched to 2 foot long due to the swirling vortex,my wife is anxiously awaiting the next one.

@JaidenTyler2007 well, I have the same accent. Just because we are from the southeastern part of the state doesnt make us stupid.

And whenever I'm in a building, I'm referring to a level lower than the one I'm on as "down-sturrs."
I'm also using the word "Illinoize" in place of the word "Illinois."
