These guys just called me. Exact same shtick, except the 'technician' I got transferred to was a total asshole. When I kindly asserted that I was not interested at all and was going to hang up now, he basically said that my computer was going to implode and when it did, I'd better not try to call Virtual PC Doctor for assistance, because they will never help me again. Hahaha.
They called me like 15 minutes after I got my computer set up. (My computer had a malware and I just got it back from the IT shop) I kept asking where they were from and they said Virtual PC Doctor. I let him go on for a while and then I said "Interesting fact, you are a scammer don't call here again." Then I hung up.
they just called me 2 mins ago i knew straight away it was a scam i am a pc tech. i had some fun asking them what computer i had it was so funny. they said they will ring back in 1 hour if they do i am going to take the piss again hahaha. i thing scared me they new my name number and address the fags
How did he keep his cool is beyond me...lol. I just got one today July 23, 2011 and I believe its been going for over 12 months, So how come the Authority's haven't shut them down?
BTW, I've only had a computer since September so I could almost be excused the naivety/'gullibility'..not that I made it easy for them to eventually back down & out having removed their 'software' from my pc before my very eyes..
Why do they do this sh1t ?? Even got me using expletives..&, were I not of greater resolve, after hearing this accented droning gobbledegook with chaotic background noise AGAIN, I'd be reaching for some pills too.. Bustards !!!!!

Wanted ANY credit card details I could get my hands on so as 2give them £125 &then some, I imagine.
I'll probably become a geek overnight after this cleaning up session @!#X!!!
Got a call from an outfit like this today. HAve posted warning on my website :-) By the way, love the party pooper comments at the end by the guy they were trying to scam on the phone.......classic :-)

By the way, is it actually illegal to access someone's computer (even if they actually did work for Microsoft or something)? I mean, don't Computer shops do that if they're doing a virus removal or something?
@taxi911 i would say it could be illegal without the owners consent but in a shop you are allowing the shop look at your computer you are giving your consent so thats what i think
