I wish kawasaki had won the bid for the new 5000 series i know most of you guys probably know about the Bombardier USA/CTA 5000 series designed by cta had received the first production of 52 cars 11/11 ALL have been put out of service because of faults in the wheel bearing casting Even the units at plattsburg ny have the same problem along with MANY other faults lol wow i knew they were doomed the first time they rolled onto the system poorly designed and manufactured.
@junjun798 did the mta announce their plan yet? lol what if the 5 gets them and they can only be the sets that go to bowling green instead? i think its better if the 4,5,6 get them like mixed fleets of r142s and r62as. but we won't know whats going to happen we'll just wait and see...
@borednyorker157 The 5 cant get them because it shares the flatbush terminal with the 2 and the both need the same subway cars so it would be a pain to switch the rollsigns on the r62as if they were on the 5 because it always switches routes with the 2 there fore the 5 cant get the R62A thats why its only gonna be the 4 and the 6
