You can say what you want guys. I like J.Pradon as Judas. Maybe his accent is a bit french, maybe his voice is not ideal for Judas, but he deliver the emotion and pain, Just brilliantly. As much as i love to LISTEN to the old version with Murray, I would always prefer to WATCH the Jerome's performance instead. he is a really good actor.

Personally I love Jerome Pradon as Judas here, I don't think the song fits his voice very well and I don't think he's a great singer, but his eyes are so intense and magnetic and I think his acting is so good that it makes up for any vocal problems.

I love judas in this version, he seems more of a main character than Jesus. He has emotion in each song he sings to suit the type mood hes supposed to be in, (normally sad and confused) The flaws in his voice when singing makes him seem like a human rather than someone trying to sing properly.

I also love that through the entire actual production of this, he always seems to be be smirking at jesus and contradicting him as if theyre equals. It makes the show a whole lot better.

I love Jerome's Judas - he's no Zubin Varla (cf. London Studio Cast) vocally and he knows it, so he takes the part and makes it his own not through unbelievable piper but sheer honest acting. It wouldn't work on record, but as a performance I think it's brilliant.

However, regarding Jerome Pradon as a "tenor..." He's a baritone. But the role of Judas is a tenor. This role is actually out of Pradon's normal vocal range. Note the squeaks, voice-cracking, etc.

this judas is pretty good, especially voice-wise, but i prefer judas' voice to have more edge and rawness, so i have to say i prefer the '73 version with Anderson.

And the Jesus here, while a good singer, is kind of just meh for me acting-wise (and I've seen this movie too, so don't hate! lol)

i prefer this judas. you guys make it sound like he's terrible. of course i saw this version of the show before the 1970's version. i think his voice adds more emotion. you can hear judas' fear and desperation in his voice. while the other one was good as well infact his version was something you can dance to. great singer. but this judas is more human.

Mmm, he's hot and his voice is very good. But it's so strange - a white Judas! Anderson owned this role, and I liked this scene in the old movie - he was far away from Jesus, high on the mountain, and all his words wasted, Jesus didn't hear him.

Eh...it was okay, I guess. I personally am not a fan of Mr. Pradon's voice, but I suppose it's an acquired taste. I can't really dis it, I suppose; I'm a big fan of Daphne Rubin-Vega and I suppose that this is similar.

My really problem was how he was not...fluid at all. Each word seemed so stacatto and sharp. It sounded as if...I don't know...he isn't fluent in English, and this is not a comment on the accent; I'm French-Canadian myself. He sounded stiff.

The ending was good, though.

The sharp stacatto feel you talk about is what he uses to make the song and character 'spikier' and it adds a mean shade to the song, think.... it wouldn't be at all as good or mocking/ questioning if it were legato...
